I would appreciate a Bitcointalk pardon so I can ask the OP of this thread a question about his kamikaze game:

Ps: I don't like the current mining system based on GPU power instead of CPU power.
It's coincidental.  It just so happens that GPUs are more efficient in doing the calculations needed to solve blocks.
1106  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: GUIMiner missing DLL problem -- "ImportError: DLL load failed" on: October 26, 2011, 10:43:13 PM
Note that I copied all the *.dll files from the guiminer directory into the system32 directory. That did not help.
1107  Other / Beginners & Help / GUIMiner missing DLL problem -- "ImportError: DLL load failed" on: October 26, 2011, 09:17:54 PM
I installed GUIMiner (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=3878.0), set it up with my pool (http://mtred.com) and when I try to start mining, I get the following error:

Code:
2011-10-26 16:15:38: Running command: poclbm.exe user:pass@mtred.com:8337 --device=0 --platform=0 --verbose

I'm running Windows 7, if that matters.  Thanks in advance!

As per 49er, you need to give this some more thought.

As far as I have read, encrypting your wallet when not in use is also a good idea. You can use PGP free software for that means.
Yes. And keep backed up copies of it.

Paypal doesn't like bitcoin, so you may have to find other ways of buying bitcoins.

I bought 6 bitcoins via www.virwox.com using paypal. It works ok if you don't mind downloading second life - and their fees are a bit high - but it works.
What exactly did you do?  Install Second Life, buy Linden dollars, and exchange them for bitcoins?

I fully understand the reasons for the newbie restrictions, but I have to admit that it sucks.

Only for a little while then everything is fine.
Well, I wish it would hurry up. o_O

Posting a bit to hopefully get into the main forum..

We're all in the same boat.

What I don't understand is that you have to actually post or click on links... the reading time in the threads is not considered as time logged in!!!

The software that runs these forums (SMF) has no way of knowing you are still around unless you click links / post threads etc.  If you're technically minded, you can read up on how HTTP is stateless.

There used to be CoinPal, but Paypal has apparently shut that down.  I don't know if any alternative exists.

Is it not enough to use the build-in encryption in the bitcoin client?
