I'll link to my thread where I had issues setting up reaper on my laptop too as some of the stuff could help you even though my laptop has different hardware to yours but still worth a shot: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=93764.0 Basic steps for reaper: 1.Download and make sure you are using the latest reaper as it's less buggy than v12 (this fix works on my 2 systems) 2.I presume you wish to mine LTC (litecoins) with GPU 3.Open the reaper.conf file and remove these 2 lines from reaper: 'mine bitcoin' and 'mine solidcoin' b.save and exit in notepad or your text editor of choice. 4.Go into you litecoin.conf and modify: a.your pool host (e.g litecoinpool.org) b.then port (usually 9332 but can differ with other pools) c.username (of your miner/worker) d.password (of your miner/worker,not your account login for that pool,ok) 5.Run reaper. If this is the first time you run reaper successfully,it'll compile a binary suitable for your GPU and settings in reaper.Be paitent as this can take a while. 6.Once reaper finishes compiling itself and is successfull,it'll start mining. I did all the above but when I start reaper it begins to compile then I get "reaper.exe has stopped responding....." Any idea what could be causing this? What error is it throwing up? Click more details to get this info. Also have you tried running the 32bit version of reaper as that sorted out my problems on my laptop and desktop? The x64 seems to have more problems for some people (myself included). Also try running reaper as admin in win 7,as that can solve some issues too.Hope this helps you. I tried the 32bit version, tried running it as admin too and still get the "reaper.exe has stopped responding", no other options but to close the program

I want to try reaper on my laptop which runs Win 7 x64 and has a Radeon HD6310m gpu. I know it won't be as fast as a good GPU but I'm sure it'll be better that CPU mining LTC. I have no idea how to set it up so if somebody could give me some CONF files that might work I would greatly appreciate it.

After smoking a cigarette and taking a few deep breaths I managed to get it working. Somewhere along the line something happened that messed with the firmware. I uploaded the 832 firmware, ran a light diagnostic, and everything seems to be fine now. It's happily hashing away and all is well with the world. I'll keep an eye on it and try being more rational with the unit. This is my only BFL single and I freaked out when things went wrong but now I know how to troubleshoot which will hopefully prevent future problems. Thanks everyone for your help and suggestions.

FTDI drivers?
(btw, the light is supposed to stay on)
FTDI drivers?? (thx for the info on the light, I read another thread where someone said that the light staying on means it's throttling) You should powercycle it, then verify that the firmware took using easyminer (right click, info).v It should say firmware integrity check passed, and show a bunch of info.
I got my laptop to recognize it, the usb connection is very touchy. Going to hook it back up to my rig and see if it works. Will report back shortly.

I ran auto-tune and it selected a 700 something firmware. I power cycled between tries. The nonce LED's light up and stay solid.
I just got my laptop to recognize it, the usb connection on the single seems a little touchy. Going to play with the unit and see if I can get it hashing even thought the front LED is still constant.

I'll keep this thread here so if anyone else has a similar issue they can hopefully resolve it by reading this.

Ok, now I have your attention.
I got a BFL single from another forum member, the unit had never been used until I hooked it up. It was running fine on one of my rigs when I went to check on it a little while ago and I noticed a huge problem. The front LED was staying on constantly and it wasn't hashing. I closed CGMiner and reopened it... nothing. I unplugged the usb cable, waited a few seconds, and plugged it into another usb slot..... nothing. I unplugged the unit for a few minutes then powered it back on..... nothing. I restarted the rig and all of a sudden it wouldn't even see the single. I decided to try it on my laptop, LED stays on but laptop doesn't see it. I power cycled it and I get the same thing.
What the fukkkkk can I do to get this damn thing working again??
Win 7 x64 CGMiner 2.5.0 Single has the fan on the bottom Original power brick and usb cable

Hi everyone, my GF and I have found a successful little niche in our remote area of upstate NY. We pick blueberries and make jam, blueberry muffins, pints of blueberries, etc. We also have the kids set up a lemonade stand to give them something to do while making a few extra bucks ( we share some of the profits w/ them). Anywho, we're thinking about setting up a table at the local farmers market and thought it would be a great opportunity to spread the word about Bitcoin. We're looking for anyone who might have BTC literature, stickers, decals, magnets, whatever and would be willing to donate some to help get the word out there. Most of the local farmers are self-sufficient people who aren't too fond of the government which leads me to believe they would be pretty receptive. Imagine going to a farmers market and purchasing locally produced goods with BTC.... what a great world that would be. The farmers market runs every Friday from 4-7pm so if you would like to donate material we would need them soon. PM me if you're interested. Thanks for your help!!
P.S. - I'll make sure to take pics and post them here for all to see
