My first rig testruns. Everything will be moved to a new location tomorrow.
65Gh/s more firepower will arrive within a week or so Smiley

I hope there are some fans around there which were removed just for the photo's. For the lazy, it's ~275 watts.

How about digging it in oil? :p

How does it perform? :-D

Uneventfully.

Nice!!!!
Until I move my erupters to a new hub, I get about 1% HW errors.
I had them running in a powered hub, but the power brick blew a fuse (which I still have to find and de-solder), but I've seen by the time I got less HW errors with a fan cooling them.
Since we cannot have a temperature reading I guess that this is a good measure, so...
How does it perform? :-D

Agora, é desencantar 40€ e enviar a papelada!!

Tried to run that cgminer on an old iPAQ H3850 I have here running OPIE and it just gave me "error opening terminal: vt100" Cry

(although it runs ./cgminer --help)!!

If you are using the cgminer I linked in this thread - know that it will only run on a Zipit Z2 device (more specifically, one that is running the default and very outdated kernel).

I had to build it in scratchbox, in a static mode (all of the libraries are bundled into one fat stupid binary).

So yeah - it's worthless to any other device.  But hey - you should work on compiling it from source on your iPAQ.  Because, why not?  If nothing else, as a goof (ref: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xtcbVUNO1NY).

I'd love to, but unfortunately I wouldn't know how to compile it.
It already is quite hard for me to compile for an old 32bit x86 I have. :-)
It would be very useful if it somehow managed the network and the usb peripherals, but I don't even know if the iPaq or Opie supports usb host.
In the other hand, if there was a way to use the serial port... and connect it to control an USB hub...
Oh, dreaming out loud! :p

You are a SIR!!!
Muhahahah!!!
Well pulled!!
For sometime, I've looked for the Zipit for an inexpensive terminal console, but it turned out very expensive after shipping... :-(
Well done!

Was going through some boxes earlier and found a Freezer 64 that used to be on at Athlon 3700+ years ago, thought 'it's a shame that'll never be used again'. I had been thinking recently of replacing the ramsinks that I'd had on the back of my BE...

Sorry to bother, but I'm lost in translations once again...
Are there any news for the discounted Erupters?
Depending on the discount, I'd buy some more, but I don't know how many since I can't tell how many bitcoins would remain.
Thanks!

I'm dying for news... wanted some more than those 2 promo sticks, but still waiting for the PM...!!

Got some really cheap Dell Optiplex PC's to add to my prime mining network at home. They were really cheap, apparently because 3 of 4 of them had dead PSU's. So just plug in another one right? Wrong. Dell and HP small form factor / slimline desktops use a quasi-proprietary mini 24-pin motherboard power connector that is about 1 cm smaller than a normal ATX motherboard connector. Sure, there are some adapter on ebay for about $15 from China or USA... but none in my country.

The solution was clear to me:

So I did that three times each for the three cables. Saved myself $30 on ebay + 1 month wait.

The next problem was that a normal PSU is twice the size of the Dell original. Also these cases get REALLY hot (50-60 deg C) when under 100% load for a long time, and with the original Dell PSU's they're even worse. The one with the working Dell PSU has the entire inside of the case at 50+ degrees C after 1 hour at load... not good for the components. The cooling in those Dell PSU really is terrible, you get what you pay for I guess.

And so it looked pretty silly with 3 big PSU power 3 small desktops, so I figure I will remove the cases entirely... FPGA stack style.

Taking shape!

Here's the 'installed' system on top of my bookshelf. Each has a USB to boot off.

Because installing windows for every machine takes too much time // I can't linux btw :S // I am investigating using VMWare ESXi 5.1 virtualization on them. But this is a learning curve in itself... and I have had to completely alter one of my servers just to run try and run them.

Oh yeah, each desktop is a core2duo @ 2.93 and with 3 or 4 GB ram.

EDIT: Oh yeah the three larger PSU are really old (~2002 or earlier). I'll be replacing all of them with new ones soon.

Lovely rack!!!
