its like the other HASHCOIN thread where people are now happy cuz they had emails sent to them letting them know their order has been fulfilled.. rofl.
still waiting Grin

Yep its still vaporware make no mistake. Sure there are lots of signs that we can take to be good signs but it does not detract from the fact that its vaporware until evidence suggests otherwise ie in depth pictures.

If we wait till Thurs then get more pictures of blue box and cant see the boards, dont have vid,s of them hashing, cant see a stack of asci chips then the whole thing as far as I'm concerned is a scam.

Chris needs to get it right this week not next week or the week after. There are no excuses that we as a community will find acceptable.

"Hey guys look at the news papers a plane crashed into our warehouse give me another day"

Us : " no get your phone and go into the burning wreckage find the chips or parts of them and show us pictures"

No one has time for bullshit excuses any more in fact no one has time for very real excuse's anymore.

@ Biffa the only reason I mailed him was to make sure we got this information. Its something a company is meant to do if you have the right to cancel. However if you don't have that right (yes there are some reasons you would not and I was concerned about a particular loophole) then the company is not obliged to inform you of this.

So TLDR: asked for information and he gave it to me and I now have a record of it for myself I believe that essentially yes I have the right to cool off.

Why this information is not already on the website? Ask Chris as it should be available to all customers.

Guy probably hates me but I just don't want to get screwed again.

Still until sufficient evidence pictures (mining porn) turn up it should be assumed we have paid for vaporware.
46  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 750 GH/s - 3TH/s Miners from $3565 - www.bitcoinultra.co.uk on: March 10, 2014, 12:20:26 PM
Make me laugh how people think they have consumer rights in the UK.

A limited company is just that, LIMITED IN LIABILITY, you cannot sue the people running it, just the company assets, what's the value of the assets?  Wink

its more faith in the Credit card companies tbh which i am really hoping is not misplaced.

I would certainly not pay with btc at this stage but if things work out in a month or two would maybeeeee consider it.
47  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: 750 GH/s - 3TH/s Miners from $3565 - www.bitcoinultra.co.uk on: March 10, 2014, 12:19:30 PM
He said yes so here you are. Sorry for horribad format did not want to dick about with it.

------------------------------------------

Yes you can share any information with the community. We will be taking full board photos and also some production videos on Wednesday / Thursday this week.

We are just trying to clear the backlog of enquiries that have come in over the weekend. I will also post some information in the forum later, and from next week with have a dedicated marketing person starting who will keep the community updated on a daily basis.

If you wish to cancel your order the "Official" method would be in writing but we are happy to accept confirmation of this by email. We will only refund you back to the same payment method you used during checkout (in your case credit card). It takes upto 3 days for the money to be refunded back to your card issuer.

Just received an email from Chris regarding our rights as bitcoinultra customers. Its not exhaustive but its exactly what I was hoping for. This is in a response to a mail I sent over the weekend asking about my rights.

Of course saying something and then doing that are very different things.

I have asked to him if he is happy with me sharing the information in the email and when the go a head is given will post it up.

I also asked about and estimated time frame that we could expect pictures.

Still I think it would serve him far better to come on here and participate as delivering  important communications to a customer base should not be by word of mouth in my opinion.

Personally feeling a little more hopeful and will just have to see this develop.
49  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much do YOU know about the Bitcoin Foundation? on: March 10, 2014, 09:42:53 AM

And may I remind that Gavin Andersen, lead of the core devs, is employed and paid by the Bitcoin Foundation. Just saying.

Could this be the greatest weakness of bitcoin ? By this I don't mean Gavin but the fact the foundation is his boss.

The more I learn of the foundation the less I like it.

Buy squid. You'll thank me one day.
51  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do we really need a "Bitcoin Foundation"? on: March 10, 2014, 09:23:32 AM
Bitcoin doesn't need any leader, that's the very reason why it's decentralized. The only leader is the community supporting it, namely all of us.

This  Roll Eyes

However the Bitcoin dev team do need to be paid for their work. The foundation fills this role and is the only working model we have ( to my knowledge)

That does not mean this model is not broken and not potentially rotten at its core.

Do we have another model for ensuring the development of bitcoin may continue without the foundation?

If we don't and no one comes up with a better one then we fully deserve any repercussions that may result from the foundations actions now and in the future.

A well designed crowd-funding would do well, I think.

The Bitcoin Dev team submit monthly their budget and relevant details, and the community donates monthly.

A website needed, but no committee needed.

That is definitely a model that could work and also negates the need for the foundation. It does not yet exist sadly.

I believe with the smarts of this community we should be able to pick and choose from an array of ideas to fix this. Just need to get their creative juices flowing. More importantly once a solution is found action must be taken to make it happen.
52  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should core bitcoin developers freeze stolen Mt.Gox bitcoins? on: March 10, 2014, 09:16:14 AM
I'm very sorry for MtGox victims, but we cannot abandon our principles every time that disaster strikes.
I don't think a 6% disaster is likely to strike again.

Devs have made decisions like this before and the block chain has been rolled back.

As a Brit it irks me I had to post an American quote  Wink but yea what this dude said.

If the bitcoin foundation or any organisation was able to do as the OP said I would drop Bitcoin in a second.
Freedom as in letting thieves roam free, or as is free to be ripped off?

Are you dropping your UK pounds?

Mostly on btc and mining hardware yes and I do hope that's OK with you.

Its an ugly world out there full of all shades of grey not just black and white buddy.

So they implement that.  Criminals start to only steal 0.99% as they know they can get away with that.  So it now changes or we just accept it?
One answer could be vote.

Yea because voting in most democratic countries has worked out real well for the common man's personal finances.

Edit: Not bashing Democracy.

No, why should the developers have an obligation to the people who make mistakes and lose their money on their own terms. Not to mention, it completely breaks the system by giving control to the devs as to the wealth of everyone else and would all-in-all result in the death of Bitcoin. I'm sorry if you lost anything, but that's life; you cannot expect someone else to fix your own mistakes.

I wholeheartedly agree with this post and while its painful as hell to say it yes I played a large part in the loss of my coins and I do not expect someone else to fix my mistake.

I do however expect law enforcement to at least pretend they give a shit since I pay my taxs. If the stock market got robbed they would be crawling all over the place well my little exchange just got robbed for 0.5 bil ow.. what was that?... ah I see btc are not real sorry to bother you police officer I'll let you get back to catching people braking the speed limit on this deserted road.

Until there is fear of punishment these exchanges can just rake in the cash until something goes wrong then stroll off into the sunset.

Thing is, why the fuck would he decide to wear his ancap (lol) like that in plain sight? Wouldn't he be weary of people noticing? Maybe he's trying to fuck with us.

Or maybe the dude just pick this cap up at some random store because the sun was in his eyes and he couldn't be sure he wouldn't cause a rail accident while operation the morning service with inpared vision.

Its called taking some responsibility and I applaud him for it because trains are serious business.

Edit: I stand corrected from the angle of the sun we can assume its well past the morning service.

I vouch for this guy

Was going to take a little look at this service so was wanting to ask you why you vouched for them?

Interested as a potential customer.
59  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin - The cheap lesson of reality to teenagers on: March 10, 2014, 08:14:37 AM
there is something ironic about the OP explaining bitcoin gambling with those same links in his sig...

You could say its a statement of free will and an open door to learn the hard way.
