So what is genesis response to the hard fork of etherum?  When will the miners get paid?

Seeing that the exchanges are on hold ...

@  eric@haobtc

Don't, it's not even worth trying, the pros vs the cons don't even come close, its like having  2 wives at the same time. Your just asking for a ton of complaints and people second guessing your reputation.  If you are profitable now then don't waste your time in cloud mining contracts..

Definitely not worth the effort..

I heard about btc on a podcast in 2011, after that i started to solo mine btc and found 2 blocks a week apart from each other. Then mined on btc guild for year+ and got 14 off there. Then i found out about butterfly labs.. and now i am broke.. only have 6 left Sad

So here is a question, how is a solo miner going to mine a merged mined coin.. ie: huc?

A roundup of new developments over the past two months:
1. We launched a fee-based exchange featuring maker-taker model.
2. We launched our trading API.
3. We now accept deposits through Alipay
4. We now support WeChat for easier login
5. Our hashrate reaches an unprecedented 70PH

What to expect next?
6. A mining pool - expected to launch over the next two weeks
7. A mobile app

Nice, I look forward to the mobile app and checking out your pool.  Just please do not SPV mine or mine empty blocks with your pool!

Lol isn't that part of being a Chinese miner, SPV mining?  Or the only requirement to work at Bitman...

I forgot which.

Well my question is, will we need more btc as a minimum buy for 1 ph/s now? instead of the going .01 btc per th/s day?

Why are all of my standard sha256 orders being cancelled?

I am not the one doing it, although i am getting back the full amount i paid..

Icon

Found a FAQ :

"Why was my order auto-cancelled (placeholders)?

System may auto-cancel orders that are very long inactive (due to very low price) or mostly Dead (placeholder orders). Our systems calculates Dead/Alive ratio for each order. Orders that are mostly Dead (>50% of time for bidding type or >10% for fixed type) are considered placeholder orders and are auto-cancelled. The remaining Bitcoins as well as remaining service fee is refunded. Order is Dead when it looses connection to the target pool (either target pool terminates connection or target pool has issues with connection). Make sure you select a stable pool to make sure your order is Alive most of the time.

Keep in mind: order is not Dead if it is not hashing (no miners on order) as long as the connection is still alive (target pool OK), but when target pool looses connection our system starts to count Dead time ratio."

Question is why do you allow 14d wait time then? All i am doing is calculating the price of 1 th/s 24 hours and using it.. and its still being canceled less then 24 hours in the queue.

312  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are these new and upcomming blockchains going to need hashrate to secure them? on: April 23, 2016, 03:07:24 AM
Ya my understanding is that you'll need some sort of "power" to move the blockchain taking outputs and using them for inputs for the next block, i mean they are calling all the new chains blockchains.. so something has to be inherited from our blockchain, else how is theirs going to work?

Else how can they "prove" anything..

Topic says it all, all these dime a dozen block chains that are coming out that everyone are creating, will they need computing power/hash rate to secure them from 51% attack like bitcoin does, or am i missing something??

"human mining" rather than simply "low risk gambling"
But the risk is the only thing that can prevent everyone from spawning masses of dumb bots.
Playing Huntercoin is not gambling because of the (really huge in % terms) positive expectancy.

Unfortunately, the future of gambling is probably a few logical steps ahead of you. Considering the history of Huntercoin it would be a shame if this trend continues with HUC leading. Somebody who (properly) counts cards at a blackjack table will have a huge positive expectancy. Should you say they are withdrawing? Mining? Words should reflect, not create.

takes ages to move the character

The person I got to try the game complained about the same thing. Also I asked him if he thought it would be more "fun" to "mine" using a simple game like pacman and he said hands down pacman wins.

yep each 1 move is a transaction, and it each transaction is ~ 1 min.. (aka block solved)
and 99.999% of all mine /work done is done via F2pool <one single mining pool...

99.+% of all coins mined? Or only of coins mined but not by players? I cannot imagine that either of those is correct but if it is even close it brings me to an unpleasant thought.

A lot of times people working on a project get a cloistered mentality and start to incorporate a sort of home for themselves, and their buddies, that excludes others.

There isn't really anything wrong with that, as long as it is upfront.

If a currency is intended to be the financial playground for "a select few" then that fact must be made plain to everybody. Once it is clear then it is not a problem. There will be a lot of currencies aimed at tiny groups, and there will be some limited "exchange value" in those coins. I had not considered that a possibility with Huntercoin until recently, but it does look like there is an "exclusive" mindset and perhaps development is (probably unconsciously) guided towards making sure that exclusivity remains in favor of a certain few.

I'll repeat that I am a strong supporter of Huntercoin still, only for its potential. I hope that there is a discussion about the possibilities of authentic human mining in a coin, and that developers start making use of what coins offer to experiment with human mining.

Let me be clear, miners "the players" get 90% of all HUC coins, what i was referring to is the hardware (sha256/scrypt) the backbone, is done by one mining pool, F2Pool, they are the horsepower that moves the coins, and each move i was referring to the count it shows when you move say from 1 side of the map to the other ~ 3 + hours to do that, every single time the toon moves its 1 transaction done by f2pool.

If that 1 pool was to go down or quit supporting huc...

Thanks Snailbrain and Mithril and Wiggi.

I'll keep trying.

An editorial note. Even though I am in the U.S. and have access to high end computers, the simple fact that I bought a good recycled computer and could not get things going should be a red flag about useability for people in countries where low end computers are going to be more prevalent. The essential value of "human mining", its significance in the development of cryptomoney, has to do with low end users, not people like me in wealthier countries. If a person could buy a cheap computer in Bombay or Jakarta and mine $2 usd worth of huc a day then HUC would be in the news probably regularly.

I would be happy if the official qt would stay connected 24/7.. like BTC qt does.. hate waiting for the qt finally shut down so i can reload it due to it being out of sync.. Sad

ah i think you still pay a fee even if you have over 1 btc in your account, only way you don't pay a fee is if you withdraw at one time 1 btc or higher, having 1 btc in your account and you withdraw less then 1 btc will trigger the fee, ... I think

"We have encountered a hardware failure with our Huntercoin server. Huntercoin payout will not be processed for the next few days."

Is there any reason why the nvidia 3.x cant mine Ethereum? I mean I've  done it with the other miners via command line/batch files and yet its not shown on your latest niceminer...

BTW it can mine all the  Blake256 versions...
