22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is you research process for events like bitcoin halving ? on: May 01, 2024, 07:11:48 AM
Just halving or accurate information on Bitcoin?
If it's accurate information I would say Github and Bitcointalk but if it's about the halving then various sources in the Net.
It's a well known event so you source out various information by just searching the web.
23  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: May 01, 2024, 01:34:17 AM
First monthly candle in red for the past 6 months doesn't necessarily mean bearish
Let's see how today's report goes
I believe the dip would be partly related to this.
I believe Bitcoin might fill last month high around late morning or in the evening before moving up.
If it doesn't I get the opportunity to buy lower than $58K
The good news to me is that Bitcoin current monthly candle didn't immediately start rising without filling the last month high
The fall is better than seeing it move up leaving that Gap.

Welcome back Buddy
The thread felt different without him.

The most important thing to many popular individuals is their reputation
It can be seen in this board where many reputable individuals are stringent on the type of campaign they enter or promote.
Christiano and his team should/would investigate any deal they entering into and I won't be surprised if they knew about the risk but believe the reward is worth the cost.
Besides the fans should face the consequences of their decision
Never trust anything posted by a  celebrity especially on cryptocurrency
This is why DYOR is emphasised.
25  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My introductory post on Bitcointalk on: April 30, 2024, 09:31:48 AM

It's simple! Firstly, you need to use the search engine to check for what you are looking for and whether similar issue is been discussed before but if you can't find any result and make a new thread but later discovered that similar thread, you should locked the thread. I believe your question must have an answer in either thread.
The forum search engine doesn't work as should
It usually doesn't show recents post and posts of certain year's.
I usually use Google to search for post while adding Bitcointalk at the end to be directly shown related post to the searched.

No matter the crypto we are talking about, it is somehow traced back to Bitcoin. Is it because Bitcoin's price is more massive?.
Bitcoin fame here is not tied to the price buts it's utility as well as the first decentralized cryptocurrency in the sense that its concept is built around making Self custody of wealth possible.
The name of the forum is proof of what is majorly talked about but doesn't mean alt discussion doesn't exist
There are boards for that.

In addition, how do give answers to several people without making single reply each ?. I think it's more organize.
Like knowngunman has explained you can use this format
Just copy the text you want to reply to the text box and select after been highlighted you can click the quote icon at the top
It has an icon that looks like a text message, located at the second to last if not including the emojis.

First of all, I will like to welcome you to this forum and hope you utilize the opportunity to equip yourself with the knowledge being shared here on daily basis. The first thing you need to know are the basic rules. Your account was registered 3 days ago and I wonder how you said you're already familiar with the rules including the merits system and trust system, you must be fast learner I guess.
I understand your skepticism
It's rare like diamond rare to see a member that stumbled upon the forum without been referred or not an Alt.
Let me welcome the digital identity Felicity _Tide to the forum.

You should be aware like all investments, investing in cryptocurrency has its own risk and when you do start investing or earning
Make sure you study on safety and security of wallet
What's the essence of having money if you not the true owner or if others can access it without your permission.
Like many here I would advising trying Bitcoin first because compare to the alts it's safer.
Would try to recommend some links that can help in respect to security and privacy.
Securing Your Seed Phrase with Washers
[100 dots] seed phrase backup
Security and Privacy Encylopedia This one is quite massive
Never got to finish it yet.

There are many things you would have to learn if you really a newbie but a personal biased adviced would be
Invest and don't trade
In other words be a holder rather than a trader and never invest what you can't stand losing
Other things would be communicated to you by other users.

28  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy BTC sold for 16 BTC-1 mil USD on: April 29, 2024, 12:57:02 PM

So ordinary people give value to things they find passion for, just like in football, the boots KING PELE of Brazil used to play during his time can as well be placed on an auction like this too, and surprisingly you will see the amount people will be ready to pay to have it.
Sad truth. Another proof to disclaim Aristotle that humans are rational animals.
But buying Pele shoes is kinda different from this
It's inherent value was defined by Casey who is taking Bitcoin Sat's as ordinals
Satoshi never made any satoshi unique or better than the others
https://ordinalsbot.medium.com/a-deep-dive-into-rare-sats-the-most-sought-after-collectibles-da167e355018
The link above would show it's definition of various Sat's and their raririty
These collectibles are no different from ordinals so definitely don't see it worthing the price.

Personally would rather hold a real BTC worth said amount than going for a Sat, not to forget converting BTC to cash would be way easier than the collectibles.
If I don't want to invest I can better still use the money travel around and try new cuisines

With Bitcoin expected to experience 33 halving
We would be seeing 33 epic Sat's
I'm curious where the previous three are located at.

Let's see how much the so called legendary sat would go for.
29  Economy / Speculation / Re: Something is seriously wrong with bitcoin markets. No liquidity? Should we sell? on: April 29, 2024, 12:15:38 PM
I am still holding those 2 coins, although getting worried about bitcoin dropping after the halving. I was also worried about bitcoin dropping after the ETF's came out also.

Looking at your past posts you held when Bitcoin fell below your buying price and even bought another.
It all depends on your personal target and real life needs
You can choose to take some profit if you feeling scared but what's a year or two if you have already held since 2022.
Holding for a year plus  is proof that you don't implicitly need the money to survive
You can place a stop loss on $30-$35K your choice and if it ever falls below
Then you should still have a modest profit of around $20K.
But with amount like that holding Bitcoin would really net you profit that would be worth the waits and emotional battles.
so the op purchased at 44k and is now around 126k

sweating a lot and hands want to let go.

but lets see sell 50k worth hold 76k worth and you are a sure winner

still have lots of coin in hodl mode more than one  all original money is back in his pocket.

Your profit taking strategy do amazes me.
OP can choose to place stop loss below the $60K zone  selling the $50K worth since I believe it's been holding quite well.
And can choose to buy some again in another wallet if it falls way below the selling price
Nice merit by the way 7777
My favorite numbers.
30  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy Buy Buy or Sell Sell Sell? on: April 28, 2024, 09:58:32 PM
Well we did not see some big profits after this Bitcoin halving. But this is ok because I think we are still in a 'bull market' and we will see big gains for Bitcoin and alt coins this year.

But you can not want to has this thought for selling your crypto. This is not a good thing for you to think. Black Rock and Fidelity now hold 428,108 Bitcoins so that is more 'bullish' news for me to buy some more.
We are still in the post halving period
Historically it can be seen that Bitcoin never increase exponentially immediately after halving period
It's a gradual increase.

when you're talking about big news playing the role in Bitcoin bull, it's possible you're referring to meme coin and not Bitcoin. Bitcoin price is practically dependent on real principles that's not just a function of hype or any sort of media frenzy. Maybe if you've talked about the post halving effect  of demand and supply on Bitcoin affecting it price it would have made much sense but if you're waiting for a big news to break out and then Bitcoin price will suddenly sprout up, then i doubt such kind of thing will happen.
Like everything, Bitcoin exist in an environment thus would be affected by certain factors in the environment and economic factor ain't excluded.
The ETF approval was a news and played a role in the price for sometime
FTX liquidation was a news and affected Bitcoin price for some time. Don't forget Corona or the prospect of a war.
Though the news affects, it's usually for a short period of time doesn't mean Bitcoin price is immune to News.
The difference it's more resilient and not as volatile as the meme coins
If it's a dip it's probability of recovering to its previous period is waaaay higher than memes.
31  Economy / Speculation / Re: Buy the DIP, and HODL! on: April 28, 2024, 09:48:27 PM
I think better strategy would be Buy the DIP, sell at local high, open short, HODL and sell at local low. Rinse and repeat. Indefinitely. Yes, it is easier said than done. But for me, it is easier after around 6 months of watch, learn, and execute.
In 6 months time you going to regret picking this strategy and realise trading especially in future is the best way to end up in deficits.

Actually Bitcoin is the best investment that has ever happened to us
I don't know about it been the best investment but I can say it's one of the best investment currently as well as a great means in having full custody of our wealth.

~edit~
Would it be much of an hassle to make one for the total push up per day like in a format(line chart)  like the one below

to see how the number of Push up fluctuates in different days. ad helped me kick start it and am liking what am seeing

One for the team pushup total?  That's a good idea.  If you are talking about a graph for you, did you find your thread on the pushups site I mentioned?   I think I was trying to prevent bots or something, but I don't know why.  Bots are great.  Here is your thread https://pushups.free.nf/index.php?topic=10.0
Code:
https://pushups.free.nf/index.php?topic=10.0
You have an interesting Total Pushups graph.  You started off nice and easy, then took off like a rocket, then eased off a bit.  But it looks like recently you are picking up the pace.  Keep it up!

Thinking things through, it might be easier for anyone who was interested, opt in only.  For me to send a PM, containing the links to one's graphs.
Yeah I meant the team push Up per day
Gave my as a reference that it would look nice if it is a line graph.
Maybe if possible correlate it with Bitcoin closing price for the day  Cheesy
I just checked the site and I must say it's impressive
I tried it like you stated in your previous reply and I was lead to an old thread on Google that's around 2023
But with the link you just shared I can access it now.

Lol am usually free on weekends so it's easy to hit higher than weekdays where I go for work
But now I can atleast press at least 50 a session so the number would be increasing as I get more accustomed to it.

Users marked Removed are no longer a part of this campaign. We're only looking for active participants of the forum and not those that stop posting immediately there's no pay involved.

The campaign is back on track like it never paused, spreadsheet update for last week is ongoing and after that all 3 weeks of payments will be processed.  There's enough funds to cover for the owed weeks and at least a minimum of 1 month. Let keep up the good work up and don't forget to give the forum the best you got to avoid getting tagged a spammer to risk getting removed from this long lasting campaign.

👉 Bitvest Escrow Address: Current balance:

👉 Open slots might be announced after all payments has been processed, don't apply when I haven't announce an open slot yet.
An expected Good news. Thanks for keeping us updated ever since.
Hopefully this isn't taken the wrong way
Would it be possible to change the campaigns Avatar
Like there's some kind of stigma of been a spammer attached to the current one.
I don't know I feel a new or modified Avatar would work in changing most perception about the campaign.
34  Economy / Speculation / Re: 100 Push-Ups A Day Until Bitcoin Is $100K Challenge on: April 28, 2024, 04:00:56 PM

wow thats impressive. We do appreciate your dedication to the thread
Would it be much of an hassle to make one for the total push up per day like in a format(line chart)  like the one below

to see how the number of Push up fluctuates in different days.
At first I thought, I have to do 100 push ups in 1 time. I found it very difficult for me.
Later after this threat I can understand that this competition of pushup is very easy. I did 120 pushups totaling 60 for 2 days today after fully understanding the threat in last 5 days. But I can do 20 pushups at once.

Threat is a strong word and besides its a voluntary action
I have even forgotten that it was 100 push up a day for Bitcoin because it was never made compulsory
It's like showing support Now it has evolve more than that
Some of us are been consistent not just because of the movement but cause we enjoy it now.
I have always been procrastinating exercising again but the thread helped me kick start it and am liking what am seeing

With the name of the game and the usage of change
I think you from Nigeria same here.
People do hide to gamble sometimes because they are scared of been judged
There's a certain stigma that some individuals attach to gamblers and to prevent been labelled such
They hide their profession.
Back to the whot, Is not like they hiding
That's where they feel and are comfortable playing it
Our country don't really place more emphasis on gambling for whot like they do lottery.
But in recent years, Sport betting has gotten mainstream and only few are shy about it
Majority have embraced it not excluding girls
It's not uncommon seeing people discussing in public about games and odds. They call it betting not gambling  Cheesy

The thread felt weird when I checked it and realised I couldn't see Buddy's chart.
I missed him though.

Nothing wrong with making my coins worth more except the wording allows them to destroy peoples wealth whether they are guilty or not.
For the public good?
Yeah privacy coins are going to cause an apocalypse once in circulation
Would the victim if not guilty or charges be compensated?
Or they sacrificing their funds for the safety of humanity.

I'm surprised that some are picking letting their kid start gambling by 18. Personally I wouldn't encourage my kids in that direction but if they do
I can atleast offer some advice.

2. Not really a chronic gambler so can stop anytime I want. Besides life itself is a gamble. You can only stop gambling or taking a gamble when you die.

3.Humans are insatiable but there have been times where I experienced temporary joy from winnings but would be yearning for more and we all know how that normally ends

4. I don't know, I think I would have had more funds to invest in Bitcoin but we can cry over spill milk. The experience has made me who I am today.

I do not know what the solution will be of if there is one. The trends of closed and failed exchanges stealing people's money was not enough to scare others from centralized exchanges, cause they want to trust something. The exchanges can come up with "SAFU" and everyone relaxes again or were never alarmed at all.

Understanding the problem is a first start
Before a Doctor starts treatment, Diagnosis are taken after finding the problem
Solution starts coming in.
Centralization has already sipped into the bone of civilization and decentralization is seen as a form of anarchy.
The sad thing is not many are interested in privacy or freedom
Many selling their data in form of KYC for some tokens.
If it would be possible to create a decentralized exchange where changes can be made by majority vote and there would exist equality no matter how many of a coin an individual have
Everybody would be entitled to a vote as long as they hold a stake in the exchange.
The notion that the amount or how powerful a body is the more the control is one thing that's fighting against decentralization and I believe that's one issue with mining pool of Bitcoin.
Back to my hypothetical exchange
It would serve more like a market in introducing interested buyers and sellers anonymously and maybe a code or AI to serve as escrow by only allowing a connection if a user have said amount( to prevent fraud) in their wallet via explorer.
Or better still something of similarity with monero.
Well me speaking jargons
Know nothing about coding.
