1041  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin Price Manipulated by Cryptocurrency Trading Bots: WSJ on: October 03, 2018, 05:38:00 AM
this is just another drama created by a click-bait news site trying to post something that people "click" and read. and at the end of the article you will be unsatisfied because you always read a bunch of statements that the author is assuming are correct and then makes his conclusion based on them. there is never solid proof or a valid speculation about it. they just make any assumption they want.
1042  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is there anyone here consistently trading cryptos successfully? on: October 02, 2018, 03:05:46 PM
obviously nobody is always 100% successful. there are times when everyone makes mistakes and goes against the market and loses money, even the biggest names in the world are experiencing this. but the important thing is the overall result.

it is not hard to think that most traders (traders not newbies playing around calling themselves trader when they bag hold shitcoins hoping for rise) are making profit consistently. in other words have positive returns at the end of the month, each month.
I myself have been trading for quite a while now and I don't consider myself an expert at all but I have been successful and my returns are positive in the end.

you just have to stop thinking with your emotions and based on bullshit on bitcointalk and start thinking based on your logic and experience and what you see on the charts which is the most real thing you can find!
1043  Economy / Speculation / Re: Tether & scalability still looming bottom not in: -80% until end of january 2019 on: October 02, 2018, 02:59:54 PM
comparing the challenges bitcoin faces regarding scaling with the horrible flaws that ethereum has regarding scaling is like comparing apples and oranges. where bitcoin has been overcoming its scaling matters, ethereum has been failing from day one because of its design such as flaws including having fast blocks.
not to mention that scaling has never been a concern for investors, they have proved last year that they will even pay $100 per transaction for fees if it comes to it while trading bitcoin.
1044  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your opinion about the decline in BTC prices in 2018 on: October 02, 2018, 01:30:08 PM
bitcoin price went up too fast and eventually it entered a bubble at price of $20,000. as the main characteristic of a bubble suggests, it is unstable and it will pop inevitably. and when it pops the price comes down to a more realistic level. now in case of bitcoin this pop occurred at $20k and price started coming down. in my opinion the realistic level was $10k or at least about $9k and any lower than that is what I consider "underpriced". and the reason for that is a mass panic + lots of manipulation + lots of FUD.

regarding altcoins the same rules apply but their values had serious bubbles than bitcoin price since their intrinsic value is a lot less than what their current price is even with all these drops. and it is the product of pumps not FOMO buying, etc. and as pumps main characteristics goes it needs a big dump follow up.
1045  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Continues to Consolidate As Volatility Reaches Lows of 2018 on: October 02, 2018, 01:19:29 PM
Whether we end this year a bear or bull market, I still believe in the technology and always supporting bitcoin. What are your thoughts on this guys?

it is very possible that we keep on seeing the same trend of consolidation continue until the end of the year. as I always say, in this market sometimes what people expect out of the market will become the very same thing that happens. this year despite all the evidence people continued comparing this bear market with the bear market back in 2014 and expected it to be a long one so much that eventually it became long and this expectation is currently keeping them from coming back to the market and investing, they are mainly waiting for some sort of signal to start buying.
1046  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MERITS OF BLOCKCHAIN. on: October 02, 2018, 01:11:53 PM
1. Wrong. A blockchain is slow, inefficient and expensive to run.
Forgive me for expressing my disagreement, but I believe that we could also say that blockchain is fast. It depends on what we compare it with. The transactions are also relatively cheap and I am not sure what you mean when you say it's expensive to run (no need to make a PoW rather than PoS and ICO allows to gather money for initial development). In about 10 minutes the network receives the first confirmation of the transaction (which is usually when companies start processing your request, so we could say that this is the transaction speed) and the fee is $0.6. When I recently made a Swift transfer on 400 euros, the fee was about 15 euros (!) and it took two working days for the transfer to be received.
you are talking about usage of blockchain technology in other sectors and like your example says in healthcare! in this case usage of blockchain technology compared to the regular method of using a database as they all are doing now is considered expensive and slow in comparison. what you said is about fees when you use it as a currency and regarding that you are also considering decentralization when talking about fees. of course making it centralized will reduce the fees.

ARE THERE DISADVANTAGES IN BLOCKCHAIN? WHAT ARE THEY? PLEASE LET US KNOW..
I think that an important disadvantage of blockchain is that as the network gets bigger, transaction fees and speed are inevitably becoming worth. That's why I think DAG is a very attractive technology, because it has the biggest issues during the initial stage with improvements as the network expands.
DAG is also not as secure and is not as mature as the blockchain. and it is not ready.
1047  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin is the King ! Why ? on: October 02, 2018, 08:56:44 AM
I still don't understand why people love to use terms like this about bitcoin! bitcoin is simply on top because it is good and the others are not capable of competing with it because they are bad! in other words bitcoin is a currency and is used in many places as a currency while it is also a store of value and also an investment while altcoins are only an investment and as speculators people dump them eventually when they gained enough profit from their investments and know that there is no more usage for them.
1048  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MERITS OF BLOCKCHAIN. on: October 02, 2018, 08:42:37 AM
so far we have only seen the blockchain technology to be used to create a cryptocurrency and only a handful have been successful and they were successful because of the decentralization path that they chose. otherwise those coins that chose the centralization path such as XRP, ETH,... are doomed to fail.
additionally any other field that I have seen the blockchain technology to be used in have not been successful so far. the healthcare system included. so far I have seen ICOs that mention that and only raise money to take and go away. nothing else happened more than that.
1049  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Trading Real estate for bitcoins your opinion on: October 02, 2018, 08:33:04 AM
it is not just possible but it has been happening for a while now. I don't know what that site is that you found and I will never click shortened links but if you check the news that has been cases of people trading real estate using bitcoin. of course there will be a lot of restrictions involved since you are talking about a large amount of bitcoin and people aren't usually willing to spend bitcoin let alone spend that much so finding people who are willing to make such trade is not going to be easy. additionally there may be some additional taxes involved depending on the country you are in or there may not be any tax at all!
1050  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Will the bull run return this December? on: October 01, 2018, 10:24:35 AM
if you are talking about bitcoin and it having a bull run in December, then it is very hard to say because it is 2 months from now and many things can happen for example we can still be in the same range as today that is between $6k and $7k or we may be having a slow rise and be at $9k but without any major bull runs.

if you are talking about an altcoin then you have to be specific about their names, they are not all the same and are not moving together.
1051  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading, the very beginning on: October 01, 2018, 08:15:04 AM
I'm minner and i made some good profit from icos, but the current condition of the market is terrible for icos. If they don't don't adjust i can't see any profit in them for now.

when you invest in an ICO you are gambling with your money. if you made profit in the past it means you were lucky and the odds were better in the past. right now the only thing that has changed is the odds of winning because people started to realize it is a gamble.

October im planning to spend the month for learning about day trading in crypto.
I would be glad to hear from you any suggestions for books, courses (prefer even more expensive from traders which are with good experience and results in this market) and everything which could be useful for the very beginning.

based on my personal experience there is no books or courses or anything like that which can help you learn trading cryptocurrencies successfully and make profit. all you need is familiarity with the market and some experience to know how the coins have been acting in the past. basically know how the pump and dumps work in altcoin market and then try to catch them to make profit.
one of the things you need to learn is the ability to see where the money has gone to. for example nowadays there are many altcoins from the bottom of the list that are getting pumped and traders are mostly involved in them while occasionally pumping one coin from the top like XRP pump a couple of days ago.
1052  Economy / Speculation / Re: The price of capitulation on: October 01, 2018, 07:50:11 AM
Capitulation of course is what the WHALECUMULATORS want! Once they sense that everyne has given up and starts to short the market, they have their people in the SEC approve the ETF and send Bitcoin to $15,000. Hahaha.

it doesn't have to be either SEC or their ETFs for the beginning of the rise. did we have the SEC when price was stuck at $200 in 2015 and people were talking about "capitulation" and were giving up on bitcoin? or did we have the SEC when price was at $10 and people were saying price has gone up long enough and it is time for bitcoin to die? Cheesy
1053  Economy / Speculation / Re: CNBC goes bearish on Bitcoin on: October 01, 2018, 06:17:02 AM
plus, it doesn't seem like a proper descending triangle to me since the bottom isn't horizontal. it's more like a wedge, given the lower low in june. the falling wedge is a bullish pattern. Wink

we'll just have to wait and see which way it breaks.

I don't think the pattern looks like anything anymore!
we have already left the intersecting two lines (whether the tip of a wedge or a the tip of the descending triangle) and price has been sticking mostly to that bottom horizontal line and another somewhat horizontal line on top making it into more of an accumulation phase.
1054  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will the price of Bitcoin break below the $6,000 support level? on: October 01, 2018, 05:31:56 AM
So for now I do not see bitcoin to break $6k levels at all, it is a psychological price level where miners do not allow you to sell, they buy as many as they can afford when the price goes below that to keep it higher.
Miners buying to support the price? Highly unlikely. I'm even of believe that they aren't really that worried about the price to drop because that forces less profitable miners to turn off their machines.

In that case it means the difficulty goes down which makes mining slightly more profitable for those who continue mining, and that slightly better profitability is enough to counter lower exchange rates.

I think it's more the overall trend and support levels that traders respect. The market has been taken over by bots and whatnot operating within a safe range they aren't willing to break.

regarding miners, people are usually looking for some sort of reason to speculate about the price and how it is going to change. in this case they are using mining, difficulty and cost as a reason for justifying the bottom at $6k and reason why it won't go any lower than that.
right or wrong of it rarely matters as it creates market incentive to react in certain way. for example the Mt Gox case was completely FUD since they weren't even selling on the market and their sell-off has been going on long before it became public or even drop started. but enough people believed it is the cause that THEY sold and caused the drop. in comparison enough people believe miners won't let the price go down that THEY will buy bitcoin and won't let it go down!
of course that is not always the only reason. there are a lot of reasons for every rise and fall.
1055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If Bitcoin is Adopted what happen to ilerate population(stone age people) on: October 01, 2018, 05:13:51 AM
this is not a bitcoin related question. in fact it has nothing to do with bitcoin, it is the same with any other technology when it comes to certain people that OP is talking about in here. they aren't that many and they don't change for any technology whatsoever. for example you don't see them using cell phones because they are "too advanced" for them. so you can change the word "bitcoin" in OP's question with anything else and then focus the discussion there. which is out of the scope of this forum since that would be a Anthropology discussion.
1056  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it true that the market usually rises before the end of the year? on: October 01, 2018, 04:59:43 AM
The answer to the first question is yes, there exists such a trend, however, does it have a real statistical power? I don't think so

the thing about bitcoin price rise at this time is that market is ready and eager for the rise. which means there are lots of investors waiting eagerly with lots of money for any kind of signal so that they can start investing in bitcoin again. as you can see the volume has not been that high and people have been confused and scared for the past couple of months because of things such as ETF,... and the possibilities they have.
this means if a rise starts then it won't be needing that much time to become big. we can see $10k+ within two weeks even!

although I think we are going to see a slow rise to $10k and then shoot up from there. but that is another discussion.
1057  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin and decreases in 2017 and 2018. on: October 01, 2018, 04:50:58 AM
it think OP is saying price will fall $500 not to $500 which means for example if price is $6500 now it will fall down $500 and reach $6000.
if I am right then $500 is not really a significant drop, considering that size is only 7% and that falls within daily fluctuations. although breaking a buy support like $6k and going $500 below it has its own significance because it is a very major buy support and it is extremely hard to break it and stay below. if we successfully break it with a ridiculously big dump then it won't be $500 drop, it can go as big as $1000 because of the panic. but I wouldn't expect a big panic since the panic seller weak hands have been flushed from the market.
1058  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin bring an end to Paypal? on: October 01, 2018, 04:45:25 AM
it is impossible for Payapal to die simply because it is just an online service that can change and adapt to the new changes in the world because of the competition. for example nothing is stopping Paypal to become a custodian service like Coinbase for example and work with bitcoin to even increase their revenue thanks to bitcoin and its eventual mass adoption.

for example one of the problems people are facing is to dump their money for bitcoin. many have money in their Paypal account and would love to use it. Paypal can offer a service for a fee so that people can do it on their platform.
in short they may even become bigger with bitcoin!
1059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Tom Lee: Bitcoin Price Starting to Reverse, 2 Catalysts Will Drive it Higher in on: September 30, 2018, 06:30:37 AM
Ok ... but what if investor confidence drops?  What if supply outweighs demand by a ten fold?  What if, what if ... You know that a ETF isn't going to be approved in 2018, so scratch that.  What other catalysts are there?  Lightning certainly isn't going to be mainstream in 2018.

Then the market turns even more bearish. I personally don't think we should be searching for a quick fix just so we can see another bull run at the year's end.

Custodians seem to be really starting to gear up though, so they may know something about the situation that we don't. I'm not sure how I feel about institutional money flooding in, but if it's going to happen, it's going to happen.

I have also have been having same issues with this. these days people seem to be so excited to hear "institutional money" will be coming in maybe because they only see the part saying "money coming in" and don't think who is behind that money.
I do believe that this can even increase the manipulation hence the volatility of bitcoin specially since the market is unregulated it would be easy to manipulate it.
1060  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Holding Strong on: September 29, 2018, 08:04:15 AM
https://www.forbes.com/sites/chuckjones/2018/04/22/bitcoin-continues-rebounding-after-april-17-tax-day/

It seems as though Bitcoin has remained at the heels of 9k even through all the doubt surrounding it. There is a lot of resistance currently at 9k as many have their sell orders set at this point. Bitcoin ha actually touched 9k for a short period of time before the sell orders brought it back down. As long as it keeps this pace there should be no doubt that a bull market is in the near future.

Good Luck Traders,
The Elysian Team

There is a lot of resistance currently at 9k and this is not nice, but on the other hand we should be happy , because we still have strong support at around 6k and this does not allow the price to fall down, but I think it's just a matter of time, when the price rise above 9k.
Bitcoin’s value has increased and improved a little from few days it is going up and I hope it will go higher would enable us to start selling for profit. Now the current price is equal to 6488 US dollar which came after improvement in value so many of the users will be in profit if they want to sell right now then they can surely sell. On the other hand, those who have bought for high market will get maximum returns.

those who wanted to sell for profit have either sold already or are waiting for a higher price such as above $8k or something like that to sell and make some profit. the rest of the market are currently only the day traders who are  constantly selling and buying within the same price range to make constant profit. these rises and falls you see are their doing so you can't really call it an "improvement"!
