and the block reward decreased, Reward 5,987 Burst , it is perfect

in general many miners, utilize CPU cores for BURST while at the same time mining GPU coins in parallel , there is some cost in terms of GPU hash resolution as  byproduct but not dramatic

network hash capacity is holding nicely, wide distribution of coins is occurring across the board

we briefly touched 25 peta network size (estimated) all of you should check VERT as an example for what can happen at any time
722  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage - Working Beta - Launches June 7th, 2015 on: June 09, 2015, 02:53:08 PM
strange saic command line display, anyone knows what it means ? (suppressed balance) also confirmed and unconfirmed number (balance) matches exact

./siac wallet
Wallet status:
Balance:   nnnnnnnnn (confirmed)
                nnnnnnnnn (unconfirmed)
Addresses: 8495

cranking GPU's but still 0 balance.. as per 24 hours, nervous yet excited, I imagine developing (and not) countries using feature of this coin to make revenue, even off small storage, great idea!

larger data centers could also off load storage (or companies) for cash later ** sorry not cash, thats anti crypto talk  Cool for some other materials or service
723  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - 1 | ASIC - 0 | Lyra2RE | Decentralised | GPU Mineable | Open Source on: June 09, 2015, 01:09:47 PM
if above happens then 1 VTC = 1000$ however thousands will lose their jobs (again)

CC's are really like gold , one should also observe gold price pattern, and it is true that flow of capital to CC has increased over past few weeks, this is not your ordinary p@d

monstrous 2 digit BTC buy order, but top is not selling will have a hard time to fill it, VERT is going further up

1 ~ 5 BTC on occasion someone falls into trap to sell early , could be miners recouping cost but these are small monies

and we breached 540 difficulty , that is a huge hash rate, approaching dark

if vtc goes above 1000 usd i will send you 1 vtc and sell 500vtc, buy apartment yatch and lend the rest of it.  btw remind me of this post if i ever forget that i own vtc Wink

not so infeasible, it would be better that market does not collapse and CC still makes into global payment system,

and btw there is nothing wrong to dream, VERT also might get very strong developers (a team) just like dark and buildup technology further, so that is a plan as you can read dev post here

actually 4 million dollars market cap is very significant, but not as significant as an average venture capital companies get to develop risky applications

I don't think so, infant investments (and thats exactly what crypto currencies really are) are for people with savings/money they dont need right away.
Also, there is a huge difference between gold and CCs, the main one being that gold is a highly valued commodity for the last 40-50 centuries. People feel secure when they own gold, because they know that whatever happens they can always rely on the gold. Economy crashes, USD gets hyper-inflated, people getting poorer with the hour - no worries, you still have that gold.
Totally not the same with Cryptos.... If the aforementioned happens, I can bet my shiny ass that cryptos will get blown to bits.

the total opposite from what I am saying, but that is fine  Cool, well, 50% of money devalued like that will have huge impact on the dollar, which loses buying power,

one thing is needed, micro payments or wallets everywhere on micro devices/chips and cheap, believe 21 is working on that but there will be others
725  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Sia - Decentralized Storage - Working Beta - Launches June 7th, 2015 on: June 09, 2015, 12:02:21 PM
does anyone know how to check address/balance from SIA command line (siad) thanks!

"Once a block is mined, Sia waits for 144 confirmation blocks before the reward is added to your wallet, which takes about 24 hours."

patience , patience

Is the current Block Height 2103?

yes

awesome then I will wait for 144 block confirmations.. interesting .. use of go.. is very advanced.. very cool

putting couple of extra servers online ... meantime

keep going with the project,, CC is resurrecting allover the place ending of 2015 and 2016 will be fantastic but development has to be active

ok punching with some good machinery right now, blocks are found.. but won't be relaxed until I see wallet balance updated.. 0 right now..

Be patient. If your miner says block mined, then it will come in eventually   Wink

I am just now getting payouts from a rig that was finding blocks this morning around 11am. Its almost 8pm now

great.. assembling go binaries from sources was not so bad..but you have a wallet (standard satoshi build) so exchanges should have 0 problems with it (it is standard) , good to be early on, use to resale storage is going to happen . you have two big guys working on it , however.. space is so large if you dont stop you have a big chance

I am sorry for asking so many question. what is exact coin spec.. max supply block reward ratio and block reduction inflation reduction.. thanks much

is this still on testnet or for real, have wallet and miner ready , wallet shows block height 0.. please advice

also do rebrand Electron.app to Sia.app..  I am impressed by use of go language must say...

wallet version is 0.3.0 b365  , Sia version 0.3.3

miner hashes ok.. but need to know if it is still in beta or real.. thanks much

for realz yo.

do I need config json file or conf .. blocks are not synching up... appreciate it.. it is an interesting project

using mac osx for wallet client

worry that I am still hitting testnet by wrong config file or something

VTC is the rockstar on the block. Let's fuck Bitcoin in the ass!

funny, weeell without bitcoin one could not purchase vertcoin  Cool overall fantastic moves as of late

This statement is falsified with a fiat market easily. Maybe one day you can only buy Bitcoin with Vertcoin (once btc has only antique collectors value due to no defensibility of its centralized network. When Bitcoin has only a few nodes it's ddosed out of existance easily - and that's the trend)

... as always i'm a couple of years ahead ... VTC good as gold. Pumping it was a smart move.

you are right! I am wrong lol. it is cool, VERT is *liked* a *nice* coin with broad distribution , they were two major spikes that drove us to this level and even this level the amount of FIAT (when one sells) is not that large, in comparison what can happen if CC enter next phase of evolution, I am observing VC (venture capital) money in some unrelated CC companies, they will drive the rest

centralized mining is indeed a problem for BTC... here is the thing with VERT it is so agile that it can adjust algorithm and fork (again) and render centralized mining useless again, while at the same time continue distribution at lower difficulty level, maybe this is swhy an investor(s) made their move

have a great Sunday!

FYI:
NY state has just implemented regulations on virtual currencies.
Long and dry;

http://www.dfs.ny.gov/legal/regulations/adoptions/dfsp200t.pdf

Any exchange operating from NY needs a license and compliance officer; excerpt:

Section 200.3 License
(a) License required. No Person shall, without a license obtained from the superintendent as provided in
this Part, engage in any Virtual Currency Business Activity. Licensees are not authorized to exercise fiduciary
powers, as defined under Section 100 of the Banking Law.
(b) Unlicensed agents prohibited. Each Licensee is prohibited from conducting any Virtual Currency
Business Activity through an agent or agency arrangement when the agent is not a Licensee.
(c) Exemption from licensing requirements. The following Persons are exempt from the licensing
requirements otherwise applicable under this Part:
(1) Persons that are chartered under the New York Banking Law and are approved by the superintendent
to engage in Virtual Currency Business Activity; and
(2) merchants and consumers that utilize Virtual Currency solely for the purchase or sale of goods or
services or for investment purposes.

Well, we'll see how this will be adopted by other states/countries.

this is actually good, government is slowly preparing to embrace digital currency economy

and.... network capacity is in big peta, something in general is happening in CC, be careful how you trade aka sell too early

ay yay, difficulty rate is climbing, more miners engaged this crypto seeing price being stable, how nice!

the market is going crazy, anyone know whats going on? nothing like this happened in one year.

buy (or mine) as much as you possibly can right now

perfect, VERT is a very steady coin, never once was there a haphazard change made , maybe that is why someone injected at least 50 BTC into it
739  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BURST] Burst | Efficient HDD Mining | New 1.2.3 Fork block 92000 on: June 02, 2015, 03:21:23 PM
I noticed this coin on twitter and Im now invested. What's coming up for this coin. Things I should keep my eye out for.

Standalone wallet coming soon.. which should be really nice. Seems simple enough but we still don't have it yet.

We have plans for instant transactions, super blockchain trimming, maybe a stable coin who's value is still in a sense linked to Burst's value, though we're still arguing over the feasibility of that. Today just came up with an idea for a decentralized business model, which could prove very interesting, something to be thought about.

What features most excite you in a coin?  Customer feedback will likely help determine the direction of development!

fantastic things, thank you!  please do follow see when developed "elasticity" feature of VTC and adopt if successful, could become a standard you know

I would not follow CC price intraday, prepare yourself for gradual rise, now that light bulbs will carry microchips for mining, many interesting things people are thinking off, digital currency is just superior to anything else, so just be patient, if coins lay cheap , buy em, I bought some myself.. accumulating

also don't worry about clones, who has the time who has the time and energy.. people now are sticking to selected coins for the long haul
740  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MAX] MaxCoin - Alive and Kickin' on: June 01, 2015, 12:22:49 PM

looks like a glitch, looked real , max is still gaining market cap but not at that velocity, it would not be infeasible if a 6 million dollar investment was made, on the scale of standard financial markets 6 million is drop in the bucket

graph is still broken, and despite all that shows 16% gain in 24, so we will get there maybe not at that velocity, have a great day

http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/maxcoin/

Going long on Maxcoin could possibly be the worst play this century.

I am long not just on Maxcoin , we are up 40% regardless and over 300% in the past few weeks, thats pretty darn good

good luck Sir!
