Quote from:
Bitcoin is effectively a fiat token with some hard money properties.
Quote from: wikipedia
Fiat money is money that has value only because of government regulation or law
The value of bitcoin is decided by the community that uses it in a similar fashion to other commodities its value, rate of exchange is not set by a government/central bank/private company or any other authority. in what way would you say it is a "a fiat token"?

Bitcoin will prove whether there is a globalist agenda ... If there are higher powers with great determination as many believe, then they will do all they can to stop Bitcoin.

and if this is true they will be amongst us already.

its cheaper to buy than it is to mine not everybody is here for to turn a quick buck. some of us here understand the value of the bitcoin distinct form the price of btc to paper money.

if you base the value of BTC in USD or some other centralized government regulated paper currency you are missing the point.
152  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin7 hacked: how this influences Bitcoin once again? on: October 06, 2011, 02:33:12 PM
Ruxum can't open up soon enough. I still don't trust Magic The Gathering Online Exchange's security.

I have to say, Ruxum worries me a bit too.  The fact that their trading engine was completely down for several days (sep. 27 - Oct. 3) without any sort of announcement doesn't inspire much confidence.
yep, me too. not convinced this is as legit as some would like us to believe.
153  Economy / Economics / Re: How come the bank failure destroy the wealth??? on: October 06, 2011, 02:31:42 PM
paper money is of less value now that it was before the crisis and if you have savings or investment in paper money then your wealth is decreased.

154  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Sourcing bitcoins on: October 05, 2011, 07:53:09 PM
What are the easiest ways to anonymously get bitcoins to start trading in in the first place? I know I can go through a trade exchange, but then I have to give them my paypal/bank account/blah details, and I'd rather not do that.

I'm wondering:

how traceable are virtual credit cards?

can I buy bitcoins for cash (EUR or GBP) anywhere?

'941 Khash per sec' your probably will get about at the most 10 shares accepted per day. a couple of hours per share. you might want to check out https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparison you will need at least 150-200Mhash per sec to make it worth the cost of running your system.
159  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price halved, miners leaving, is there a future for a market? on: October 01, 2011, 08:15:08 AM
the people who are leaving, failing or giving up are those who are short sighted seeking instant rewards from get rich quick atitude. the community will be much better off without them.
