We'v got a very serious problem... i have mentioned it before but somebody is trying to kill the coin. Just dumped over 1 mil. NLG.
Well I managed to get over 100 000 NLG at 100, so thanks to whoever that was. Let them try keep dumping  People just dont be dumb enough to sell your coins for under a certain amount because then that person gets to buy back for even cheaper and do the same thing next time. My Guess though is that we have been listed on one of the POS coins multipools and they dumping out on NLG to support there coins prices. |

Mintpal's all time high is about 10,000 btc per day.

Well imo I think bittrex is great, it allows me to buy Guldencoin - NLG... which I feel is better then 90% of the coins listed on Mintpal, but I know it will never get onto Mintpal because the team is too honest to use bot votes mentioned in the OPs post. They already have 3 Subways and another Restaurant in Amsterdam accepting it,also over 10 websites accepting the coin and they even releasing something special tonight. So yes bittrex does add shit coins but they do add great coins like NLG that will never get onto Mintpal because of the flawed system. Guldencoin is a pretty crappy ass coin/clone...To be honest it has nothing special about it and is a shit coin.. and whats the difference between USD, Euro, Pound in technical terms? Nothing! It's the systems that work behind money that make the difference. |

It's good to see NLG has settled at a higher price now compared to under 100 2 weeks ago. So that's +30% profit for those that bought up the lows.
I think the price might go back to 110 or a bit below as the team stated no more merchants until they finish other projects, at that point there will be a turnaround and price will settle closer
to 200 satoshis. With a increase in bitcoin prices lately and NLG going up it's only a win win for the currency.
So for me anything under 110 is a good buy opportunity as I don't think there will be any news for the coin for the next 2 weeks to a month.
2 weeks for a update would be great, it means prices will fall below 100 and I will be getting more NLG as the price dips below 110 that I can promise you. |

Hi everyone,
I would like to give you some insight to our strategy and development. You probably have noticed that after the four serious merchants it has been a bit quiet on that side. Well I would like to explain why. Our vision is still the same and very clear, making sure people can use their Guldencoins in daily life. It should be the most easy and fun payment method. And we are very realistic about that. At the moment any merchant can accept Guldencoin, the tools are there. But the tools arent good enough. They work and we are very happy and lucky with those four pioneering merchants, because they help us improve those tools. Those tools are the real key, we can say its easy and quick, but merchants have to see and feel its easy and quick. It should be so easy to accept Guldencoin that a merchant can set it up in an hour and understands how it works in 5 minutes. It should be because it can be, and thats the power of Guldencoin and cryptocurrency. So we are not actively approaching merchants at the moment, but what we are doing is working day and night to make the system better so that when we actively approach merchants we have the best solution. A solution they cannot refuse.
But this is not everything. Because just as an important aspect is the community. And wow do we have an awesome community. I cannot keep saying this enough, because its what gives us so much inspiration and energy. You guys impress us and we will do our very best to do the same!

Just an update on Mintpal voting https://www.mintpal.com/voting#NLGMonday morning - votes = 1915 Tuesday morning - votes = 1970 Wednesday (missed the number) Thursday morning - votes = 1950 Someone here is voting for us with a bot...... and we are being penalised for that. We've lost an estimated 120 or more votes. Not only that, we're dropping in the rankings. Currently we're 70 - we were 68 previously. This isn't only due to the bot-votes removal, but because other coins come along, and vote stronger than we do! This needs to be a constant community push by everyone. We can do this I don't think it was bot votes we got, I think it might of been someone with 2 or more accounts on mintpal voting for us so it was coming from same IP/machine, real bot farmers cycle IP addresses so the real cheating coins don't get picked up. About our new website
It isn't finished. And by that we mean its never finished because we will keep updating it, with content and support topics. We will listen to your feedback and keep improving. A lot of stuff will be added in the coming weeks.
Support Rewards Program
Also we will launch our "Support Rewards Program" effective immediately. What does this mean? Every well written support article will be rewarded with 5000 NLG. Just to add, even if 5000 people start actively using NLG in the Netherlands a price of 1000 Satoshi would easily be maintained.
Lets workout how much btc it takes to maintain current price.
576000 Coins / day
Current Price is 115 sat, at these prices if all coins were put on bittrex to be traded we would need 0.66 btc everyday to keep up a price of 115. Now not everyone is going to dump out and if the coin has more use, more people will hold. So lets say 50% of all coins mined get dumped out. That is 0.33 btc daily, over 365 days would be 120.45 btc to buy up 50% of the NLG mined this year.

I think the dev had the value of the Guilder in mind when creating the coin.
The coin is based on litecoin wich will have aprox. 84mil. coins.
This coin will have aprox. 1680mil. coins. thats 20x more coins.
So when litecoin is 1 for 10 euro and you divide this by 20 it's 0.50 euro a guldencoin.
Back in the day the guilder had an exchange rate of 2.20 guilder for 1 euro when you divide this it's about 0.45 euro for a real guilder.
My result then is:
Real live guilder was : 0.45 euro
Guldencoin based on litecoin : 0.50 euro
and thats about : 0.0012 bitcoin.
you're my man stratagyst... I hope your calculation will match reality someday. But back to real life we first have to deal with some very pesky people trying to push NLG down. Good thing is that the sell volumes are getting less over time. So anybody wanting NLG cheap, now is the moment! The current value of NLG is quite low now indeed. I think it's a bit strange, I think it's a bit undervalued now. However, that's a nice calculation. We'll see where it ends. As the value of a coin is often based on how hard it's to mine, it doesn't really matter for paying your sandwich if you're a miner  . The calculation is a bit off, I think litecoin has a 40 year mining cycle where NLG only has 19-20 years from what I read. So litecoin will have about 80% of it's coins mined by the time NLG is done. I would say litecoin would need to be closer to 20 Euros per coin. Don't forget it was around 30 end of last year. Although if things are done right and this coin takes the country by storm, litecoin won't be in the same league as NLG when it comes to use. Infact litecoin has been slacking lately in terms of development. There is lots of ifs but I know when my countrymen embraces something we do it with pride. I am very excited for this but I would expect a future price of 0.05 Euros per coin. |

There is no perfect system but hey at least when the NLG price goes down I can still go buy a subway sandwich and get depressed over it with a full stomach instead of holding onto a coin that has absolutely no value besides a trading one.
EDIT: I do agree with you that the dev must keep a watch on the latest tech that can benefit the currency, but changing algos is just a fad, a short term fix for coins that have nothing going for them.
As you can see every coin is jumping on the POS/Multipool bandwagon now, and there will only be a few winners in that department.
but price is also important to keep a coin alive if price keep dropping then who will trust a coin that's price drop can get them loss but if price is growing or stable then people won't dump their coins but if price keep dropping then they dump with fear also if price keep dropping like this then someday it will need 10000 NLG to buy a sandwich and about tech part of the coin i never said change the algo of coin but do some tech work that make it different from other coins and attract more people into this do something that make it a great coin on first post of this thread it say "Premine for Development, Marketing, Bounties: 20M (1%)" means when they have enough fund for development then why there are not any tech development where are new tech development,bounties team should use that fund to support this coin don't keep that 20M in cold wallets Apparently there is something being announced this week, so lets see what it is. |
