In the second ODI of the series, Zimbabwe decided to bat today after winning the toss. Batting first in the previous match, they were able to give a huge target of 296 runs. In my opinion, this is a biased statement - Xavi and Iniesta made the greatest contribution to the team. If you remember Xavi and Iniesta won the 2008 European Championship, then the 2010 World Championship and then again the 2012 European Championship - the greatest achievement. They did it without Messi, and without them, Messi himself failed at the 2010 World Cup and then at the 2011 America's Cup. If you are solely talking about the 2010 WC, I have to say that compare the teams Spain and Argentina had. Yes, Argentina were a decent team back then but Spain National. the team was just far better. They had Iniesta, Xavi, Ramos, Casillas, and also the legendary David Villa and Fernando Torres. So we should not be comparing the international achievements here. If you wanna do so, look at what impact Messi had with this shit-current Argentian team. Without Messi, they are barely able to do anything. So, I could be biased but Messi has one of the most influence on both Barca and Argentina. |

Australia scored 303 runs in the first innings. But Australia lost 8 wickets for only 141 runs in the second innings. I think they will finish their innings in 10 overs in advance. However, Australia is already ahead by 256 runs. England will not be able to win if Australia gives more than 280 targets. They do have not that ability right now. However, if England can stop Australia by 260, then England can fight to win.
Finally Australia have set a target of 271 runs. If England have scored something around 250 runs in the first innings now this could've been an easy chance to win. During the first session Australia had the highest winning probability. By the second session this has turned towards England. If England is able to create strong early partnership, then it'll increase the chance of winning. Partnership is the main problem with the English batting side. They have failed to do so in multiple occasions in this series. Although the start looks good they have already scored 50 without losing a single wicket. If the opening pair are able to form a partnership of 150 runs then they have a good chance of winning this match. Malan and Root can come in handy if the pressure is not on them. England have scored 68 runs without losing any wicket and now they need 203 more runs to win. Burns and Zak scored 26 and 32 runs respectively. From what I have seen so far in this innings, England seems like the favorite to win the match. Both the opening batsmen seem like on a good knock and they are playing quite carefully. It's a sweep. Raptors swept the Bucks this season as that was their last game against each other. It's like they are the weakness of the Bucks team. This is what I'm thinking earlier since they really gave them a hard time until their last game of the season. If they somehow gonna play against each other in the NBA playoffs, then they will have some difficult wall they need to break to get the chance to win a back-to-back championship. The Bulls lost this one and they are now lost 3rd streak of their last games. Actually, the Bulls almost had the game in their hand those times. That 10 -4 start, 20 points lead, If they could just keep that up, It's such a disappointment. And the Milwaukee Bucks loss was kind of unexpected. They smashed the Golden State Warriors with an almost 20 points lead. On the other hand, the Hawks have a bad time ongoing. They are losing consistently by a little fraction. With ancelotti men meeting Athletic Bilbao in the coppa dereye final I think Madrid will win this cup, I think Atletico Madrid would have face them men to men but unfortunately they lose in the final then I know the final won't be interesting because Madrid must surely win that game.

That was not looking good for Freiburg against Dortmund. Only after Freiburg scored their only goal they have fighted and have hope. But with Dortmund's fourth goal, everything was clear. Now the game between Bayern and Köln will be interesting.
Freiburg scored their only goal in the 61st minute, seems they have maintained their dignity with difficulty  . Good to see that Haaland is back. But I have to say that apart from this match, Freiburg has been playing quite well but maybe Dortmund played a bit too good in this match. Even Meunier scored 2 goals in this match which seems quite unlikely to happen now and then Hopefully with this victory can bring Dortmund to competition so that Bayern Munich does not dominate the Bundes liga will be more interesting if we see competition

Surprisingly Haaland opened up post-match and talked about his transfer situation in Dortmund and that the Dortmund bosses are putting pressure on him. That is pretty unusual for him to talk so openly about it in front of cameras, but the thing is that he knows he can afford to do that. Who knows maybe even Raiola instructed him to raise his voice publicly. Haaland said he doesn't like the pressure from the bosses and timelines and that he wants to concentrate on playing soccer. Messi was a great player for Barcelona, prolly the best to ever come out of camp nou, but I'd not say that he singlehandedly carried Barcelona to glory, I know he was their most important and influential player, But Barcelona is a great club and they had a lot of quality players, Messi made them absolutely complete, but he wasn't everything, he also needed other players to function as well, what I mean is, Barca and Messi had a seamless relationship. Just take a look at how things are panning out in PSG for Messi, he isn't at his best cause he does not seem to have the sort of connection he had at Barcelona. Having said that, I still don't think PSG are somewhat ready to win the CL, they have the individual talents, but as a team, they are not the best and it could still take them a while before they are CL champions.

I guess this is a last series for Pujara and Rahane, not expecting them to get another chance in home season at all or may be bring Pujara back when we're travelling Australia but i doubt if there is any series planned for next couple of years.
Lord Thakur gave much needed breakthrough but i'm afraid its a lost cause now. We had our chances guys.
Rahane specially has been abysmal in this series and I wouldn't say that Pujara did a whole lot. He scored 44 in the first innings but was in shambles in the 2nd. Rahane had been a good batsman for tests in the past and so was Pujara but I think that they have left their good times way back in the past. If I'm not wrong Pujara has better stats abroad? So maybe give him a chance or two while India plays abroad but other than that, I think it's time to look for more options..India has some great batsmen maybe the younger players should be given chance. |
