361  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Best Prices of Gold & Silver for Bitcoins on: June 21, 2013, 08:41:09 PM
I would assume mtgox, btc-e, and bitstamp, as those are the largest three USD exchanges.

"Two weeks"? Smiley
363  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTB] Bulk FPGAs on: June 21, 2013, 06:45:32 PM
And you're not at all flexible on that pricing, huh?

I could do 20 1.15y clones at $700 each.  Bit more than you're looking to pay, but I have inventory in hand.
364  Economy / Digital goods / Re: [WTB] 1$ VCCs on: June 21, 2013, 02:26:49 AM
What is a VCC?
365  Economy / Goods / Re: SOLD on: June 20, 2013, 09:39:40 PM
Arrived as advertised, in excellent condition.

Thanks!  Will leave feedback.

Bitweasil,

I do have products in stock but it changes rapidly. Especially on a drop like today. For instance, I just received silver maple leaves last week after a 6 weeks delay. They are now sold out and there will be six more weeks till delivery. I will always fill the order though. Even if it takes a bit.

Hope the photo suffices.

It does.  Order placed, as promised.  I haven't received a confirmation email yet, though - you may want to check outbound mail on your server.

I will update this thread when I receive the order.

Good to know.  A bit of history on the site may be worth considering, since right now it appears to be a brand new retailer coming from nothing, which does not lead to any level of trust due to the number of very similar scam sites that have been making their rounds for several years.

Do you actually have inventory in stock, or are you obtaining it as needed with orders placed?  And what is the expected "time to ship" after an order has been placed?
368  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Agora Commodities, The First Full Service Bitcoin to Precious Metal Dealer. on: June 20, 2013, 06:34:17 PM
Amagi Metals has been accepting Bitcoin for months now on gold, silver, and copper, just fyi.  You're not the first, unless you define full service differently.  There's also Coinabul.

That said, competition in this space is always welcome!

A few thoughts/comments from a quick browse of the site:

- Item descriptions are basically a repeat of the title, not an actual description.  "Morgan & Peace Dollars" is the title repeated in the description section - what years are you shipping, what condition, etc?
- Your blog has nothing on it.
- Why is a silver libertad coin 2,589.44?  Am I missing something really, really important about this, perhaps it being a box of 100?
- Silver Canadian Maple Box (500): $1,392,640.00  Huh?
- $17 flat shipping for any order under $5000?  Really?
- Your "About Us" page has basically no details.  Where are you located? Do you have a customer service #?
- "International Shipping: Detailed information goes here."  Uh huh.
- For a bitcoin focused dealer, you don't show prices in bitcoin.  Nor do you show the total in bitcoin until the checkout page.
- Literally the only references to "agora commodities" I find on Google are your store and this thread.

Domain registration information (registered with privacy guard):
Creation date: 06 Jun 2013 05:21:00
Expiration date: 06 Jun 2014 05:21:00

You only registered a company domain for a year?  Such great faith in your operations.

Honestly, you come across as a scam operation.  I'm not saying you are or aren't, but it /looks and feels/ like a scam.  You don't have any reversible payment methods supported, you have a brand new domain and at least claim to have a massive amount of metal in stock, prices are somewhat creative, and for being a bitcoin-centered merchant, you don't show prices in bitcoin.  You also make a claim to be the "first," which is something you very clearly aren't.

I'm sorry, I'm not going to be spending any money with you right now.  I'll let someone else take that risk.

//EDIT:
Unless you're willing to escrow for the first few orders, after providing photographic proof that you actually have anything in stock.

If you can provide a photo of https://agoracommodities.com/product/10-oz-silver-bar-new/ with your username, the date, and the phrase "The wild dolphins frolic at dawn," I will order one from you.
369  Economy / Collectibles / Re: SELLING: NORFED .999 RARE Silver Bullion Collectables CASH OUT FAST! LIVE PRICES on: June 20, 2013, 04:29:12 PM
What do you have in generic rounds or larger, non-collectable bars at this point?

I'm looking to pay in the range of btc0.19-0.20/oz right now.

371  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Block Erupter USB owners won't make ROI??? on: June 20, 2013, 03:08:15 PM
Delivering on time is one thing, but overcharging for ASIC products is another. I find that most of AsicMiner's products are overpriced from the initial offering. This is obviously to make money for their shareholders, but I'm not sure how long a business can sustain selling products that are not profitable to the consumer, when the whole purpose of buying an ASIC is to turn a profit at mining.

Are they having trouble selling their products, or are they selling as fast as they can produce them?

If the second, they're not overcharging.

Also, plenty of people buy at current prices assuming the price of bitcoin will go up long term.

If I were a shareholder (I'm not), I'd be pretty pissed if they weren't charging what the market would pay for their products!  They're one of very few companies shipping any quantity right now.

I don't get this "The purpose of a business is to be a charity and underprice their products so I can get a better deal" approach to running a business many people here seem to have.  It's clearly not people who have run a business or have a tolerable grasp of economics.
372  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Amagi Metals - Best Prices of Gold & Silver for Bitcoins on: June 20, 2013, 03:01:05 PM
The price per ounce tickers on the header of the site are broken, they are stuck for me as USD figures only and won't change to any of the other currencies I choose (example, selecting to display prices on the site as Bitcoin won't change the per ounce header figures to show them as Bitcoin figures).

Same.  Though what on earth happened to silver?  It's below $20 right now.  Time to buy moar! Cheesy

375  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTB FPGA Miners on: June 18, 2013, 05:45:32 PM
I have several 1.15y clones I would sell for $800/ea.  Typical speeds are 840-870MH, though it's dependent on ambient air.

I also take PayPal and credit card, so no need to get bitcoin to pay me.
376  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] 3 Macbooks - parts or repair maybe? on: June 18, 2013, 05:43:22 PM
I'll give you 1.0 btc shipped for all 3 units plus the power adapters you have, shipped to the Seattle area (USA).  PM me if you're interested - I have coin, and am willing to pay promptly.

Can do.  Please remind me in a few days.  Thanks!
379  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Block Erupter USB owners won't make ROI??? on: June 17, 2013, 10:17:17 PM
There's also the possibility that people are interested in obtaining hardware and are NOT focused on ROI.

If one wants to obtain bitcoin without playing the "fiat/btc" game, one can buy mining hardware and then play the long game.  The ASICs should be profitable for quite a while (as will FPGAs, actually) if one assumes that the initial purchase cost is a sunk cost one will not recover.

But, yes, the real money is made selling mining hardware. Smiley
380  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Block Erupter USB owners won't make ROI??? on: June 17, 2013, 09:39:28 PM
If it was an auction, then the consumers can blame themselves but if the base price was set so high as to never return a profit, I'd be pretty pissed at myself for making that mistake and pissed at the company for exploiting it.

Why is it a businesses obligation to ensure you can return a profit on items you purchase from them?

The business is obligated to provide to you what they have advertised, at the agreed on price.  No more, no less.
