181  Economy / Speculation / Re: Long term advance notice! on: May 29, 2019, 02:33:50 PM
I still haven't figure out what is up with some users on this forum who insist on saying there is some shred of truth to someone who has clearly been lying all this time! I mean the lie was clear from day one when he claimed he is Satoshi and could not provide any proof and instead offered payment to multiple bitcoin core developers to support his lie and only one (Gavin) accepted it which made him also look like a fool.
in any case the story of CSW died that day but it is being kept alive by certain people for some reason which makes me curious...
182  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Next Bull Run on: May 29, 2019, 02:23:24 PM
instead of waiting for some arbitrary high price you should start opening your eyes and see that the bull run had started a couple of months ago when the accumulation in $3k range came to an end and the breakout happened. almost all traders were on board of the rise by then and they slowly came back in hence the current price that is 150% higher than that.
183  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Could the time traveller’s “2019 BTC price” become true? on: May 29, 2019, 02:14:41 PM
when it comes to speculating (or more precisely guessing) bitcoin price everyone at some point throws numbers around at each other. we have also done it but some people do it more than others with such enthusiasm and a lot of advertisement. obviously some guesses come true like hitting a bulls eye on a target in the dark but that doesn't make them prophets or from the future Wink
bitcoin is on the rise and we all know that in the long run price is going to keep on increasing. $100k, $200k, $1 million are the targets that are expected to be reached at some point in the future. but we can never predict "when".
184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's going on with BTC? on: May 29, 2019, 01:39:37 PM
you should seriously stop advertising your website like this, you won't get that much traffic to it to mean anything for your. instead try to write better articles instead this crap which you keep writing and posting the links to it on this forum. by doing that you are only lowering the value of your site because next time we see that link we automatically know it is a clickbait low quality crap. for example in this case these applications you chose are too random and people don't even know about them and most probably some of them are scam applications trying to steal money!
185  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: There isn't always a clear reason why BTC went up or down on: May 29, 2019, 01:31:08 PM
actually there always is a reason for any rise of all it is just that we can't find that reason in half the times when the rise of fall is happening and usually we figure it out a while after.

Imagine 3 whales with 1000 btc each decide to sell bitcoin and by chance they do so at the same time. Of course the price will tank and people will wonder why, bots will follow and so on.
not every time. it will depend on when and how they sell large amounts. for example if they sell it all in one exchange, nothing will change. if they spread it among exchanges then the amount may not be enough to make a difference but there is a better change.
and most importantly is the timing. for example when people weren't sure about the direction and many were feeding them FUD about how price is going to $1000, such sells crashed the market about 50% from $6000 but if the same thing happened today it won't even cause a 5% drop let alone 50% because the market is on the move and such sells would be against the direction and will be eaten by the market like a piece of cake.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stop playing the lottery, this is much better... on: May 29, 2019, 01:21:42 PM
well we can't expect much from someone who was naïve  enough to think the things that Craig Wright was saying about him being Satoshi were correct. next thing you will tell us is that there is a bitcoin doubler found that if you send it your hard earned bitcoins it will double it for you and totally give it back without scamming you.
187  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Bitcoin Is Not? on: May 29, 2019, 01:16:31 PM
the most important thing about bitcoin in my opinion is the fact that it is decentralized. and being decentralized it allows bitcoin to offer other benefits such as being boarderless and censorship resistant. all these are giving bitcoin a certain uniqueness that you can not find anywhere else and as a result it gives it a great value.

of course other things that were mentioned here are also important like having clear and reasonable cap at 21 million.
188  Economy / Speculation / Re: What is your BITCOIN price prediction this year? on: May 27, 2019, 10:36:13 AM
Let me have your thoughts so we know if it's recommended for those Newbies in the market to pick in now or stay off the market?

newbies or newcomers shouldn't enter bitcoin just because they think it can give them a ton of profit (aka more fiat) that means they haven't understood the first thing about bitcoin! and that is even worse because bitcoin is not some get rich quick scheme that can make you a millionaire overnight.
they should instead study more and see what bitcoin really is. read the bitcoin paper and see the idea of decentralized currency and if they liked that then they should dump their fiat for bitcoin.
189  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: --< Building your future on the price of Bitcoin >-- on: May 27, 2019, 10:10:33 AM
the way I see it is that with bitcoin I get the opportunity to be a part of this big revolution that is happening in our time and at the same time enjoy the financial freedom that bitcoin as a decentralized currency is offering me among other things.
on top of all that, bitcoin has an additional benefit which is its value that keeps on increasing mainly because we are still in the early stages of its adoption and we are considered as the "smart money" in that popular S shape curve that shows the big rise and the bubble that follows that.
190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Halving: Hype to Speculate? on: May 27, 2019, 10:02:00 AM
coin supply on markets are not what many presume as being
'OMG 12.5->6.25.. means theres less coins on the market meaning more demand'
this is wrong because theres 17mill+ coins out there for market supply possibility. vs 1800coins new supply. thus the change is miniscule

the first part is right but this change is huge not small as you say it is.
we have two forces that are going against each other in the market and both are growing. the supply (circulating and new coins) and demand (adoption). day by day both of these are growing, this is simplified but the rate of supply is fixed and by halving it reduces 50%. the rate of demand (or adoption) is somewhat fixed most of the times but it is growing. so even if it remains the same the price should rise up as the opposing force would be smaller after the halving.
191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Only 1.6% (!!!) of USD Bitcoin trading volume is real. 98.4% dollar volume fake! on: May 27, 2019, 09:51:54 AM
Clearly the industry needs to address fake volume by exchanges. We need an independent body to authenticate the volume of exchanges to attract mainstream investors into the space. Already some progress is being made in this respect, but we should also press websites to delist exchanges that fail to meet industry standards.

no we do not need such things. we are in a decentralized system with a semi-decentralized market and it should remain that way and if anything it should be decentralized more instead of going towards more centralization by introducing entities to start policing the market.
as for mainstream adoption, it won't happen because of these things. the adoption process is much more complicated than that.
192  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What will happen if we find THE REAL SATOSHI ?? on: May 27, 2019, 09:30:30 AM
it depends on a dozen things in my opinion.
for starters it depends on who the real Satoshi is. for instance if we find out that Hal Finney was the real Satoshi then it could even boost the confidence in price.
the next thing would be the timing of that revelation. for example if we have reached mass adoption and the market has grown to a decent size then it won't affect the price that much but while we are still in a small market that can be easily manipulated, the effects can be big and in any direction which is unpredictable at this point.
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much bitcoin is "a fair share"? on: May 27, 2019, 09:21:51 AM
I personally prefer my own 1 in a million target which is about having 21 bitcoins and since there are only a cap of 21 million bitcoin if you own 21BTC you will be one in a million! of course that target is going to become harder and harder to reach as bitcoin price rises every year but having that in mind motivates me to accumulate more before we reach mass adoption: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1790863.0
194  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: AT&T says it will accept payments in cryptocurrency on: May 25, 2019, 08:23:34 AM
Indeed, samsung already supports cryptocurrency by placing wallets on units (as for what ive read). If this trend will continue and spread among all remaining big and small company and institution we can see bitcoin on mainstream financial system fast.

that was controversial story we had that had cryptocurrency in it though. I already have a bitcoin wallet on my Samsung (Galaxy) smart phone without needing to buy a special version of the phone that "supports" anything and the wallet I have (Electrum) is a lot more trusted than whatever Samsung is going to include in those phones which may even track your every move.
195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: "Is it true that Craig Wright is the real Satoshi as he claims?" on: May 25, 2019, 06:58:20 AM
TL;DR
"Craig Wright is not Satoshi because he didn't provide any proof. I [the author OP is quoting] claim to be satoshi but I also don't provide any proof".

so my question is why did you think it is even worth the time to read or post here?!! not to mention that we don't really need another CSW topic feeding this attention whore.
196  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BTW US Govt does NOT recognize anybody as Satoshi on: May 25, 2019, 06:30:22 AM
How will the community react if he wins this?

he has already won! because "this" is only a social drama that started from day one with purpose of money making among other things. as you can see the simple copyright shenanigan led to a decent pump of a coin that had no chance of seeing any major pumps ever since it was removed from major exchanges and its dying process has been hastened.
197  Economy / Speculation / Re: Report: Google Search Volume and Tweets responsible for Bitcoin Price Surge on: May 24, 2019, 02:29:41 PM
it seems like some people who can't analyze the bitcoin movements start coming up with all kinds of superstitions to justify things for themselves so that they can have something to act on no matter how ridiculous that sounds.
in this case checking google search volume is like going to a party after seeing all the party trash in the next morning, long after the party was over and everyone ate the "cake" and left.
198  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Block Halving cout down on: May 24, 2019, 02:03:38 PM
365 days from now, we will see another bitcoin block halving. Everyone touted this event as the pre-cursor to the next massive bull run, new all-time-high to be set. What are your plans?

haha my plans have never changed with things like halving, ATH, ATL, bubble pops, under price levels,... the plan has always been to dump my extra money lying around to increase the amount of bitcoin that I own slowly while taking small risks and I will continue doing that.

Quote
What ATH are you seeing? As far as I can remember it took four to five months before the price started to move and goes on a parabolic rise till the end of 2017.
the price rise in 2017 was only part of the halving related price rise though. the real rise started in early 2016 before the actual halving and then stopped and the bubble of that time popped during the halving causing a short bear market and then the rise began slowly reaching to a new high before 2017 even began and then the momentum kept growing.

the new ATH I see is somewhere close to $100k this time.
199  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Petition to remove Craig Wright's name from Bitcoin Whitepaper's copyright on: May 24, 2019, 01:47:36 PM
the copyright office already said these issues are disputed in the courts; it's not their problem. they just keep records when people register copyrights.

Exactly. They're not going to remove or revoke the copyright just because a good number of people that submitted their email on a website wants to. That's simply not how stuff works as far as I know, especially when talking about things that involves the government.

Correct me if I'm wrong.

the only way that this can work is if the person whose identity is being stolen or copyright's infringed, to step forward and file a complaint with US copyright office indicating that his work and identity is being stolen by an imposter. and we all know Satoshi has remained anonymous for whatever reason and he will never come out for something this small.
200  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Craig Steven Wright nominated for an Ig Nobel Prize in Economics on: May 24, 2019, 01:35:48 PM
he will probably thank you for it because all he wants is attention and things like what you suggested will give him a huge undeserved public attention that he can milk all he wants and maybe even scam people more because of it.
people like that need to be forgotten instead of being put in the history.
