361  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: April 28, 2014, 07:48:39 PM
short OT: does anyone have an idea why someone is buying up all AUR on mintpal?

The volume is only 17 BTC...either someone with btc doesn't know what they're doing or a pump's under way.

Big Things Happening

With great things happening, the Blackcoin Card, the multi-pool back up and running, the addition to Coinkite, things are looking good for Blackcoin.  However, we have to remember that in order to be utilized as a currency, we NEED merchant adoption.   Without places to spend BC, it can only grow to a certain point before it's essentially just being traded back-and-forth.

We have plenty of great people in our community willing to help out, passionate about Blackcoin.  If everyone here starts emailing merchants, chatting up store owners IRL, etc, the exposure to the merchant world is going to project BC until the position we all know it's capable of.

Let's do this BC, let's get out there and find places to spend all our hard earned Blackcoin!

Yep. It's easy too. For example, I asked the owner of these villas in Jamaica if they would accept Blackcoin and they said they would (and any other major cryptos) I'm looking forward to spending some vacation time there  when BC rises in value. Cool They already advertised that they accepted BTC, LTC and DOGE.

http://islandvillasjamaica.com

This is kind of a chicken or egg scenario.

There are limited amount of people using Blackcoin. With around 12000 wallets containing amounts over 1 BC, there really isn't enough market to justify mass adoption, yet.

Without more places to spend it, there really is no reason to do much more then speculate. Litecoin has this issue and since its really no more interesting then bitcoin is going to be its demise.

This is why Coinkite is so powerful. Since you can use bitcoin/blackcoin/litecoin interchangeably, and since Blackcoin is the fastest by far and has almost no inflation it has the most room to grow as a currency. Blackcoin really shines once you start comparing the main features.

If you want more blackcoin adoption, getting shops to use COINKITE is the way to go. Coinkite will even pay you some of the proceeds for every shop you sign up. Since bitcoin is still numoro uno the shop can use any of the currencies without any hassle and is not committed to 1 crypto's life or death.

Less risk for the company, more adoption for blackcoin and cryptos in general.

Stop emailing shops about blackcoin and start emailing shops about coinkite. They will understand the interact-like terminal and the enterprise website. They don't have to learn the wallet right away.

Absolutely. I love their web wallets as well. Does anyone know how safe web wallets are in general and CoinKite's in particular? It would seem to me that if cryptos are going to be mainstream then something like a web wallet is necessary.

btw what happened to the multipool ?

DDoS attack again. This time they tricked one of the pool devs, pretending to be a miner, so that they got the IP address they needed to get around the DDoS protection. So the pool has put in place the DDoS protection plan again, but it'll take a few hours for the change to propagate through DNS.

TA indicates BC is headed to 38000 and if really bullish and it breaks that point then 46000
vault of satoshi + people from whitecoin selling

You have charts for your TA?

I have a question about PoS and your coin in MintPal. I think your Cryptsy wallet stakes however does the Mintpal wallet stake? If I keep my coins in the Mintpal site, am i losing out?

I don't think that Mintpal allows staking. So yes, you would be losing out on staking rewards by storing your coins at Mintpal (and as you hopefully know it's never a good long term idea to store coins on an exchange)
367  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: April 28, 2014, 02:29:48 AM
Also I like MintPal's UI. It just looks so clean. They also donated 50K BC to our Coinkite cause. This is a very interesting situation since I'm sure MintPal doesn't want to get involved in the politics of this situation. Probably trying to figure out what to do since this is unprecedented.

I suspect they'll give us at least one BC pair. They've certainly heard from the community about it.
368  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: April 28, 2014, 01:50:39 AM

They can figure that out themselves. If you do this it will only look bad for the blackcoin community.

People really need to just leave the other coin's threads and stop trying to poke in to throw a jab or try and correct "misinformation" or whatever. Shit is mad dumb.

Yeah I wish people in our community wouldn't do that in other threads - we certainly don't like trolls coming over here. I know I believe in the value of BC and most of us here do too as well. So let's build BC...get vendor acceptance...promote BC's features. Contribute on the community projects portal - there was a nice idea thrown out over there this weekend. If we do those things, BC will reach the heights we believe it is capable of.
369  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: April 28, 2014, 01:43:47 AM
I never said blackcoin wallet didn't have the staking feature, only mentioned that Mintcoin has it now.

Ok, my bad. It seemed to suggest that as a reason to leave Blackcoin for Mint and I didn't read closely enough.

I gotta be honest here, I only posted in this thread because we have been getting trolled hard by a few members of BC community. Mr. Random, Alphaminer(same person I believe) and now Geode. I read a few pages back and saw that Geode proposed going on the mintcoin thread and telling people to sell and buy blackcoin. The community here shot him down pretty hard. I'm sorry, I didn't read that before I posted. My apologies.

Apology accepted. If I had any Mint I'd tip you Grin

Catching up Sad

I don't know if you're just being a whitecoiner trolling, or a whitecoiner pretending to be a blackcoiner trolling. Anyway, it matters not. I thought you at least held sincere views about blackcoin that were, while pessimistic, still useful as a temper on some of our overexuberance sometimes. But then I looked at your post history on whitecoin's thread, especially during last night and earlier today. Yes, you were able to look at the buy orders last week and saw a dip in blackcoin's price, but after reading some of the crap you posted in whitecoin's thread, no-one should take any crypto advice from you.

check my posts - last week i said sell BC when it was 50k and to buy DRK when it was 16k. I bought BC when it was 30k and sold when it was 40k last week and bought in on the stake coins.  My position on any one coin changes depending on what the investment opportunity is.  BC didn't do well and most of the community is rabid so yeh now i am pessimistic about it and spent all day dealing with BC trolls on every other stake coin forum so I don't see a problem posting that.

Anyone can check your post history and see. I'm not talking about your correct call that BC would fall last week. I'm talking about stuff like this:

R.I.P whitecoin. First I lost all my mined coins from Dafuqcoin. Now you die... This was not a pleasant experience....

Note to noobs:

When you see a 1 week old coin with 3000 people saying the coin is dead on a thread with more than 300 posts, and on a coin that already took 10% of Blackcoins market cap, that means you buy, lol.

There is no way on earth any honest actor would give that advice to a newbie who doesn't know anything about cryptos. When there is as much happening with a coin like WC last night/this morning, the last thing a responsible person would tell any newbie to do is to buy. Maybe you tell them to wait and see, or maybe you'd tell an experienced investor to take a calculated risk, but to tell a newbie to buy with that much uncertainty at that time? That's not right at all.
371  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: April 28, 2014, 01:16:40 AM
Mint's good, but we should consider selling some Mint off and buying some Blackcoin, you know, for the sake of diversification. Diversification spreads the risk around. Just in case Mintcoin loses traction and drops to 1 satoshi, you can fall back on Blackcoin. Then sell some Blackcoin and buy Mintcoin when Mintcoin is cheap, at 1-2 satoshis.

You're absolutely right. Diversification is very important, that's why I sold my blackcoins and put them into Ultracoin. Of course I already hold a fair amount of Mint. But for people looking to diversify, I think it's a really good time to get out of blackcoin and put their money into a more developed coin. The multipool for blackcoin has dried up, so there's nothing really left to drive up the price.  Angry

If people have yet to buy Mint, I highly suggest doing so. Did you see the new wallet? It actually tells you how long until your next reward, and allows you the option of unlocking the wallet for minting only, thus keeping your coins secure. Really great stuff:

https://www.dropbox.com/s/ys3qsvu18lv10vc/MintCoin.zip

And remember, Mintcoin is the only pure Proof of Stake coin listed on https://www.vaultofsatoshi.com/

For people that don't know, VaultofSatoshi is a highly regulated Canadian exchange which is important in an increasing regulated cryptocurrency environment.

Yeah, Geode has outed himself over here as trying to get you to leave Mint. And I've asked him not to, as has other people here. However, it doesn't help your case that your post is also misinformed

"The multipool for blackcoin has dried up, so there's nothing really left to drive up the price.  Angry" In your dreams.
"And remember, Mintcoin is the only pure Proof of Stake coin listed on https://www.vaultofsatoshi.com/" Not any more!  Grin

Perhaps you should follow your own advice and diversify by buying some BC?

Guys, help out at the MINT thread. Need to push down the MINT prices and get them to move into BC and get our prices up. BC is so undervalued.

why would u do that ? Its their coin, they like it, let them be. We hate when some toilet coins holders comming and promoting so dont do the same plz - -

It is good to get them to leave MINT and come to BC because BC is a superior coin. We have a better dev and a much stronger community.

They can figure that out themselves. If you do this it will only look bad for the blackcoin community.

SMH... Huh

You know IE, I'm starting to believe you about the attack from other coins/sources. They DDoS the pool again, this time by pretending to be a miner in need of help to get info from St. Gnu. http://pastebin.com/MWiXZLyQ

Doesn't matter anyway - buy orders are stacking up nicely again.

Not trying to sound like a negative nelly here, but has anyone considered we may have already hit the ceiling? Meaning at best we can hope for is to hit it again 90K sat. In every single crypto thread they are claiming "groundbreaking" "innovative" ect. Yet it always turns out the same, nothing much happens once it has peaked.

Ive made myself a decent little profit, but I'm thinking of selling out and counting my blessings. I know some will say "there is big announcement coming" but we have had big announcements and price did nothing.

Hey casper, feel free to sell your BC at any time.
377  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: April 27, 2014, 08:14:58 PM
Everything this coin needs to move forward will come in time. There should be no sense of entitlement or lack of patience when it comes to these things.
What's the rush? Everything can't happen at once. I keep repeating myself, but every day more new things happen on a positive climb. Don't expect to be BTC after only 2 months. Look around, and look behind. Realize how far the coin has come in building infrastructure.
The more it proves itself the less effort will have to be put in as eventually the BC team will be the ones getting requests to add the coin to different things. Go have a look at Zetacoin, and see how long their long term holders have been waiting for results, and they are not even getting positive concrete results.
Make requests, not demands. Make an effort to not troll other coins, they do not matter. Instead of engaging trolls on this thread, just use the ignore button. Stop quoting them, they will go elsewhere to get attention.

Exactly. Keep doing things to promote the coin, like contacting vendors like I've been doing. It's unbelievable that BC has come so far in 2 months, but we have far to go yet.
378  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ESSAY] "Shades of an AltCoin War" Whitecoin, Darkcoin, and Blackcoin at War on: April 27, 2014, 07:45:02 PM
In the interest of transparency, so that people can have information before they decide what to do with their hard earned btc, exactly how much whitecoin do you hold? Still 3 million?
379  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | PoS | No premine | No IPO on: April 27, 2014, 07:38:04 PM
You have some nerve STRATOSHIT! You spam this thread telling everybody that BC is going to 10000k while you hold 3 million WC?

Who the hell do you think you are? You keep telling the members here that you are trying to save them money? By dumping their BC?

You even said you will invest if it reaches that mark. Why? So WC can catch up?

And please stop finishing off your post with Strato. Like it has some kind of significance. You are a pumper and dumper... You create bagholders.

He's a WC bagholder himself. With 3 million WC he needs people to buy WC so he can get out.

Shades of an AltCoin War

MY CONCLUSION

The Blackcoin and Darkcoin ships have sailed. They made people who got in early and held for the months it took for the coin to go from 1000 to astronomical levels very rich.  Blackcoin in particular took roughly 32 days to move from its final 900 level to 90,000.  32 days. It takes time. Those that bought and held, I am sure are now buying very nice houses.

The past 24 hours have been filled with garbage posts which have no reliable information and lack integrity from all angles.

Whitecoin in my opinion is the next player in what I refer to as HyperGrowth Capitalization. Growth that will make millionaires out of ordinary people. It may take 32 days as it did with Blackcoin, or even longer as in the case of Darkcoin. If you remember Bitcoin took years. However,  It is the only coin as of right now that has the realistic potential to see such gains.  It has a strong community.  It's developers are actively engaged in promoting and advancing the coin into the future.  It's incredibly oversold on bad information. I wish I had more BTC to buy in.
