I want to know what you guys think about this, I have stopped gambling but still trade so does this mean I am still gambling?? I don't trade on basis of luck I trade using my skills would it still be considered gambling??

Maybe to some other people trading is just the same thing in gambling. But for me, trading has big difference to gambling, in gambling you will loss first big amount of money before you win in the games. I don't know, how op get the thought about trading with this comparison. Gambling is most riskiest investment option bitcoin but trading is preferable option for most of the people in the forum and outiside. Need to follow the price changes and work on it get the profit with the tactics. In gambling you need to depend on the luck factor only. Gamblers will do trading to get back there loss. But the real traders never choose to gamble to waste their bitcoins. They only concentrate on their business. We can send bitcoin anywhere and anytime as long as there is Internet connection. There is no rules and restriction for bitcoin transaction. and also there is no limit for bitcoin money transfer. we can send N number of bitcoins from one country to all over the world. But if we convert that bitcoins to fiat currency we have to give bank details. Here the govt will ask how you got this huge amount? What will you give an answer? When i try to tell poeple about bitcoin they think of it as an illeagal way to get money thye think that i am hacking or stealling credit cards, or they think i gamble with it, the only way that you can convince them anout bitcoin is telling them how do you earn bitcoin from signiture campaigns on this forum, and how you can earn money from just speaking with peopole about differnet things.
Yes if we talk about bitcoin in front of friends or any other people they think we will earn it from gambling. Because they don't the other way of earning bitcoins. Quiting gambling is not easy, we all love gambling and we all want to win in gambling, but if you really want to quit it is quite hard or not easy for us, is it not easy to quit for something that you love, try to quit little by little and suddenly you will realize that you have been moved on, dont rush things everything comes to a perfect time.
You have to quit what you love if it is not giving your fun anymore, it's useless to maintain a thing that will only consume our money. Maybe we have to accept the fact that gambling is not for everyone especially the indiscipline people. Yes gambling is not for everyone. But it will get attracted to everyone this is the problem. Most in gambling you will loss in the end if you play often. but even is like that, still most players in the game became addict in a long run. Once its happening it will be hard for them to win in the gambling site games. That's the average percentage was 90% in losses while in winning was only 10%. They cannot be addict all the time because they will not last, after every wrong decision, regrets will come and I am pretty sure if you became addicted in gambling you will not enjoy what you are doing because you will keep losing. I think the OP is already happy if he really invested 3-4 bitcoin since he posted this thread last April. His money has already doubled if he really bought some. In investing the risk is always there 100% all the time so you have to think plenty times if you put your money in investment. For me bitcoin is a good choice as long as you know how to diversify your money in the world of crypto for sure you will be one of the many who became millionaire.

It depends on how do you play it. It's wrong if you are addicted and wasting too much money to it. However, for some peoples like me, it's fun and very important. It helps me relax and earn some money, makes me happy when i win some money  For you, gambling is not wrong because I am also like you I will not play gambling to earn money. I use gambling just for my relaxation purpose. And I agree that I will do sports betting, but I have not addicted gambler, and I will never make time for gambling. The time i decided to quit gambling its not easy to me because when i think my loses i want to gamble again. That time i decide to help my self not to gamble anymore. Now my life are good because more than a year i stop gambling.

In order to quit in an easy way, you must be able to adjust all your habits into minimum until you pass the big test of your own. Precisely. If we know that we are not winning anymore and just keep on losing in gambling every time we try it, then it just mean one thing, that we should QUIT IT right away so that we could prevent too many losses also to save our money and not to lose it anymore. We have to be serious about quitting it and not just fooling ourselves that we are going to quit it, but the truth is not. All gamblers know this truth that is we started to lose money in gambling we should stop our game and start some other time. But no one will follow this method. I would invest long term for bitcoin i think is good to buy now with price dumping. Ether will be my second choice for a short trade. I also love Xem for long trade cause it also has big potential is like a sleeping giant. The amount is not less and not high, so my suggestion is instead of investing in bitcoins, you can buy some new altcoins. We have many new altcoins in the market, and they come up with good and strong technology. In future, they will become more popular. And one more thing the altcoins will not take much time to increase the price. Within 2 or 3 days the price will be double. And you can buy many coins at a time with your $500 capital amount. |

Buy/Trade coins with high volume, this is for short trading. But as for me one of the coin i will be holding is Xem (Nem). As for bitcoin just buy on those dips and hold.
I go for long term coins like ETH ,Waves and Dash coin .Short trade is also good but you have to have atleast a good amount for you to earn a much better profit and so you can do cut loss . ETH is best but now the price increased so for daily traders this is bit expensive, you have big investment then you can try this coin. Future purpose supposes if you hold for a long time then buy ETH and hold it I will give you the assurance that you will make a good profit. Not to wait for a long time just hold it for this year end you will make min double profit. Aprt from ETH, the Waves and Dash coin is also good to trade. |

Of course I'm not. I always gamble woth discipline where in I only play what I can afford to lose. I think it would be shameful if we choose to gamble what all we have where in we can not afford to lose it. Yes in gambling if we use the money how much we can afford then it is fine, and we no need to worry about others. But the money exists and start to use personal money then we must worry about others. Not outside people your family members know that you are wasting money in gambling it is a really shameful situation. But gambling within your control is good. I don't feel shameful because I can control my feelings in gambling. |

I hope my experience will help others when it comes to staying away and avoiding gambling games. There will always be a way to stop gambling addiction, you just need to make yourself believe that you can do it. And there are a lot of people that can help you with every struggle of your life, you just need to ask them.
I agree with you and at the same time the saying, If there is a will there is a way. It all depends on how we wanted to change once we know we are trapped in addiction. But the only problem is recognition that we are addicted or not. If we failed to recognize and accept things. We can never be able to escape or recover from addiction. It all start with acceptance, then will and dedication. Though I can say, I am far from being addicted in gambling because I can fully control myself and I do not mind if I can gamble or not. Always remember that quotation, if there's a will, there will always be a way for it. And I have seen a lot of my friends that used to be an addicted gambler but they managed to come out of it. We do have our own preference when it comes to solving our addiction, it's a sickness and it must be cure or better do some preventive actions cos' prevention is better than cure. As a gambler we are the one who make the decision when to get in and get out, if we have a problem and we get addicted I think we should quite on ourselves because there is always a solution whatever problem it is. You need to accept that you made mistakes and move on, if you can correct then it's good to say but if no chance after every effort you have to forget gambling at all. We may have the decision when to get out or get in but once you are in, the problem is that you can't get out of it easily. There are major problems that gamblers who want to come out but they can't. It's either they are totally addicted in gambling, whether they win or lose they just love to play and for the recovery of losses. Yeah. Sad thing is that there are people who can't be under "theres a will therea a way" saying. Some people may think they have the will to stop but their mind and bodies would do otherwise. These cases are severe addiction most of the time requires help from several people. Professional help alongside support from family and friends are the best help that these people can get. The addicted gamblers must require the family support and friends support and professionals help otherwise they can not stop gambling. Gambling addiction is very dangerous than any other addiction. It will always matter, why im saying because there are people wich does studies the market, the teams, collect information and them make their bets, while newbies just bet without any information, sure the lucky is the key of the sucess at the most gambling but strategy and information will always let you with better ods to win.

Guys, I have some more bad news coming in. The BTC-e site has been down for well over half an hour now. I hope it is just another DDoS attack, and not a hack targeting the coins in the hot wallet. And BTW, the Bitcoin exchange rates seems to have stabilized a bit. I am analyzing the rates in bitcoinwisdom.com, and the prices seems to have stabilized at $2,500-2,600 levels.
It's practicly every bitcoin supplier that is having issue's, i guess to many ppl where trying to buy in on the low price. I've been scavenging tons of websites and most of them have their limits lowered or where either not working or where either asking a shitload of transaction fee, its outrageous, anytime the BTC downs, it seems to be very very hard to get a decent amount of bitcoins.. Already bitcoin price drops $400 in half day. this is huge loss those who are waiting for to hit $3k. I don't know for what reason the price dropping. it went up to $2550, but now it is recovering. Maybe you right the price is going to stable at $2500 to $2600. But still, it is a good price and those who are waiting to buy bitcoins this is the best time. I hope it will recover slowly. |

Yes, its gives lot of lessons in my life because it teach me how to value a money, time and things. Sometimes a gambling gives a lesson gives us opportunity in discover many things in our life. Gambling gives lesson in positive like we become winning at the end if we try to reach our goal and our goal is to win and to earn. We can learn the importance of time. We learn that sometimes we need to use our skills and knowledge in gambling because it is very important to our selves. I have learned a lot and control our selves, and learn how to save money.
One thing i must agree that gambling will teach the value of money. and time and other things are next, but it will teach us how hard to earn money in real life. Before doing betting, we think only future that means if we win our bet how much money we will get. We will never think if we lose that money means how hard to earn that money back in real life. |

The house makes money when people are losing, so I think it's in their interest to make it less likely that users will make money on it, that's why I think that's not a good idea, unless you're really into it for fun.
Obviously, whether or not some people will win or some people will not, the fact that they are winning or losing, some of it is gotten from the players pockets and other ways that they can get money. Ultimately, it's the house that is winning. That is true, the house always wins in the end. There would be players that win but the amount of players that win are probably less than 1% of the total number of players if you look at it in the long run. Because gambling is the business of the casinos, they will always win in the end. i agree with you but i think it's not that worse. think about it, if only 1% of gamblers are actually winning, why would anyone want to be in it at all? i don't think anyone gambles to delibarately lose money. the winning percentage is way more than that but you're right in the fact that the number of people with losses are a lot more than those who are winning. You can calculate from anywhere finally the winners are casino owners and the losers are players. Not only in casino games site if you check in sports betting site also the same result. House says only 1% edge but it id for us or house we don't know because we only lose every time and house only win at the end of the day. It is only worth if you play for fun. |
