141  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: An Attempt to create a more complete freq value chart for the ant miner chip. on: July 18, 2014, 03:54:53 AM

please try to underclock to 215.625

and to 206.25

the above codes were from my hand calculations, GH speeds added. 215.625 gives me 1100Gh and less than 1.1% error rate

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=589429.msg6485048#msg6485048

so 206.25

and 215.625   were both developed by klondike_bar

        option 'freq_value'    '6206'  #215.625M
        option 'chip_freq'     '215.625'
        option 'timeout'       '18'   maybe 17

        #option 'freq_value'    '5002'  #206.25M
        #option 'chip_freq'     '206.25'
        #option 'timeout'       '19'  maybe 20

these 2 can be tested

Neither clock freq worked with the antMiner S3, nor did 275 fyi Wink

That is a NEGATIVE on both clocks, chips would not run.

When you setup the fixed address, did you do it at your router by mac address, or on the S3?

EDIT: Never mind... I re-read what you wrote.  Since you included the comment about setting up the DHCP server, you obviously didn't just put a static IP in the S3.  Duh... sorry about the stupid question back at you.

Yes by MAC @ your router..

Well after 5 hours of testing all I have to say is BLAH!!  Overclocking even with 4 PCI-e connections does little.

218.75 Clock:

miner 1 / 444.95 @ Miner / 463.36 @ Pool
miner 2 / 427.78 @ Miner / 432.18 @ Pool
miner 3 / 443.52 @ Miner / 454.49 @ Pool
miner 4 / 410.05 @ Miner / 410.58 @ Pool  --- Indicates 1 chip as " - "
miner 5 / 427.41 @ Miner / 413.85 @ Pool

250 Clock:

miner 6 / 464.32 @ Miner / 479.65 @ Pool  --- Indicates 1 chip as " x "
miner 7 / 450.27 @ Miner / 417.84 @ Pool

will continue to mess with timeouts to see if anything works as for now not getting a stable 441 GH/s, but on a few. ;(

Hope B2 is better!

General questions about the S3 now that mine have been hashing for a few hours...

1) Why in the name of all that's holy does it randomly beep?  Every now and then it just goes "BEEEEEP!" It's not like it's rebooting... it just decides to let everyone know, "Hey, I'm here!  Pay attention to me!"
2) I know the "o" in the miner status means "OK" and that "x" means "error".  What does "-" mean?

General comments:

1) At stock clocks it hashes almost exactly to spec on p2pool (my local node).  Initially it was around 450GH/s, but after settling down and going for a few hours now, it's about 439GH/s.
2) Overclocking it has far less effect on p2pool than on another pool.  For example, at 250, I get about 455GH/s on p2pool.  I get 500GH/s elsewhere with the same settings.
The beep is internet connection lost or failed to get work. It will retry to get work or listen for the internet connection up to a point. If it keeps hashing then its doing what its supposed too.
The config now allows you to turn it off if it is really annoying.
I did turn it off, yet it still will randomly just let out a beep.  It hashes away happily...then BEEP...still hashing...I think I'll beep now...

It happens at all clock speeds on every pool I've configured (my local p2pool node, another p2pool node, Eligius, BTCGuild, and yes, the pool that shall not be named).

My miners were doing the same random beep as you describe, I setup the dchp server to fix an ip for each and the beeping stopped. Too many iDevices on the network seemed to cause too much conflict for temp. leases.

Same experience with Eligius.

While GHash, BTCGuld both get 500+.. Looks like they run to spec, but P2Pool is 14-15% less at the moment

Happily hashing away at ~500GH/s

I am posting setup / support / oc tidbits in this thread https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=699064.0

These numbers are Great. I am not seeing ANY where near that with mine. I am giving it a few more minutes before passing judgement but so far very disappointed.

I am testing across a few pools so..  time will tell..

I have only been able to get upto 225 with 2 PCI-e cables without chips getting crazy, anything more needs 4 PCI-e connections.

Humm.. mine still says unshipped it appears they just did not update the site yet..?

Goto UPS.com then along top click "Tracking" then "Track Shipments" after page reload along the left side you will see space for adding tracking numbers..  UNDER THAT you will see "Track by Reference" choose that paste in your order # from Bitmain site and then SUBMIT..

Negative

0012014063014113755580a8xUHS065A order number.

When did you order? Day1 or Day2?

Day 1, I revised post, checking the wrong way it appears they have found it and it is in shipping.  No real details but they never give those until I got a tracking # an it's in left china.

Right on, I tried your way but the site would not let me choose Canada, damn IP tracing..  Anyway Glad it work for ya, maybe something with the Canada division of UPS

Guys, I just copied my ORDER ID from BITMAIN website to UPS -> TRACK BY REFERENCE and it worked!

S3 were shippied earlier today and will arrive to my house at Monday

Package, Freight or Mail Innovations? Did you fill in the destination country and zip code?

Order I'd doesn't work it says enter a valid tracking number

You have to click on "TRACK BY REFERENCE"

I just tried this too and it worked. Just kept it at package and added nothing more..  submit and there they were

Can you guys elaborate? Did you get a shipping email? Did you see at tracking number on the website?

EDIT: Just checked my UPS MyChoice. I cannot see the shipment, I can see my Amazon shipments without a problem, though. I am guessing mine isn't shipped yet despite me being one of the first ones to purchase.

No email yet, site is not updated yet.

I logged into MyUPS, under tracking I choose Access UPS My Choices, that pulls up the calendar and BAMM!! there they are 7 for Thursday, I so have a chubby right now Wink

How wrong I was...  Shipping has begun.  7 Packages inbound FOR THURSDAY.. But I am in KY so UPS is right down the way.

Swimmer makes sense, Refund applied for. I am sure I will buy more S3's but process is too "final" and loosely explained.
157  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Announcement: Bitmain launches AntMiner solution, 0.68 J/GH on chip on: July 15, 2014, 02:44:18 AM
You have bought B1~B3 of S3. We will issue you a 10% value coupon. However, you have the option to give up the coupon and apply a 7.7% refund.

So if i apply for the coupon or refund will my antminer order still be valid?

any reason why antminer is doing this? because of delay?

S3 specs were reduced from 478 GH/s down to 441 GH/s, so they are refunding/discounting to fix it
158  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 15, 2014, 02:32:26 AM
forgive me if this has been answered. Didnt see it.

Does the coupon apply at one coupon can be used for one future order?

I ask cause I ordered 20 s3-b1

so if i get 20 coupons, i have to buy 20 more units to use them?

+1

Great question, BitMain are you going to issue 1 coupon worth 10% off total S3 purchase or will it be like the S1/S2 coupons which have to be used individually?

An answer would be nice as making a decision without it will leave only one option for me...  REFUND.
159  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S3 Discussion and Support Thread. on: July 14, 2014, 05:44:46 PM
Anyone got their S3 shipped today?

Nope, not as far as I know.

My order create time is 2014-06-30 14:32:01.0, and still unshipped.

Looks like BitMain is hiring...

Corsair's PSU's have gone to shit the last 3-4 years since they stopped using Seasonic as an OEM.

For me, The best value 750w right now is the XFX 750 pro/core/black , Seasonic internals, £60 each. Smiley

They do spec well, but why don't they offer something in the 1KW+ market. I will be using the EVGA 1300G2 to run 3 S3's, since OC'ing looks like a no go for the first few batches no need to hook-up the 2 additional PCI-e connectors.
