241  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Braiins OS: open-source mining firmware [S9, T1]. New release includes AsicBoost on: November 27, 2019, 07:06:12 AM
i have a little issue i cant figure out,

have 4 s9i miners , booted using sd card, clicked install nand option ,

reset jumper and re-boot and from there i cant get back into them ,
not sure if its not booting from nand or somthing , but when i put the
sd card back in and boot with jumper in sd card boot posision they
work just fine  , what could be causing this  ?

Thanks
FM

Sounds like you're not moving the jumper back. If moving jumper back it will boot from the control board. Make sure you gave it enough time to install on board too.
242  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: SSH Unlock Tool For Antminer S17 and T17 on: November 26, 2019, 07:57:15 PM
If you are running an S9, S9i, S9j, S9k, S9se with May 2019 firmware or older. You can remove signature check using this file: https://asic.to//files/Firmware/S9/signature.zip and unlock ssh.
243  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What to do with all the old s-9s. on: November 26, 2019, 08:19:54 AM
Ooh, firmwares. Maybe in early December I'll have time to test out some of that, rig up S9 space heaters for the new shop. I've seen BM1387 go below 70W/TH at the chip and landing a couple machines below 80W/TH wall would be nice.

If you don't want crazy hash rate then you can go below 70w/th but we are talking really low hashrate.
244  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What to do with all the old s-9s. on: November 24, 2019, 08:41:02 PM
Yeah, it works on I and J. I am not 100% about it working on the K so hold off on that I will confirm because otherwise you got to flash the board back to life and it's a major pain in the ass.

This is the instructions for the S9's https://asic.to/documentation/

Pardon the shitty language I have to rewrite it from scratch but I think I am going to re-write it for the S17 and T17 since the S9's are on their last leg.

There have been people that have gotten 2 s9's with 1 fan each running at 21th at 1500w off one psu. The autotune will be the saving grace for maximum efficiency.

Edit 4:

475 - 8.0 - 10 TH/s - 750 watt
550 - 8.2 - 11,6 ths - 950 watt
(78 waтт / THs)
631 - 8.3 - 13,5 ths - 1100 watt
(81 waтт / THs)
700 - 8.6 - 14,9 ths - 1300 watt
(85 waтт / THs)
750 - 8.7 - 16.1 ths - 1450 watt
(90 waтт / THs)

edit 5:

Although not nearly as efficient (or even BTC related) I just did something similar with an L3+
Just unplugged 2 boards (left the other 2 in) and it's a nice just about dead silent 250MH/s scrypt space heater.

Going to work on power and speed vs fanspeed and noise while playing with the number of boards but, it might be nice in the back room of the condo for the winter.

Makes you wonder how much gear we can keep running by doing this.

Going to play with an A721 next.

-Dave

now is that with stock firmware or are you making it worth a little harder or less through software?
245  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What to do with all the old s-9s. on: November 24, 2019, 08:21:30 PM
So the firmware I last uploaded to my thread in the software section. Also can be found here: https://asic.to/firmware-for-antminer-s9-ij-17-5-th-s-70w-th/

Can do 70w-75w/th  at around 10th.
246  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / SSH Unlock & Signature Check Removal Tool Antminer S17/T17/S15 No Installation! on: November 23, 2019, 10:04:51 PM

After some of the more recent updates, BitmainŠ has decided to lock us miners out of our own hardware. We have released instructions to restore SSH to allow us to take back our miners and modify them as we deem fit. Along with the ability to flash custom firmware that we will be releasing soon along with others the community makes!

Windows

1. Download SSH Unlock Tool
2. Edit Settings to matches your network setup. The screengrab below would scan all machines in the last octet of 192.168.1.0-255

3. Click the unlock button for the machine types you are unlocking.
4. WAIT 2-3 Minutes for the machines to reboot from unlocking.
5. Press Remove Signature
6. Congrats you now have ssh root:admin and signature check removed!
Tip: For bulk flashing firmware use BTCTOOL- Download and flash our firmware.

Please visit our site and stay tuned for some awesome releases coming this coming week!

Where's the source code?

Some random pm'd me a method of doing it that was using ida and a hex editor which yeah it kind of works I guess but they were not compiling it.

Happy birthday!

Fuzzy. I know we don't talk too much because I lurk too much... But can I have a slice of that cake.
249  Other / Meta / Re: The Bitcoin Forum is 10 years old! on: November 22, 2019, 07:47:38 PM
My 10-year anniversary isn't too far away. I love dis forum.
250  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 Volt Rocket Ship firmware mod! NEW UPDATE 11/21/2019 on: November 22, 2019, 12:45:38 AM
Sometimes it's best to pass along other firmware modifications that have been developed longer than the time I have spent on this project.

Here is a flashable firmware with some pretty solid specs that beats all the current competition. I have partnered up with another brand to help release their firmware for the US markets. That is until the team I am working with finishes the project we are working on but that is hush for now Smiley

There is a dev fee on this firmware but it is less than what you will find on asicseer and the competitors. Here are the results

475 - 8.0 - 10 TH/s - 750 watt
550 - 8.2 - 11,6 ths - 950 watt
(78 waтт / THs)
631 - 8.3 - 13,5 ths - 1100 watt
(81 waтт / THs)
700 - 8.6 - 14,9 ths - 1300 watt
(85 waтт / THs)
750 - 8.7 - 16.1 ths - 1450 watt
(90 waтт / THs)

As you can see this allows current S9's to still be profitable at the current difficulty for those with 7 cent power and cheaper.

To upgrade just flash this firmware through the console. This has Asic Boost, LPM, Auto Tune. It has triggers to restart if hashrates fall if more then 5 xxx on the chain. Min Frequency is 400mhz. I suggest setting Frequency for auto tune and clicking save. Then for the next 30minutes to 1 hour expect the machine to reboot as it tunes.

https://github.com/taserz/S9-Volt-Rocket-Ship/raw/master/Antminer-S9-xilinx3.8.6-taser.tar.gz

I am running the BixBit firmware (with Dev Fee.......) 0n my T9+. A few things I would change but generally a very solid bit of code. Am pretty certain that the per chip Frequency setting, at least in the BixBit code, works as the effect on Hash Rate & Efficiency track very well.

Have ditched using the Autotune and have spent some Hours doing all the changes manually. The T9+ is now running at a steady 10.3TH consuming 930W at the wall, which is a none too shabby 0.09 J/GH :-)

Rich

Yes as is the firmware I link in my main post Auto Tune is great. But you can always just hard set the values and be done.
251  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 and T9+ Firmware ASICBOOST original hacked , no dev fee hidden on: November 22, 2019, 12:45:02 AM
If you want to pm me your findings I can confirm it for you. My old firmware had it in there and I don't think your scamming personally since we went back and forth about firmware stuff a solid year ago. So I would be more than happy to confirm what you found is true. It's a bit tricky but a few have found it. What merit I hold on these forums is contained pretty much exclusively to the hardware and software section for btc mining so that should help your case.
252  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: EBIT E12 44TH/S on: November 20, 2019, 11:04:37 PM
I stand by my thoughts on Ebang. They are bad and people should not buy their equipment.

They have had issues with almost if not all products that they have created and do not listen to their customers when asked to  make changes.

Good luck with your new ebangs but you shouldn't be buying them.

I had an EBIT try to kill me once. It didn't work. But yeah stay away but the fight was pretty cool.
253  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: New s9k firmware on: November 20, 2019, 06:29:02 PM
I know this patches the way to backdoor it. I haven't been able to confirm other claims they make in it. I am leaning on it's a hotfix disguised haha.
254  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 and T9+ Firmware ASICBOOST original hacked , no dev fee hidden on: November 20, 2019, 06:26:24 AM
I swear I am the only one to not break the cgminer license when I released my firmware for free haha...

Granted my next release I am going to have to. Well more so I don't have the files to be able to make it open source cuz bitmain Sad
255  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Estimate power consumption at v/freq combination on: November 18, 2019, 10:43:34 PM
you can go higher than 9.4 but most no one bothered adding it to the code. It's just dumb they run like shit at 9.4 as it is haha. Although I should make a firework firmware to kill old s9's haha
256  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 🔴 [MINING PLATFORM] 🔴 CoinFly.cc: all-in-one for miners (LOOKING FOR TESTERS!) on: November 18, 2019, 03:28:45 PM
Really do not think someone should try running software from a company that does not even know the difference between altcoin hardware and Bitcoin hardware or the software used in said hardware. If they are gleefully willing to ignore the rules about where to post (altcoin mining software) what else are they more than happy to ignore?

I cam in here to type just the same. The mods will probably move it anyhow.
257  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 Volt Rocket Ship firmware mod! ~ALL S9 MODELS INCLUDING S9i S9j~ on: November 18, 2019, 12:38:11 AM
Can you share details like efficiency or power consumption? S17 vanilla or other versions?

So far only been working on overclocking. The efficiency, of course, is worse when pushing it further but tests showed it is viable to overclock with common mining farm rates. T17 to over 52th/s S17 stable 73-75/th lots to work on still. Was developing a tool to easy ssh and flash non signed firmware for mass deployment but ironing out the firmware is more important.
258  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 Volt Rocket Ship firmware mod! ~ALL S9 MODELS INCLUDING S9i S9j~ on: November 16, 2019, 08:27:24 PM
Little update

Might be saying fuck it to the S9 firmware. Currently, have a S17 firmware up and running getting over 82th/s stable without blowing it's efficiency out the window. Got solid  6-10th gains on T17's as well. S17 can go further then what I set but no point hurting our new devices. Due to the nature of how this would have to work, I might just throw together a tool that will allow the firmware to be pushed out onto machines in the command line to be a quicker deployment.
259  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: WhatsMiner M20 to be delayed 2-3 weeks (edit) may be 5-7 week delay not sure on: November 11, 2019, 09:39:45 AM
anyone getting delays with whatsminer.net
260  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: Antminer S9 Volt Rocket Ship firmware mod! ~ALL S9 MODELS INCLUDING S9i S9j~ on: November 10, 2019, 10:49:32 AM
Pretty sure it is bullshit. But I really haven't looked to much into if it is possible. But I looked into the ui of it and it was questionable to say the least.

You guys should expect an update soon as it took all of a few minutes to figure out how to get it below 870mv and most of the few minutes was booting and signing into my vm. So if all goes as planned I will release a full flashable firmware that will allow undervolting. Aside from the undervolting it already is capable of doing everything listed or a few lines of python is needed for deployment.

I almost feel like adding a .69% fee as a troll tribute to them but nah ain't about that life. Plus a local Stratum Proxy and a network redirect is all that is needed to remove their dev fee.

*edited some stuff to keep people happy
