2981  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Think Twice Before Answer It! on: February 06, 2018, 06:17:17 PM
You don't need to hear how bitcoin will help people since Bitcoin already help lots of people such as when Venezuela is in crisis and people moved their asset/money to Bitcoin and altcoin & more people began to donate their bitcoin to help other such as Pineapple Fund.
2982  Other / Ivory Tower / Re: What is the biggest problem for crypto. on: January 27, 2018, 06:23:16 PM
1. Cryptocurrency with good scaling solution, most coins don't handle it well, especially new coins which offer lots of features into their blockchain.
2. The community, especially the one who blindly trust coins they HODL, share FUD about other coins & want to take control over the development/community (try to remember drama before BCH fork).
3. Actual cryptocurrency usage, especially only major coins can be used as payment method.
4. Government, bankers or people who refuse cryptocurrency even though they know the advantage.
2983  Other / Serious discussion / Re: The scaling solution on: January 23, 2018, 07:25:18 PM
(...)
In short, we already have the solution, all we need to do is adopt the solutions.

Why this resistance then?

--snip--

Many reasons such as :
1. Poeple don't know the advantage of SegWit or/and don't bother do research which make them keep use legacy address.
2. People don't bother adopt new technology, it's proved by SegWit adoption/usage is only about 10%-12%.
3. Wallet or services don't use SegWit by default, still implant SegWit to their system or simply don't bother.

Totally, everybody claims, but as this is open source, the best idea as a united community as we suppose to be, we should get organized and donate whatever is in our capacity, in a well suited and transparent team, with the organic intent to fix the scalability issues for good, i bet many BTC holder will donate, i will personally donate if all that criteria are met, so there would be no more free work issue, but where can we see that kind of organization ? Huh

Or how about do something simpler but more useful such as encourage people or services to adopt and use SegWit Roll Eyes

2985  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Don't we need to increase block weight/size? on: January 14, 2018, 07:39:59 PM
Even though i know the advantages of SegWit and LN, don't we need to increase block weight/size since i think current block weight/size won't be enough if more people adopt/use Bitcoin & some people might think LN isn't really useful since they still need to pay big fees to open/close LN channel?
I know raising maximum block size/weight is risking decentralization, but i think it won't be hurt to increase it not too much as long as there's data/consensus which says most nodes still can run even after raising maximum block size/weight?

What do you think? Also, CMIIW.
2986  Other / Serious discussion / Re: 2-Factor Authentication on: January 13, 2018, 06:10:40 PM
I think no since Google Authenticator works offline and even if you only add the authentication key only with vague description/name. Unless they upload your keys and description along with google account you use on your smartphone.
2987  Other / Meta / Can't update profile avatar on: December 31, 2017, 03:44:30 PM
I know this is stupid question, but everytime i change my avatar, it reverts back to my old avatar (Orange/White bitcoin icon). I tried removing avatar and upload new avatar, but it's showing the older one.
I've tried upload my avatar and see my profile on 2 different devices and 5 different browsers, but it still showing my old avatar. Anyone have suggestion what should i do?

Edit : Suddenly my avatar is changed after 30-40 minutes, i guess the avatar isn't updated automatically.

2989  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Question about LN and block size on: December 20, 2017, 04:39:33 AM
Hello,

Recently i tried LN in bitcoin testnet and i was impressed with speed. However, as far as i know transaction in LN hubs eventually will be pushed to the blockchain/on-chain (either by the one who set up the LN hub or the users if they wish to).
But that means transaction fees still the main problem if total bitcoin transaction in LN hubs is exploding (such as 1000 tps) and all LN hubs needs/want to push the transaction to the blockchain/on-chain.

So, i wonder if that means we also need to increase block size to make sure all transaction from LN can be pushed to the blockchain/on-chain without much delay and low fees?
Also, i wonder if this table which comes from Bitfury paper is accurate (Source). Since if it's true i thought we could make sure most nodes meet required specification for increasing block size?

Please correct me if i'm wrong since i still learning about LN Smiley
2990  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lost private key. on: December 13, 2017, 04:18:13 AM
Usually it's impossible to recover your cryptocurrency funds if you lose the private key to your cryptocurrency address.
However, if you use HD wallet and still remember mnemonic words, you could restore your lost funds Smiley

Also, if you still have wallet file and forgot mnemonic words and private keys, but remember parts of the password. There are services which could help you restore the wallet.
2991  Bitcoin / Electrum / Electrum 3.0.2 error when i try edit an address label on: November 16, 2017, 07:09:14 AM
I'm having problem when i try to edit an address label, the program always not responding or suddenly closed when i do that. FYI, i use Electrum 3.0.2 and HD wallet (legacy address). I wonder if it's bug on Electrum or my PC is the problem?
2992  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Bitcoin fees reduced thanks to BCC/BCH fork? on: August 01, 2017, 01:37:05 PM
Since many bitcoiner and bitcoin services decide not to make transaction, i've seen that recent block size has been reduced and only few transactions are unconfirmed .
In fact, website such as http://bitcoinfees.21.co/ now recommend optimal bitcoin transaction fee only 40 satoshis/byte or 9,040 satoshis for median transaction.
Edit : I just move my bitcoin to another electrum wallet with new seed after BCC/BCH split and i only pay 0.00001652BTC/kb (about $0.044/kb) for tx fee which confirmed in 5 minutes Cheesy

Do you think bitcoin transaction fees can stay low even after SegWit is activated and BCC/BCH fork completed?

Rather than make a poll in a thread which isn't that accurate, maybe you should check this link instead which is more accurate : https://coin.dance/stats/age
The data is from Google Analytics and limited to 18+, so it's not too accurate since not every bitcoiner use google search engine while signed in.
2995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Do you think BU hardfork or use UASF now is good idea? on: May 17, 2017, 04:26:17 PM
Since SegWit/BU drama still on going and looks like consensus won't happen any time soon, do you think forcing miner to do BU hardfork or use UASF now is good idea (even with risk block split and bitcoin price crashing)?
I think it's not bad idea since miners have choose different solution and current bitcoin condition get worse over time.
2996  Economy / Service Discussion / Looking website which sell amazon.com gift cards on: February 28, 2017, 03:36:19 PM
Update : I've found what i need even though i know it's against amazon rules, but at least the seller obtain it in legal way Smiley

Hello,

I wonder if anyone knows where to buy amazon.com gift cards since i've tried many website, but i couldn't because various reason such as :
http://www.gyft.com/ only accept customer from US
http://www.egifter.com/ now only accept bitcoin payment with coinbase wallet
https://yestobitcoins.com/ don't sell amazon gift cards because newest amazon terms and condition
http://bitcart.io/ now become scam Sad
OR they only sell non amazon.com gift cards instead Sad

I've also tried http://purse.io/, but i'm disappointed with their services and bad customer support. I've checked Marketplace section as well, but most users have negative trust, never make transaction or have low ranks/inactive members.
2997  Bitcoin / Electrum / Transaction fee bug on: February 03, 2017, 02:14:49 PM
In short, i set the fee to 0.00099BTC/KB, but one of my transaction fees is only 0.00019182BTC/KB.
So, anyone knows what happened or what should i do to prevent that for future transaction? Also, can i set tx fee manually for each transaction?

2999  Other / Archival / Re: New forum for bitcoiners on: November 24, 2016, 02:48:31 PM
Even though the board and sub-boards looks similar with bitcointalk.org, i think this forum might be doing well if you can find loyal members.
Maybe you should do some promotion, add local sub-board and make some thread to encourage people to join your forum.

Wish best for you Smiley Smiley
