Why only two people? I only needed two transactions, sorry. You have over 500 Post but only 100 transactions. Don't do much bitcoin do you?
I love the idea of Bitcoin, and have handled quite a bit (considering the amount I normally have laying around). I find turning fiat into Bitcoin is very difficult and I don't have the money to risk mining on more than my 6950. I consider it more of a hobby than a venture to me.

I have a feeling that payments will be going out this weekend, so I would advise everyone to get their bitcoins ready for payment to Matthew.
~DonShrents
I have the same feeling, hence why I sent this message to Matt earlier today - just for the record: "Matt, I already made some side deals to neutralize my bet with you, so in the event pirate doesn't pay I would need the 6K to repay these other people. So right now I'm "all in" with pirate." So yeah, I've got all my chips on P right now. It seems odd I know, but I think it's actually the most likely outcome based on the evidence as I see it. If I'm wrong I will suffer for it, but I'm taking a stand. As Sherlock Holmes said: eliminate the impossible, and then whatever is left, no matter how improbable, must be the truth. Btw if you happen to know pirate, can you confirm that he has my new withdrawal address for this final account transaction? ta, BA It's impossible that pirate is a scammer? No, I mean I've thought about this long and hard, and my conclusion is that Pirate will pay this weekend. Evidence includes the fact that his returns are possible, as very trusted bitcoiners know how this could be done. The "impossible" potentials in this case IMO are: (1) Matt actually has this kind of coin and is this crazy or (2) Matt, a key figurehead in bitcoin, would ruin his reputation. I don't think either is likely, so the only final potential is that pirate will pay. Not flawless logic I know, but that's my reasoning and hence why I decided to neutralize my bet. If I'm wrong, I will accept responsibility and eat my losses, and blame nobody but myself. I have to agree with you. Matt might not always act it, but he is an intelligent individual. As far as I understand, it is very likely Pirate pays out this weekend, or soon.

That was fun everyone, hopefully you should get them soon, if you haven't already. Thanks for playing the 'refresh unread posts button and randomly find some madman giving money away' game

Most of the pictures are photoshopped and not real, just so you know. However, I think it is human nature to not enjoy holes in the skin.
I freak out when I see photoshopped holes. AHHHHHHHHH Don't do that to me!

Perhaps the people that are most concerned with Matthew's intentions to follow through with his bet should now take the time to provide proof that they have their side of the bet's funds ready and waiting to be paid out, in case Matthew actually wins ? Anyone who is upset can obviously prove that they have lived up to their end of the agreement with either proof from a 3rd party Escrow service or deposit, or a coin address that contains the amount that they are personally responsible for, as their wager ?

They are as likely to understand what you are saying as they are to even realize who is posting said rationalization... so umm, where's your ol' partner, Trendon at? Are you familiar with the inner workings of BTCS&T? do explain.. every thing. ol' partner? I think it's just a pseudonym he used its an anagram of Trendon Sh That's a good point. One thread said that Shrents is the owner of pirateat40.com AND btcst.com On GNU/Linux this is as simple as: Open a terminal and or Even simpler...just read this thread. Was that in this thread? Darn, I've been all over today, sorry.

This has potential. Will each chain have its own daemon running in the end? I don't normally use an alternate wallet, but it needs to use the daemon in case there is an urgent update or something. Do you think it could be possible to let the user add more blockchains? Considering most chains use commands similar to BTC's protocol, I imagine it can't be too hard. Just a thought. I really like what you are doing.

Let me counter with a stupid idea of my own. The bitcointalk community should be able to vote newly released newbies back into the crib. The more votes, the longer they must remain.
That wasn't stupid that was pure awesome. Make it like a +/-. Too many minus you go to noob zone for a time out and your - score increses by 1 pt per x hours. When it is back to zero you can come out and play again. Also, disable the ability for Newbies to upvote each other. What about DDoS (Denial of Service) to sites that don't accept bitcoin? I am against such but if bitcoin is better than sex, why not? Well...
How about...no. It is against the ideals of Bitcoin, there is no freedom in creating a racket. There's more to Bitcoin than being 1337

OP. Please edit title. Pending implies that the mods and powers that be here are looking into it. I do not think they are. There is no evidence that he is a scammer.
Many things need to happen first: 1) Bet needs to end 2) He needs to lose the bet 3) He fails to pay
None of those three things have happened yet.
This is like labeling me a scammer because I have not paid my car payment early.
I think its closer to claiming you've won the lottery before the drawing, without buying a ticket.

Also, in regards to the PPS rate differences:
Yes, getting paid as much as possible for a share is importance, as it maximizes the amount of BTC you mine. I currently get (BTC 0.0000176686) a share from ABCpool and am content. You will mine the same amount of shares on either pool, but if each share is worth more money, than you get paid more.

Thanks for the quick response. I thought it might be something like that. However I'm worried that overclocking might damage my new card. How worried should I be about that?
If you use MSI Afterburner, and don't unlock the voltage, you shouldn't be able to damage it unless you over heat it. I would bump up the core clock to like 850-875, and lower the memory as much as possible while keeping it stable. Using the flags -v -f 0 -w 128 Also, watch the temps and fan speed. I don't have much experience with 5830's, but you should be able to use those clocks with no problem. You won't get the maximized amount, but you should get a decent boost.

I was thrilled to get my new Sapphire HD 5830 in the mail yesterday. Finally I buckled down and just went for the "buy-it-now" on Ebay after losing out on a bunch of auctions. So it's hooked up and pool mining on Deepbit. I'm getting a hash rate of just under 170. But according to this web page- https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Mining_hardware_comparisonI should be getting around 300. Does anyone have any idea why I'm not getting a higher hash rate? Also according to http://www.btcmu.info/ Deepbit has the lowest PPS rate. Does this fraction Deepbit .00001670348887vs Mt. Red .00001855943207 really make any significant difference in my earnings? This is my first post outside of the newbies section. I am happy to be in the real world! Generally, in order to get the maximized hash rate, you need to over clock the core, underclock the memory, decrease voltage and use the proper flags. Use MSI Afterburner or cgminer to play with the settings, using the ones from the mining comparison for comparison
