mining away, selling nothing [hero member has spoken] working towards legendary, legendary are either part of ie BTC/ethereum core dev team or the once that mined BTC at super low and did not throw disk drive with the wallet in the garbage dump
643  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: September 21, 2015, 03:13:31 AM
No updates of the blockchain on http://burstcoin.biz since the 19th...? Would be great to have it fixed Smiley

yeah.. although I just sync my wallet, no big emergency, blockchain, technology transactions are as smooth as a butter always been!

hey now, just went to "hero member" Today
644  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: September 21, 2015, 03:06:37 AM
I agree with the assessment above, have been doing this over 2 years now, everything has flatlined but.. "officials" are experimenting with the tech, who knows where all of this will end up, better mine than be sorry, notice magnetic storage is not really going down in price, I dont know who unloaded BURST at low but must have had access to cheap storage, storage can be expensive in large quantities!

aka I dont think the real gold rush has even began ...
645  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: September 16, 2015, 03:03:05 AM
Volume is important to exchanges, not to currencies.

Depth is important though.

-MarkM-

thanks for this write up truly...meantime I added several new drives and mining at one point I would like to de-allocate BURST maybe a million to an asset to earn interest but it has to be ultra honest and trust me I apart with mined coins ultra rarely if ever

for example a decentralized casino but that is bound to produce fraud.. but that would make money.. there are other ideas till they come I mine and stash away.. cost of me mining is not that great . new drives were several hundred $ , new ASIC to compete will be several thousands.. I shall take my chances

well said above, you know for all the talk,, network is being mined and block rewards are getting progressively less, they will reach less and less BURST and less than 1% of the US population knows BURST exists let alone how to mine it

believe that crypto currencies are the future of not just replacement for FIAT but for other things I am telling you you have something special here, just don't drop the ball

as far as pools, seeing > 400 miners on burst ninja,, steady as she goes network capacity oscillates as low as 4 to 12 Peta, but rewards is 1/2 circa in what it used to be

cost for me running the drives is minimal in addition I mine 2 other coins all at once, believe many do the same thing

when block reward drops less and less, believe energy has to go to type of work of what ethereum is doing and assets but they have capital

we shall see, I really like this POC.. mainly because of how low on energy it is... so it can be mined in parallel but also it can be mined where electricity is expensive

at 1/2 of initial block reward if you get decent few USB drives you still can scoop hundreds of thousands of BURST, just saying

and why people sell for so little (in general) because that < 1% that knows how crypto works are kids < 20 years of age and for em 50 bucks is a lot of money  Cool
647  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: September 09, 2015, 11:42:30 PM
...
...

you wrote "the quantity supplied will increase (netsize)"

i read that as if demand rises, we get larger netsize, and thus more BURST coins into existance.
Quantity = number of BURST coins
supplied = new BURST coming into existance due to mining

I think this is the correct chain of events, if we start by assuming a larger demand, the very very first step is of course just an example of what could make demand go up

1) BURST wallet on android with barcode scanner and shower, making exchanging burst between phones as easy as with bitcoin wallet

2) a lot of people previously unrelated to BURST become BURST wallet owners and buy some BURST for their new wallets at the exchanges

3) price go up due to the buys

4) miners see ROI go up as measured in dollars, so they figure it is a good deal to buy more disk space.  New miners are attracted due to the number of BURST expected per terabyte is now worth more due to the higher BURST per dollar price

5) the new TBs of course lead to a larger network size

This works both ways :

1) when bitladen starts threthening doing a 51% attack, some BURST holders decide the risk of temporary trouble with BURST has risen so they sell off some of their burst

2) the selling pressure will take out some bids and the BURST price will go down, measured in BTC

3) the lower prices makes miner ROI look worse, so not so many new miners find it economically attractive to start mining, and existing miners will not buy more disk space as much as the otherwise would

4) the TB taken out, and the less TB coming in means network size go down

When the network size adjusts, it also adjusts the probability of hitting a block, so although the same number of BURST is mined into existence no matter what the network size, The individual miner will get more BURST for a terabyte when network size is small, and less BURST for a terabyte when network size is large.

what a thoughtful analysis one the best I have seen, thank you, overall this POC (capacity) is a really good idea

the whole crypto business is ultimately based on using these crypto assets , so the idea of assets market place is great too (long term)

believe you are on the cutting edge dear friends regardless of the exchange price, dont get too greedy, I mine just about anything and hold

and would not put down dev team cause many have full time jobs (or school) and they do this off hours, what has been done here in terms of wallet and overall tech is phenomenal without doing this full time, like really

aka you are making history and people will be tracing these conversations one day with amazement ....

---

wont disclose what my overall TB capacity is, but even a thought to overwhelm the network with what is said as 51% attack is down right shooting oneself in a foot, and why and what for for few hundred $ profit ? (at the moment)

not enough to buy self a shaving cream Cool

I liked (like) very much idea of connecting "solar panels or assets" to BURST (this is just an example, but it does make full sense due to super low energy consumption to the ratio of cryptographic complexity required..) , this is very futuristic , you are probably decades ahead in advance ...

off to scan rest of this landscape latest being Ethereum, that thing chews (that algo) so much energy it could lit the whole city (1000 miners and growing at the moment) probably wont do it as it is a hype, but people like it but it can be repeated in fact you have done it via AT transaction (that person had one day too much beer and something happened and he left, he should come back one day) you have what Ethereum has and alerady talking to Qora.. find it phenomenal and few outside of this forum knows about and  certainly not the population at large is clueless

Ethereum is mined by farms at an enormous cost and quickly dumped on the exchange , the usual pattern , the whole landscape is like that, people buy into expensive farms and then try to take % cut by recycling daily and take FIAT home..

648  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: September 09, 2015, 09:22:22 AM
Too much fighting for a dead? body ...
I predict nice profit in near future.  Wink

Too funny.. Mining this like crazy (in parallel with non POC coin) hard drives (inc USB based) never failed once, have them connected and mining 24/7 must be months now (for me it is like a bonus coin and super low on energy cost) and that's it I see you are engaging in some kind of quarrel , why ?  Cool

a! and yes block reward just dropped
649  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][FAIR] Faircoin Dev team launch Faircoin 2.0 White paper. PoC on: August 01, 2015, 11:30:31 AM
entered this because of great community you have and the potential for the future especially in tangible commerce

thanks for the opportunity

---

it appears from the trading velocity you might have reached the bottom, it could be that people who were given coins for free needed FIAT (for life expense for instance) so now you have a plateaux and if you keep on engaging this (consistently) you are going back up

also market cap close to a million is significant , writing all this for others if they are contemplating "getting in"

this is going sky high , said that months ago, extremely advanced programming is happening here

Is BURST in collaboration with SUPERNET?

If not then you should guys. Exchanges are becoming less and less reliable, and SUPERNET is already a great breakthrough of decentralized exchanges.

You need to contact their DEVs ASAP, and tell them to add BURST too , they already got NXT in it.

http://www.supernet.org

agree 100% much innovation is happening there, also supernet is "talking" to "bitnet" (thats China) ie VPN coin, much innovation (+ recent price spike) all of it "I am in" although supernet is already expensive.. BURST you still have a ground to "purchase"

very best

***

look at BTC go... will break 300$ soon

***

my advice purchase "core coins" participating in SN.. some do "NXT" assets , it is such a proliferation of these.. too much for my taste, NXT itself might be good buy (as is BURST) maybe.. no one knows what is going to happen in the future.. blockchain stays for sure.. which blockchain ? now that is up to you  Cool
652  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: July 25, 2015, 01:50:13 AM
You people still think this crapcoin still has a chance?  Wow, you're really stupid.  How many TB of disk space is needed now to even have a chance at mining a decent number of coins?

20 tera can deliver good amount (still) but watch out for block reduction also measure HDD cost against exchange prices

BURST will be one of the key coins in my opinion , it's algorithm based on capacity can not be simulated by special purpose devices (ever! not just Today), that is powerful

have a great weekend
653  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: July 25, 2015, 01:45:08 AM
speaking of qora AT transactions are the future blockchains protocol can enable true peer to peer exchange/trade and commerce (take out exchanges completely out of the picture) it is the future, AT also is perfect for AI systems

all I want you NOT to do is to burn yourself out while we get there (that burn out I see around here not just BURST from time to time) be steady and consistent keep moving forward
654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: July 25, 2015, 01:42:55 AM
Has anyone had any disk failures yet? Been mining Burst on 6 HDDs for almost a year now without any issues. Guess this coin isn't too bad for HDDs.

0 failures (6 months 24/7 operation non stop w/ nagios enabled if USB disconnects I reconnect), all works beautiful.. get decent RAM for large  stager size, soon it will matter harder (block reduction)
655  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: July 25, 2015, 01:41:03 AM
bought qora long time ago in millions , burstcoin is undervalued but allocated BTC to something else at the moment

you all live in golden times of low prices and low difficulties, believe BURST block reward reduction is approaching again

btw. new block explorer looks great.. some bugs such as rich list truncates (first 100)
656  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Eurocoin (EUC) is SHA256 based crypto currency on: July 01, 2015, 01:04:14 PM
era of new coins is over, don't waste your time, market liquidity is just not there anymore

like the name though, but Greece should produce a country coin, they tried twice and complete failure, most there will buy BTC anyways, maybe some few undisclosed coins with growing market share

otherwise you are doing pure nonsense here
657  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [EMC] EmerCoin - PoW&PoS - SHA-256 on: July 01, 2015, 12:57:01 PM
very strong market activity, coin is highly innovative, thanks for the opportunity
658  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: July 01, 2015, 07:53:29 AM
I had no idea crypto can carry so much drama of course I suspected but still, some real human person drama is unfolding everywhere, many went into debt too (equipment) but also time, some had to pay of the debt (here not so much electricity) so many sold on low pushing price lower

nice thing here also is that botnets can not touch this coin, just large stash of drives, and of course I love aggressive reduction of block reward schedule, it is already being felt

and please don't spend what you can not afford to spend, and prepare for the long haul and perform some transaction from time to time even if it is 0.01 sat

many of you will be here three years from now many won't be, there is something called "burn out" applies to developers as well, but I am an optimist

have Happy 4th if you are in the States  Cool

crowetic please continue with idea of fulltiltpoker burst integration. Excelent idea and im in if it will be ready.

will it use AT functionality ? like with qora , I do tremendously like these things they create a "network" in a  sense
660  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NLG] Guldencoin.com — D E L T A on: June 22, 2015, 12:41:32 AM
acquired a very substantial stake in the coin, thanks for the opportunity!
