421  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Newbies are safer with top altcoins on: May 01, 2020, 07:05:40 AM
Yup you’re right about that. Even as a newbie I never took interest in new coins, and I have been around here for some years before I even started looking into altcoins like Ethereum and Litecoin and other top altcoins.

But, some newbies will join the crypto space and within a short time they are already looking for altcoins in the name of cheap coins that would bring huge returns within a short time lol. Most of them are always in a rush, and they forget that this is an investment, they forget that there are risks involved and you’re likely to lose money instead of making profit. As you have said, it’s not good for them to go for the smaller coins, it’s best they start with the top coins.
422  Economy / Economics / Re: How can the corona virus end Faster and economy reopen on: May 01, 2020, 06:34:50 AM
The fastest way to reopen everything would be finding a way for infection not to kill people. That could happen in few different ways, one is definitely a cure as a vaccine which would basically recover everything who comes in contact, another would be virus evolving enough that it tries to survive as long as possible which would include not killing its host as well, and the last one would be the infection rate dropping, like finding out a way that not only masks but some other form would mean virus will not spread this quickly.

All of those looks like it may take some time and that is why we are in lockdown in many places, as long as we are still in danger the economy will not reopen, or maybe it will reopen in the face of danger anyway and that would help the economy but hurt lives.
423  Economy / Economics / Re: The drying oil on: April 30, 2020, 07:36:56 PM
Okay we get it, less cars, less vehicles traveling so the oil is not that what we really need right now

But, why is the price be looking like this? It is not only the cars that uses oil, we also have a lot of machines that isn't running without the oil
In a situation like this it’s going to be difficult for stocks like oil to move forward, no one is buying them. The report is that the sellers are even begging to sell their oil. How can oil be growing when it’s the sellers begging to sell their oil? Covid-19 has changed everything, and it didn’t just affect oil, other stocks were affected as well.

Oil is not a thing right now, as energy is slowly taking over. There are now lots of electric cars that don’t need any oil to power them. As time goes on, the automobile industry might start releasing more cars that are electric cars and less of cars that makes use of oil.
424  Economy / Economics / Re: Internet would become the most expensive commodity in the world. on: April 30, 2020, 05:22:11 PM
Let’s be true to ourselves , is that how it’s meant to be? Everything should be made affordable at this time. It’s still their choice though, they may decide to make things to be costly for a lot of people or they will choose to make it easier. Facebook is the only social media that allows people free access for a limited time per day, but the free mode on Facebook is not really fun since you’re not going to be seeing any pictures or videos, it’s just text.

And as for giving free internet, I don’t really think that those in charge will agree to that. The money that network providers make is what they charge you for data and other things. I only wish they will reduce the cost for data, most especially at this point in time.
425  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Payment platforms that support Visa or Mastercard cards = the future of Bitcoin? on: April 30, 2020, 01:57:15 PM
Those platforms are really good, but just like the second comment here pointed out, they are all at the mercy of the banks and the likes of Visa and MasterCard. The original way that Bitcoin is meant to be used is just sending from your wallet to another wallet, and nothing more.

I have used such platforms and of course I still make use of it now, one of them is BitPay, and that's what I have been using for quite some time. When you create the BitPay wallet you can order for their BitPay card by Visa and when you get it, you can fund it through your wallet, and then make withdrawals through ATM cards. I guess such ATM cards are not available for all the country people hence if new platforms work on that then they could easily get quicker success than other giants in payment processing field.
426  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Russian Central Bank Admits It Can’t Ban Bitcoin on: April 30, 2020, 12:04:16 PM
Yup they are right about that, there is no country that can ban cryptocurrency.
If they decide to ban, people can still be making use of it and they wouldn't know about it. Unless they are going to try to restrict the access the people in their country has to cryptocurrency websites. Even if they do that, there are people who will look for a way round.

In countries where Bitcoin is banned, people still make use of cryptocurrency and buy and sell it on decentralized sites and the government is not aware of it. So they can't stop people from making use of Bitcoin and that's the truth.
427  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: April 28, 2020, 04:59:15 PM
The bad boys is a very very well known thing in the NBA, its one of the most dangerous times of basketball, if you check out youtube you can see many videos of them actually really hurting players, not just the way you saw on the show but actually injuring them.

They got penalties like crazy and flagrant fouls and many other stuff, probably never broken records, but they got the job done because even if you get a foul call, even if you get punished for like 5 games or 10 games, in the end you know that anyone who plays against you will have at the back of their head a feeling of not just full on attacking your rim and people didn't shoot threes back that days, sure some did but one player shoots more threes right now than entire league back then. So it was good, Pistons kinda made the same thing in 2004 as well, same logic and it worked again.
428  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto success takes time on: April 28, 2020, 04:22:15 PM
People don't want to give projects some time to grow, they forget that coins like dash, litecoin, Xmr, Bitcoin etc have a rough start, I'm just saying crypto investment takes years, just because a project drop in value doesn't mean they won't grow better in future.

Projects don't just turn huge in a year, there will be lots of volatility and price loss, for long term hold be prepared, if you can't then go for top coins
Cryptocurrency takes time to grow, but it’s not a must that you will invest in the new coins. Anyone that’s not ready to have that level of patience for the new coins should be investing their money in the old coins that has been around for a long time, those ones can be trusted. Another problem why people don’t really like the new coins in the market and don’t trust them is because lots of scam projects and bad ones in the market.

When things are not moving the way they expected, they start feeling like it’s another one of those bad projects. As of recent, I have been investing my money only in the top coins and nothing else.
429  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What will be the next movement in the market on: April 28, 2020, 03:24:01 PM
Looks like the corona virus will affect cryptocurrency too, I think that price will fall a lot, because people will need money and will sell Crypto, what are your thoughts about that?
Yes you’re right about that, a lot of people are going to be selling their coins to be able to buy the things they will be needing right now.

But from another angle, the buying rate might continue to be higher than the rate of selling. It’s possible that a lot of people might see this time as an opportunity to even start buying Bitcoin and that will trigger another increase in the price. And the next Halving is approaching, we already in the month of May, although I am not trying to hype the event that’s about to take place, but it’s likely to lead us to the next bull run. It’s up to you on whether you want to have patience and continue to hold or not.
430  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's your trading strategy? on: April 27, 2020, 04:37:15 PM
for me, the most important is using my own money for trading to avoid getting debt, practically, it is better to have a sufficient amount for financial support before I go through the expected type of business because of borrowing money through lending is riskier and it is easy to drain and besides, I believe that using our own money for real trading is very comfortable with sounds great.

Yeah, the only time I'd ever borrow, even margin for example, is if I was in desperate situations. Problem is most people borrow to make money in this case, not accepting that whatever money they deposited in is likely to be lost. Business borrowing is different, that's capital for actual commerce. Trading on broker platforms is not that.
Yeah, business borrowing is something even suggested if you are growing big enough, if you have a place that makes a decent amount of money that could potentially even make more money but you do not have enough capacity to cover that difference, you take out a loan and expand your business to cover all of it and make a greater revenue in the end.

However, traders thinking the same way about how they are making a decent return with the amount of money they have so they could make even bigger profits if they had a lot more money and takes out loans for it as well, which is not smart because a business revenue is usually a linear thing, if the company is doing well enough it will continue to do well, they usually have contracts to prove that, not that all of them can continue but most of them takes it out that way, traders can't guarantee income, they can profit for a whole year and suddenly start to be horrible the next one.
Yes, you do not have to have a constantly flow of cash, all you need is not going all in at once, if you have a certain amount of money, do not go all in with it, put some aside and go in with only a portion of it, with the rest you can continue to go in with set period of times which will result with you cost averaging without really needing cash flow constantly.

However you are right that if you have cash flow all the time, that would make things easier, that way you can actually go in periodically and have a better chance to profit in the long run. I heard someone put in their credit card to coinbase to draw 200 bucks and buy bitcoin automatically each month for example, it wasn't enough money to destroy their finances and it helped them get richer and richer, dude put in like around 4k so far but has over 10k thanks to all increases, it really works.
431  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there a good strategy for 0.5% - 1% daily? on: April 27, 2020, 07:55:08 AM
This has been talked a lot in the past but there is no strategy available to make that kind of return daily, sure there are methods that could do it time to time but not all the time and that is the trouble. You could make 1% profit for 20 days straight but then the price of bitcoin could drop 30%, and may not recover for a long long time.

Hence there is really no way to make that kind of money in the end, however there are less risky methods and I doubt anyone in the history of bitcoin has made that kind of return. Remember when you make that kind of return, you are doubling all the time in every set amount of days, you would basically be wealthy beyond measure in couple years, you would get all the money in the world. Hence why it is impossible.
432  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What's the best way to buy a few thousand USD worth of Bitcoin or USDT on: April 27, 2020, 07:01:09 AM
Coinbase? I mean whatever you do the charge will be very difficult, it is literally why we are moving towards bitcoin and not use cash you know why? Because putting dollars into coinbase costs a lot, or epay or somewhere else, since they have to work with banks and they charge a lot, however when you look at bitcoin you can move bitcoin from one nation to whole another nation and still pay a lot less.

I think as long as you can afford to, just eat up the extra charges and be done with it, I know you are going to have to pay a big charge but that will be just once (and maybe while withdrawing to your bank when you are done). So, just accept your fate and do it however you find, there is not really all that better options, just slight differences.
433  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cartesi is now listed in Binance on: April 26, 2020, 05:26:13 PM
Seriously putting time into your credibility actually works out. Cartesi has always worked very hard to be taken seriously and they were very insisting on the fact that they are not making some made up small time coin project that will be forgotten, they are actually working on something major and they wanted to be taken seriously.

So, all their works on the project and all their work on their own image really worked out, they are on binance now and there is nothing like binance listing to say how serious you are. Hopefully they can continue like this because if they can keep up this hard work and seriousness, they could potentially be one of the top 20 very easily, and normally that is not something simple, it takes a lot of time to reach those levels.
434  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Qatar Bans CryptoCurrency on: April 26, 2020, 04:15:58 PM
Qatar may or may not lift the ban on crypto very soon, but I know for a fact that they will have to lift it eventually because there are so many big nations that are allowing it and even making a profit thanks to crypto taxes as well, which means crypto will get bigger and bigger the more space it finds for itself.

No country will stop crypto movements and deny taxes for themselves, governments love taxes, the more taxes they can get the better, hell if governments could have they would probably take all of your money as taxes and offer you life for free instead like a communist country just so they could have all the money to themselves. Which means Qatar will realize all other nations making money from taxes and will want to get taxes from crypto eventually.
435  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Good time to get some Ethereum? on: April 26, 2020, 03:42:34 PM
Depending on how the staking will go, I think it is a high possibility that we are going to see ethereum increasing either a lot or a bit but it will definitely increase. Right now, people are spending money to mine, all that machinery and electricity costs something, which gives people incentive to sell their ethereum, however when they end up with proof of stake there won't be any cost of ethereum at all, you will just hold it on your wallet and you will get more of it without doing anything else.

The exchanges already started to add "put your money with us and we will stake it for you" type of systems in place, which will be used for ethereum as well. I think buying right now would be very advantageous and would really profit you well in the future.
436  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why bitcoin will never fall? on: April 26, 2020, 09:10:26 AM
Community is really in love with bitcoin a lot, I wouldn't really dream of a community like this if I built a project, Satoshi is really a genius but at the same time bitcoin was a bit more lucky as well, there was a chance it never really picked up and nobody really cared about it in the end as well, it could have really happened, think about it when it first started some person could have come up and bought all of the coins available, the first million coins could have been owned by that person, or they could have operated a HUGE mining facility for some other reason and as soon as bitcoin started could have turned it against bitcoin and just attacked it.

Basically there was many ways it could have gone wrong but some reason we are now at a level where we discuss why it will never fall, that shows how good bitcoin is but also a bit of luck as well.
437  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC is making some noise in the market. on: April 26, 2020, 08:30:39 AM
Even in this pandemic scare bitcoin is roaring in the market, only today the price has gone up like nearly 5%. Also most of altcoins have followed BTC.

This is what people were desperately looking for,  and I guess it's halving effect. If the value goes above 8k I will consider it as Bull run is back, hopefully this pump will continue guys just enjoy!!!
Well it was expected, not the increase but a movement. Think about it, bitcoin is in a situation where the whole world market is moving one way or another whereas bitcoin was stuck at around 7k and it didn't moved for days, almost a week, that is not really going to sustain for too long.

That means bitcoin eventually were to move and this time it was up, I wouldn't have been shocked if it was downwards neither, as long as bitcoin moved that was something I expected. Thankfully I have bought some bitcoins when it was under 6k, I said I wouldn't sell until 10k and it is getting closer to that level, I am going to stop buying now because it went up a lot more than I anticipated but I am not going to hold it and not sell it until it is over 10k because I believe it can reach there in 2020.
438  Economy / Economics / Re: We need a economic revolution right now . on: April 26, 2020, 07:39:29 AM
And not just that, I have also seen news that they silenced all the doctors and journalists that tried to let the world know about the Covid-19 virus.

Imagine that, if all these doctors and journalists were able to pass their message across to the other countries in the world, and they accepted it, they would have been able to get themselves ready and prevent this spread of the Coronavirus. And China should have also done everything possible to prevent people from leaving their countries to avoid the spread, and they should have been open to the world about what’s going on, rather they chose to keep it a secret from the world  Sad really bad.
439  Economy / Economics / Re: The pandemic outcome on: April 25, 2020, 07:00:08 PM
Rich is a bit exempt, I mean if you are rich enough the governments save you, the poor is left to dust because they are poor and not really helping the general economy all that much, they barely have their survival needs with the help they get so they are not really saved all that much, compared to rich people who are getting billions of dollars worth of help (in shape of either giveaway or zero interest loans and so forth) because they do help the general look of the economy.

Rich people always gets a bail out, they are famous for it and because of that the money goes into the market and hurts the economy and inflation whereas the poor people didn't get anything increasing so they are now living with the same amount they had but in an inflation zone because of it.
440  Economy / Economics / Re: If bitcoin is made for times like these why is everyone selling at a time like.. on: April 25, 2020, 06:17:09 PM
If bitcoin is made for times like these why is everyone selling at a time like this?
China quarantined fiat FFS.
This tells me 100% BTC is only a financial purpose and not a practical purpose overall.

Just venting a little. This selloff is nuts.
People are selling and it’s their choice. Some of them don’t even have patience, while some are selling because they are in need of money. You shouldn’t let the decision that others have made to influence your own decision you’re about to make , they might end up misleading you into doing what’s wrong. And I bet that some of them who sold their coins when the market dropped to below $4,000 will be regretting what they did.

They would wish that they never got to sell their coins and just left it till now. The market still bounced back to the higher price despite everything that is happening. This is not where it ends, there is still going to be more. The halving is already and we don’t know what it’s got in store for us.
