661  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BFGMiner 4.7.0: GBT+Strtm, RPC, Mac/Lnx/W64, Spondoolies SP10, Nicehash on: September 07, 2014, 02:03:06 AM
After some troubleshooting, it seems Morblias's root issue is a corrupt USB packet which the Monarch firmware is failing to recover from without being reinitialised.

Nasser, it all starts when a WX gets a "ERR:SIGNATURE" - from that point on, all commands are considered invalid.
Edit: Or more accurately, it appears as if "ERR:INVALID COMMAND" is just being flooded back forever, with or without another command...

Do I just start that with ./bfgminer --debug? Does it throw the log file into the bfgminer directory then? I will give that a shot and let you know when it happens again.
bfgminer YOUR OPTIONS HERE --debuglog 2>debug.log

Any idea why my Monarch would keep doing this? It hashes for a while, sometimes 5 minutes, sometimes an hour, then starts outputting this:

A debug log would probably be informational here, but I'm guessing it's a hardware or heat issue.
664  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [6600Th] Eligius: 0% Fee BTC, 105% PPS NMC, No registration, CPPSRB (New Thread) on: September 06, 2014, 05:15:43 AM
For fun I took a look which pool confirmed the about 7000 blocks which contain about 14000 Mastercoin transactions and it turns out Eligius confirmed only 6 blocks of them which is far less than the expected value given the portion of total network contribution.

So I was wondering.. are you actively blocking Mastercoin transactions? Wink
Yes, the spam filters are capable of picking up most Mastercoin spam.
Please don't play games to force us to upgrade it.

Hopefully more pools will gradually improve their spam filters too.

What you call 'games' we call 'resistance to censorship, and is definitely on our roadmap.

https://github.com/mastercoin-MSC/spec/issues/248
Thankfully, this kind of spam is futile to try to force on people, so in the end, all you're doing it making it more work to filter - it's still an inevitable reality that it will be filtered.
Maybe you should rethink your life and stop trying to force others to do things that harms themselves.

P.S. There is no censorship going on. Maybe you should invest in a dictionary.

LOL, you just contradicted yourself.
If you got 1 LTC (scamcoin) free, then he's doing altcoin giveaways...
He was doing an altcoin giveaway and banned because of that. I totally get that and I find it fair (harsh, but fair). However, I don't see how LTC is a scamcoin.

i got 1LTC free for literally nothing from him.

please unban the guy, hes not doing the 'altcoin shit giveaways' but giving away real legit stuff.

Ew, it assumes a negative rating is a scam? :/
669  Economy / Computer hardware / WTB SHA2 mining hardware at break-even prices on: September 02, 2014, 08:00:27 PM
If anyone wants to get rid of their miners, I'm willing to pay a reasonable price for them.
Note that I don't care what the market prices are, only what they're likely to break even with.
As a rule, go to https://tradeblock.com/mining/ and enter hash rate, power use (at the wall), your asking price, shipping price, and a reasonable misc costs estimate (ie, PSU if you're not including that). Set initial mining date no earlier than when it would be delivered to me.
Leave everything else (including 2% "pool fee", network stats, and conversion rate) at the defaults.

If it shows a break-even in the next year, I'm interested - please PM me your tradeblock analysis link (see "Share your analysis").

This applies only for SHA2 hardware that is already supported by BFGMiner, possibly including hardware on the "planned" list.
Non-SHA2 hardware and/or unsupported-by-BFGMiner hardware, I am willing to consider at significantly-better-than-breakeven prices (but note I will not sell scamcoins, which effectively means non-SHA2 is donate-only).

No guarantees on purchase until I get a sense for interest (or lack thereof).

I find it extremely strange that Luke's negative trust cancelled out 9 POSITIVE TRUSTS, some from people with a higher trust rating than him who are on level 1 of DefaultTrust, AND managed to bring the guy down to -5 trust points. Last time I checked negative reputations decrease trust by 0.5-4 points.
That does sound odd. Maybe the forum has a place to report bugs?
671  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think BiPolarBob is crazy ?? *share your deals you did with him before* on: September 01, 2014, 06:50:00 AM
He's not banned (AFAIK), I just don't trust him personally.
Why everyone else here seems to think it's their business whom I decide to trust, I don't know...
672  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think BiPolarBob is crazy ?? *share your deals you did with him before* on: August 31, 2014, 10:20:26 PM
He's been doing that in Bitcoin-OTC for the last few days.
Really? Well, I haven't been that active lately. It would suck if he really does that, because that is really sketchy.

Asking people to send him bitcoins and he will double them, is in itself a negative/harmful act, even if he follows through.
Where does he ask that? I have never seen him make a post like that.

I don't trust people who are either scamming or teaching people to be scammed. That's a perfectly valid reason ("excuse").

He's helping people out, but i guess you're just too thick to notice that. Good job on abusing the trust system.
Teaching people how to be good scam victims is not helping them out.

People are such cynics these days Shocked No one can giveaway anything before being accused of being a scammer, thief, etc, etc such as in BiPolarBob's case here.
Giveaway is hugely different from "send me your bitcoins first".
678  Economy / Reputation / Re: Do you think BiPolarBob is crazy ?? *share your deals you did with him before* on: August 31, 2014, 04:30:37 AM
He also paid me from the same address to confirm it was his: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/9768004/proof/proof4.jpg
This proves absolutely nothing at all.

But guys, PLEASE, remember to exercise caution with "too good to be true" deals. While BPB's case really is true, it's very atypical, and people should exercise caution and do their research before making a decision when trading on similar "too good to be true" deals.
pirateat80 was "really true" too... until it wasn't.

Where's the proof he isn't:
1) Scamming people with different nicks, to pay for those gift cards
2) Being paid off by scammers who take advantage of those he predisposes to making foolish decisions

Even if he isn't doing any of those things, he's de facto teaching people to make foolish decisions and become scammer bait.
IMO that makes him at least partly at fault for scams resulting, whether he was directly involved or not.
679  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN] Stratum mining protocol - ASIC ready on: August 30, 2014, 03:07:15 AM
Few questions as I'm doing some heavy work with a custom stratum pool.

First off, is mining.set_extranonce being officially supported? If so, is cgminer going to be officially implementing this? I know bfgminer does currently support it.
cgminer doesn't support most things, just the minimum necessity for specific use cases.
Generally, you shouldn't need mining.set_extranonce, though.
I do, however, require support for set_extranonce. I'll do my own build of cgminer then. Just a pain to get users to use it rather than what they already have. Thanks for the reply.
Could just tell them to upgrade to BFGMiner...
Likely will, do you plan on supporting the new titans and vaultbreakers? Not sure how mining software goes about supporting new hardware. I will need support for very high mhs scrypt machines as soon as they ship.
That's mostly up to the manufacturers to provide documentation and sample units to work with (obviously if this is needed *at* shipping time, the docs at least would be needed *prior* to shipping).
cgminer certainly won't - it doesn't support scrypt at all (which the brands you mention are for).
Ah, yea forgot cgminer dropped scrypt support. Haven't done mining myself in a while. Doing some research on a large scale project I'm doing. I expect that they will provide you with enough information to give you support. Otherwise they lose business :p Haven't decided between stratum or gbt yet. Very large scale mining operation, have to be able to switch coins on the go. set extranonce lets me do this in stratum. Havent looked too much into gbt yet however.
GBT is pretty tightly related to Bitcoin specifically.
I don't know if any altcoins have put the effort into properly porting it.
