The only way this could get any worse for us investors is if it was discovered the wallet was actually a malware that stole all our bitcoins and corrupted our hard drive.

does the wallet do any harm? or will David re-release new secure wallet?

No of course not. The program has been around for a year.

The contracts don't even work do they? No one really ever got them to work that I could see. The wallet was like a .1 alpha.

So who is this Gekko fellow on this forum? Barabbas? I need to know who ALL the players are...

I really do have good intentions fellas, its not fud its valid concern. If you like it or not, I just call it like I see it.

That's fine man. No worries at all. I just don't care. I bought in cheap. I was just gonna gamble away the btc anyway lol. And it doesn't look like anyone else is around to care. I'm more interested in the tech for my own purposes than anything.

What the hell is going on wasn't the ico completed at 300 sats why is this coin at 83 sats now? seems like the whole community is dumping!

You guys really don't even know that bobsurplus is in on this coin? just check old tweets, he's tweeted about this coin. OF COURSE YOUR SCREWED.

Huh? This is what "bob" said about that in Nov:

"I been watching this thread since page 10, was tempted to buy in at the ICO but sadly I was not around for those days. Now I'm back and I believe there's no better time to buy some then today... As soon as I get back to my room ima be buying a few bitbay to add to my cryptocoin collection.

I think this coin has a bright future but who knows how long till everyone realizes how life-changing this coin, marketplace and smart contracts really are.

Good luck bay team and god speed.

PSA... This is not a group play of mine. This is a personal investment im making. Please dont ask me "when are you gonna pump bay" or "how long till bay hits x amount" because that kinda shit pisses me off.

Later."

Yes, and bobsurplus has been such an honest guy, guess we should all buy bitbay now knowing he's honest now, and wants to support this coin. Come on noob, wake up, he kills coins.

Why are you trying to convince so hard? I don't care who bob is. I hope he sells every last share if that's what he's doing and then people with some balls own the damn shares.

Ponder this, David wants to get paid to dev bithalo which is what bitbay is in essance, bayhalo. Bob gets to make money off the bag holders... its a win win. That is the only way I can make sense of it right now. Think they may be working to make them self wealthy while you guys eat it.

Great story man. You should become a novelist! I don't care what the price is. Now if the wallet with working contracts doesn't get released then that's another story, but to me it looks like prices get manipulated like crazy on bter by pump/dumpers.

360 mill will still be sold under the ico price.
So untill then its an opportunity to buy
After that if the project itself has some value we might see the price rise

Yep, treat it as a buying opportunity. If you want to get in, remember think long-term. Tuck those shares away and check on things in a year. That might be the best bet if you tend to stress about things. If it goes down to 1 satoshi, I will buy up all billion and just give them away in a instagram lottery or something lol. I can't even do that the math on the mac calculator. Not enough zeros lol.

But then again .. what I am afraid of is that the devs will have no incentive to proceed with this project once they have dumped the remaining coins sucessfully.
Its a double edged sword to be honest

They still only get the payments when they complete the milestones. They need to get the contract working in the wallet to get #2 milestone and they need to get the market working to get #3 working right?

Nope its just the bays that were not sold during the ipo that are being dumped now .

Makes sense. What makes you think that the unsold bays were supposed to be destroyed? I couldn't find anything about that. It seems like any remaining bays would belong to the developers to do with as they thought proper.

Couldn't one run a darkmarket over a DVPN like vpncoin? I have never used it but I read the white paper an its quite clever idea in theory. It claims to be able to run all network services available now anonymously through the blockchain.

Possibly. Until it's being done in practice it's just theory to me tho. Best way to invest I think is try to identify the projects with the best potential solution to the darknet problem and try to invest a little in each. Spread the risk that way. It's not like buying a sizable chuck of these coins (.1%+) is expensive or anything.
592  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay |Decentralized Marketplace|Smart Contracts|IoT Tech|Markets Open on: December 10, 2014, 12:56:48 AM
it seems a long-term project ,and price is not good now.

Yeah, I personally will not touch my purchased coin for at least one to two years. This is a long term project and investment for sure!

Price is good now to get in if you want to get in at the ground floor but only if you are comfortable with losing your entire investment. (Just my personal opinion here).
593  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BitBay |Decentralized Marketplace|Smart Contracts|IoT Tech|Markets Open on: December 10, 2014, 12:43:59 AM

I have run bitmarkets (mac only it appears) and it is clearly in the very early stages. There's exactly one listing there that I can see. Having said that, Bitmarkets to me just validates the need and desire for the bitbay coin and market.

I can only speak for myself, an investor in bitbay, and not for anyone else here, but to me these decentralized marketplaces are very much needed as a response to Onymous because the TOR darknets no longer feel like a safe place for buyers and vendors alike.

The centralization of the servers in the TOR network is a big issue, but that is not the only big issue. Clearly bitcoin is not anonymous enough. Vendors are having to run coins through mixers such as bitcoin fog or grams and losing percentage points just to feel any safety whatsoever with bitcoin. This risk is not alleviated with bitmarkets. Bitcoin will always be insecure for transactions that require absolute anonymity. However, the Bitbay coin addresses this.

So to me bitmarkets is a inferior solution to the same problem, one that will bring incredible riches to whoever solves it in a workable way. And honestly openbazaar came before anything and that has had slow adoption because its technology doesn't quite seem up to snuff yet. These things have to be super simple, easy to install and just work to be adopted by the masses. (Think Bittorrent).

To the victor goes the spoils and we will see which solution is the best soon enough.

1. Can I keep using the old wallet now until I install the new one?
2. I do need to sync to the network (I've been afk for a week) before transferring the coins to an exchange, right?
3. Should I just send the coins to an exchange, then install the new wallet, then transfer from the exchange to that wallet?  Huh Grin

I installed each wallet on a different computer. I wouldn't recommend installing both on the same computer just to be safe, but I don't know for certain. I would do it the way you are suggesting if you only have one computer available.

Interesting coin, think there is a good market for this so grabbed a little .. is it me or are they dirt cheap atm?  Roll Eyes

Yeah this is probably a good time to buy in if you are a long term investor, at least I think so. Minimal risk at least at this point to get a decent stake in this thing. Notice the wall of buyers on bter below this price just waiting to pounce.

Nice to see how lively and positive this thread and coin is  Cool

Yea can't wait for that new wallet build so I can set up a number of bets for nba games. I am a believer in tech and I really believe this coin/tech has a solid use case. Onymous has proven that. We just need to get it off the ground. Rome definitely wasn't built in a day. Patience is required.

So does the MAC QT wallet stake? If so I'll transfer most of my bay to that one and just keep enough in the new wallet to play with contracts.

Just a suggestion re. the user interface on the Mac wallet.

The lock icon works the wrong way round at least as far as Mac conventions go (and I think most others as well).

When the wallet is unlocked the lock icon should display as open.

When the wallet is locked, the lock icon should display as closed.

Instead it works the other way around which is quite confusing and counter-intuitive.

Yeah that was confusing to me too lol.

I know the Windows QT wallet did, but I'm not sure of the Mac version.

Well, I'm trying it. I'll let you guys know.

Yes the wallet stakes. I'd be happy to form a contract with you for a few BAY. We're soon going to see an update though.

How long does it take before it starts staking? I have had the wallet open about 12 hours I think and so far it doesn't appear to be doing it.

Thanks.
