81  Economy / Speculation / Re: How much is a LOT of BTC? on: February 04, 2015, 01:38:14 PM
To each his own, for me having 10 bitcoin would be a lot but it might be nothing for something holding that much already.

To me a lot is what it takes to move the market, which is a couple of thousand bitcoins currently.
82  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [OBSCUREBAY] Limited Supply - High reward for first blocks [X11-POS] on: January 23, 2015, 12:17:59 PM
Pre-mine is 110k (10k has to be sent as bounties logo),probably will set-up another logo bounties soon and some giveaways.

Add obscurebay on twitter and share it.
Already sent messages to exchangers.

A dev holding a premine for a coin on an echange makes people nervous because the dev might dump. If you distribute the premine before getting on an exchange it might be better.
83  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is Your Top 5? on: January 23, 2015, 12:14:37 PM
Question: What is your top 5 Cryptocurrencies (non payment-gateway/ blockchain based app) on https://www.coingecko.com/en ?

What do you mean by "non payment-gateway"?
84  Economy / Speculation / Re: This Bitfinex Credit Bubble cannot end well on: January 23, 2015, 12:10:34 PM
I have been bearish during all 2014 (just check my posts) and I'm still bearish. The breach of the long term support showed on a logarithmitc charter (that starts at 2.23 usds and was breached at around 274 on Bitstamp) doesn't promise nothing good.

All, or almost all, of bitcoin's recoveries in price had been in V. That is, a sudden crash, with heavy panic selling, followed by a fast recovery that ends up as a V on a price chart. We haven't seen that yet. This recent recovery seems to be a retrace back. It might keep going up, perhaps to 250 or 260 (who knows, I doubt that, but can go up to touch again the breached trend line, now at about 285), but I'm betting on heavy lower lows. But don't take that on me alone. Check what some are posting at tradingview.com.

That isn't necessarily negative. It can be an almost once in a life time opportunity, if you wait for the right moment to go long. Bitcoin's fundamentals have never been so good (major adoption by retailers). In due time, there is a pretty good chance that price will go up like a missile. But first, probably, there will be much more blood and tears.

This scenario will be falsified if bitcoin goes up above 300 usds.

This price rise since the crash looks over to me. I'm guessing there will be another crash to lower lows soon.

RIP Bitstamp.

I can hear all cry posts in in a few months when Bitstamp has the next issue and goes offline for over.

Are any of the other exchanges more reliable?

well other didn't get hacked as far as we now.

We should have a Zero tolerance mentality when it comes to this. If a exchange fucks up once it's over for them. After Gox everybody should be super skeptical. But as far as I can see, people don't give a shit and history will reaped and people will never learn by their misstakes.

Bitfinex seems best for volume but how do we know it won't get hacked? Has it got better security? Some posts here claimed it was dodgy.

89  Economy / Speculation / Re: is LakeBTC rising prices? on: January 16, 2015, 11:03:06 AM
LakeBTC's volume is too low to rise prices.
90  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 16, 2015, 10:48:29 AM
Is this Guerbuez guy full of shit then?

It's Friday & no news.....

Maybe it is. It might all be just to drive the price up or down. But wasn't it that Mark was involved with the trial ?

I don't believe so, now Hoskinson is saying the same thing. There must be something going on!!

Finding out that Mark was involved with the trial does not make holders glad to be holding bitcoins. It must either be something else or bullshit.
91  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will the floor be ??? on: January 16, 2015, 10:45:12 AM

I know. I would too. Probably not gonna happen though.

If it goes back to a dollar it's probably finished anyway.

haha I like you

....and this is NOT a bitcoin chart; EUR scamcoin lost 30% against CHF scamcoin. All scamcoins will approach inner value sooner or later.

At this rate tourists will be paying 100 euros for three ice creams.

^TL;DR: You can't say it in words?

In case you missed it, these are the words:
You (notlambchop) are being deliberately obtuse.

Wait, that's what you wanted me to watch?  And you feel that answers my questions?
And you still don't understand why fungi are smarter than Bitcoiners?

If you are not a bitcoiner then why spend all your time on a bitcoiner forum? You seem to know a lot about bitcoin, especially considering you intimate you are not a bitcoiner.

I trade Bitcoin.  Or rather, I used to.  Now I do a bit of Bitcoin gambling, which is a less euphemistic way of putting it.  That's why I'm here, in the Speculation forum.  Of course, I'd be lying if I didn't cop to having an occasional laugh at your expense.

Doesn't that make you a bitcoiner?
95  Economy / Speculation / Re: is anyone else as stupid as me to still hodl? on: January 16, 2015, 01:38:44 AM
It was really really hard over the last days not to panic sell. I wonder how many people sold around $170 and are now buying back, panicking. Maybe we'll go back into the $100s again, just so they can lose some more coins. It's sad, but this is how the human brain works. It's not always on our side.

You and I both. I sold and took a large profit after the $1000+ pump and then re-bought back in at $500 with principle and post-pump earnings. Needless to say, it's been a rough year and with the recent declines, it's even harder not to pull the sell trigger.

Making money on BTC is nice, but I got in initially as an investment store for extra cash I was tired of making .0000000001% on through my savings account. I don't worry as much about the price as I do the exchanges folding and with few places to spend it yet. I'd really like to see the infrastructure grow to use it. I hear Uber may be collaborating with Coinbase...

If bitstamp had done a gox I bet all the clever traders would have wished they had held in their own wallets. I would rather take a virtual loss when bitcoin's price tanks than lose the lot in a folding exchange.

will we break 220 tonight?

We might bounce above and below it a few times tonight.

COIN = no, therefore BTC = down.

Who says COIN = no?

I heard they were months away from making any decision.

Ego Pay is facing problems and I don't think it will last long without going Gox:

http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-exchange-egopay-freeze-client-funds/

How low will prices go when the worse happens?

I've never heard of them and their name sucks, so I dont know what to say about this.

I have full faith and confidence in bitstamp.

I heard the name somewhere, but that's all. They are not even listed on the coinmarketcap bitcoin exchanges. How big are they?

They are a payment processor that accepts btc, not an exchange

Do they have massive volume?
