People will just have to take the loss and move on.

Why should they ? If there is a better solution for everyone.
I can tell you why its because the heartless git wants the whole Gox bitcoin drama to end so things can get back to normal and move on. Which I do understand but its not going to go away in a hurry because those of us that are out of pocket are not ready to give up just for them.
242  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I bet that Mark lost the private keys and is crying theft out of embarassment on: February 27, 2014, 11:16:28 PM

One last thing to consider: If Gox's private keys to 750K BTC has truly been lost forever, then any BTC people have in their own private wallets are now just that bit rarer making them more valuable in the long run.

Human nature being what it is - do you see a majority of people voting for something that devalues the coins they currently hold?

They could just destroy the Silkroad coins that were stolen by the US government while they are at it. This would compensate for the lost deflation. Also, many of the thousands of people who lost their savings would quit bitcoin alltogether. It is not in the interest of bitcoiners to alienate other users from bitcoin.

As much as I really really want my GOXIOUBitcoins back and as awesome as it would be to see the FBI's stash ruined this is a slippery slope I hope we don't go down for the good of bitcoin Cry  Man was super hard to say that Cry
243  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Write Mt. Gox wallets out of the blockchain after a certain date/transaction ? on: February 27, 2014, 10:57:53 PM
All very good points...sniff  Cry
244  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Write Mt. Gox wallets out of the blockchain after a certain date/transaction ? on: February 27, 2014, 10:54:16 PM
Yea didnt think so.
245  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Write Mt. Gox wallets out of the blockchain after a certain date/transaction ? on: February 27, 2014, 10:48:54 PM
No idea if this could happen but sounds like as one of the Goxxed I would have to trust yet another person/organisation for this to happen.  Cry

Right now I would only trust someone with my coins if I was armed and in the same room as them. <-- see who says idiots cant learn.

On the other hand if Mark admits to loosing the key forver then hell what other choice would we have if this is even an option that is.
246  Economy / Exchanges / Re: MtGox withdrawal delays [Gathering] on: February 27, 2014, 10:34:48 PM
Anyone have an opinion on this?  Someone on reddit claims to have linked the 2011 Gox reserves confirmation transactions to addresses currently holding 200,000BTC
http://www.reddit.com/r/Bitcoin/comments/1z3cni/proofs_that_gox_have_at_least_200k_btc/

Very possible. Just check the blockchain, there are multiple addresses holding 50k coins just a couple of hops away from the 2011 transaction. Doesn't look like a theft at all, coins have been static for almost 3 years and they were not mixed in any way, it looks like the owner of those coins, which is Karpeles, sent them to different addresses in equal batches at the same time, just a few days after he did the big 500k transaction.

Closest we have come to evidence of anything other than Mark is a fat guy with aspergers and no one can get their money out of Gox.

I don't even see this as good news because if its true and that is Gox's and the IRC chats are not fake it would be a good assumption that the fucker has forgotten the pass or lost the dam key.  Cry  Edit: or was hacked back in 2011 and those are not his.

Still a lot of assumptions and still no concrete evidence.

Wish he would just tell us/ be allowed to tell us.
247  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: I lost 206000 dollars in MTGOX on: February 27, 2014, 10:27:07 PM
To be fair I really don't think he stole the bitcoins, I have a feeling people will get it back and it'll be a nice surprise for everyone

Wishful thinking but unless you know something we don't, this is pretty fucking remote at this point.

Its called DENIAL ...he was in so deep that he could not contemplate the reality

Its the same with Nigerian Prince 419 SCAMS ..they keep sending money because to face reality is too painful

... THIS FRAUD is the second largest in history... KARPELS needs to goto jail !!!

My god your right according to forbes.com only Enron outdid him. If it is in fact fraud that is and only time will tell.
248  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WHO WANTS TO SUE Mt.GOX / MARK KARPELES ? on: February 27, 2014, 10:17:30 PM
Back on the rails:

I have not said I am trying to sue Mt.Gox I'm waiting for suggested actions from a solicitor. I know very very little about law in Japan hence the need for one of the bloodsuckers Wink

From what I understand for Involuntary bankruptcy to work the company has to be insolvent ? I don't know if they are or not and no one else here knows that either.

If Mark lost the password then he also does not know if he is or not lol what a fail. Anyway if someone attempts to force an Involuntary bankruptcy then some facts might surface and I think one thing we could all agree on is that we are very very light on facts atm.

As for the FBI we also have no hard facts about what they are after ( would love to be corrected with evidence) it could be an unrelated criminal investigation but of course it could also be a criminal investigation into Mark. If you have a buddy in the FBi with insider info please feel free to share Smiley
249  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WHO WANTS TO SUE Mt.GOX / MARK KARPELES ? on: February 27, 2014, 10:09:57 PM
Yesterday you were defending Gox saying they will rise again. What happened?

I don't believe I have defended them and wishing Gox would rise again and saying they will rise again are very different things. Please note that requesting evidence they are in fact insolvent is not defending its asking for facts. I want facts and since mark is unable to help with this what other option do I have? So without being too rude bitch don't be putting words in my mouth.

@T.Stuart yep same for me . Nothing to do but get trolled till next week I guess Grin

I was referring to OP and the giant picture of a Phoenix he posted.

Didn't know the Op had posted a phoenix as well. I also posted one else where a few days ago. Honest misunderstanding and I apologize for my mistake and remark.   Embarrassed

252  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Anyone who had btc on gox since 2011 could be affected on: February 27, 2014, 08:00:45 PM
Nice!! So I loose 73 Goxcoins and also I'm going to get sued for some 5000 Euros.

Mark just when I think my ass raping cant get any worse. Got to hand it to you mark buddy.

Ye, and also there's links to CP in the blockchain, so when the IRS raids your house, they will take all your electronics and charge you for CP posession with intent to distribute, and then on top of that slap you a fine for not being FinCen registered for the GPU miner you ran in 2011. Probably you'll end up in some sex offender register and never get a job at a school, become a police, a senator, an astronaut or an NBA star.

Because of bitcoin.

LMFAO MT.Gox the home of 1,000,000 Childporn users. I'm an Idiot for using GOx but you..is mommy also your sister?

Not everyone is an American you know  Grin

No no just because I'm not american it does not automatic make me a terrorist as well as a Pedo. So don't start with that next.

Edit: I am not insinuating that all Americans are the product of incest etc so chill out.

256  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Curious- Does Satoshi really own over 1 milion of BTC? on: February 27, 2014, 01:35:15 PM
As one of the million Goxxed customers I would like to state I in no way expect Satoshi to come rescue us. I did not use Bitcoins as he intended  Cry

I will however promise to use bitcoins as intended if he did happen to rescue us lol  Grin
How was Bitcoin supposed to be used?

My understanding of it is as a replacement for the current financial system.

So for me It would mean maybe earning some bitcoins and spending some bitcoins on things i needed/want.

As opposed to what I did which was trade back and forth from btc to euros to btc like a madman.

Edit: My view on it anyway I do hope thats ok with you.
Lol thanks for informing me about that. Learning new things everyday!

Hey you asked a stupid question so I dumbed my reply down for you.
257  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: WHO WANTS TO SUE Mt.GOX / MARK KARPELES ? on: February 27, 2014, 01:33:40 PM
I and a few other users, contacted a different law firm, a more powerful one who will get for us a bigger share from the few remaining dollars Mark K still has. I am afraid our share will eat into your share, sorry.

Hey thats ok less bitcoins for Mark Grin i could live with that.

259  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Open Letter to Mark Karpeles: Voluntary Reorganization Best Option for Us All on: February 27, 2014, 01:20:09 PM
I am going to sue Mt. Gox for fraudulently selling me a product which they knew they didn't have.

I will be contacting my Lawyers in Tokyo who speak English tomorrow (Friday 28th)

If anyone want to get in with me and split costs, let me know ASAP.

If it turns out they don't have any money, would there still be a point in suing ?
Or if they still have a few million dollar, how will that go ? You were first to sue, so you get the biggest compensation part ?  To the one who sued a little late the judge is gonna say : Sorry mister, but that one pushed the trigger a little faster so he gets the money and you don't.

And to all the other thousand users who lost their money, sorry but your share will go to this user who sued first. Or how ?

Its a very good question and because I don't know the answer to that I'm already writing emails.

If that's the case its total bullshit if you ask me.
