1341  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin Andresen Proposes Bitcoin Hard Fork to Address Network Scalability on: October 25, 2014, 03:07:33 AM
sorry for this noobish question but what is a TPS? thx

Transactions Per Second.  Spends.

The block size is a function of the TPS and the size of each transaction which can very depending on complexity.  At the current 1MB the ballpark average number of transactions per second is traditionally considered around 7 transactions per second.

This is the thing which Gavin wants to change to be growing exponentially which means to me that the future-value of Bitcoin is fairly closely approximates my confidence in the endurance of 'Moore's law'.  That is to say, not very high.

thank you a lot, you are very kind and clear! I clearly don't think to have the necessary level to participate in this discussion. So thank you all, I will read you from the sideline, and wish you all well. My last stupid comment, as this topic seems more mature :

There are in my limited knowledge only 6 options to scalability :

1. with the fees, it will be adjusted automatically (don't pay enough to be in the 7 tps, no tx for you) / BEST OPTION
2. bigger blocks
3. faster blocks
4. alts
5. data compression (it will fit in those 640ko btw)
6. dynamic blocks (everything change depending of the usage)

6. being a little bit complex and that with alts no need to fork! maybe the global payment system is just a pipe dream... but a global payment system (which is the case right now) why not...

And a big thank you to the People of bitcointalk.org for letting speech be free here.

(Astalavista baby, I will be back)
1342  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Increasing the block size is a good idea; 50%/year is probably too aggressive on: October 25, 2014, 02:54:38 AM
The people at keepbitcoinfree.org don't want to change the 1MB now at all. They think, for Tor and other consideration, it's necessary, but I agree with Syke that not everyone needs to be able to run a full node.

Thank you for bringing this perspective so eloquently. There are in my limited knowledge only 6 options to scalability :

1. with the fees, it will be adjusted automatically (don't pay enough, no tx for you) / BEST OPTION
2. bigger blocks
3. faster blocks
4. alts

This is a common optimisation virtually all crappy pools use shortly after a new block since their software can't scale to get miners to work on the new block full of transactions quickly, they just broadcast a blank sheet for the first lot of work after a block change. Most pools blame bitcoind for being so slow to accept a block and generate a new template, and this is actually quite slow, but it's obviously more than just this (since I don't ever include transaction-free blocks in my own pool software).

It's a personal honor to read from you.  Shocked

I didn't read your last post, because I don't need. Now as the tragedy is running. let's make some hypothesis:

Imagine that the kid was the son of the One of the Sinaloa or K.T. Cartels, the truce would have started between all until freed. picture yourself the capital city of Norway, you could see that all the highest judges would be dead, at let me tell you, civilians causalities to achieve operatives objectives are irrelevant. The norwegian States would have fold... because NO COPS, NO JUDGES, NO CPS would dare to show or stay in the country.

Imagine that the kid was the son of GWB, today, there would be no more a capital city in norway, the ground would be toxic for thousand of years, most norwegians, inland or outland would be in concentration camp waiting their death, and of course the Professional Soldiers sent to EXTRACT him from the State Sponsored Kidnappers would be at the White House received by Potus and his son...

So what would you do if you were POTRF, aka the President of the Russian Federation and it was your son that was held?

edit: there is no others path against lies backed by violence like the norv.gov do here, scaling until one fold.

edit2: btw time is of the essence the more they (many) are in the hands of those "aliens" (dehumanization), the more they are at risks of being injured and co.

edit3: and if there was really a problem with this family, why not sent them back to Russia and inform the Russian State?

edit4: time for a joint color revolution there? half - half ? because sooner or later it will be an American Child...
1349  Other / Politics & Society / Re: The United States Of America Is The Greatest Union on this Earth for me... on: October 23, 2014, 07:47:42 PM

Did your God write 1 Peter 4:15?  Because it seems to be a laundry list of the things your beloved union does.

What is unclear to you here : "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances". Huh
1350  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Increasing the block size is a good idea; 50%/year is probably too aggressive on: October 23, 2014, 07:44:24 PM
Finally good news, even Satoshi told the 1MB limit is temporary.

But easier would be square maxblocksize every block reward halving, to make Bitcoin simple...

50 BTC = 1 MB
25 BTC = 2 MB
12.5 BTC = 4 MB
6.25 BTC = 16 MB
3.125 BTC = 256 MB

and so on.

(edit by me in bold)

you're welcome.

1352  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Gavin Andresen Proposes Bitcoin Hard Fork to Address Network Scalability on: October 23, 2014, 06:35:09 PM
who cares... what I like about this one, is that even I, can understand it... However, and to your disappointment I am firmly against the proposition of Gavin (even if I didn't read it) for the reason that it's too complex, and only a feat for the devs, not for the coin... if you see what I mean...

edit: if you want (for your dream of world domination) you could even square it, meaning at 6.25 BTC = 16 MB and so on...

But, if there is nothing wrong with male anatomy then urinals are perfect for men.

Nice Loop!

Finally good news, even Satoshi told the 1MB limit is temporary.

50 BTC = 1 MB
25 BTC = 2 MB
12.5 BTC = 4 MB

and so on.
This is not far from what gavin had proposed. His proposal would involve a higher rate of block size increases due to more frequent compounding. Your suggestion would make it very easy to remember when the max block size will increase and would likely require much smaller changes to the code then what gavin is proposing

I wouldn't call that a fork, but an improvement. And it's quite elegant. I support it too...

walking in the opposite direction of two women carrying 2 trash bags... Once our walking path intersected one them throw the two bags at my face and said: reflex. I let the 2 bags (not heavy) fall with out reaction, the second B-tch said: you could be a gentleman a pick them up for us... and they were over 40y. That's what some of them have fallen too... nuff said.

edit: sadly it wasn't in FL.

edit2: imagine for one sec that the sex were reversed...

I disagree because you are brainwashed.

brained filled maybe... hahaha, but it doesn't mean that this union doesn't have problem. I think there are more problems in the us than dollars in circulation... there are at least 10 new problems per People per day... but at least we can speak of them. Do you know another country where you can be an amish gay smoking pot drinking booze in a dry town playing poker? me not...
