However, the one part I couldn't figure out was how to stop players from colluding with themselves.
Would it not work if there is a big enough pool of players and players are assigned to tables randomly? You choose a game, but you get assigned randomly to a table.

I still think Inaba's in on it.

JUST KIDDING! Tongue
624  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [70 GH/s PPLNS] BitMinter.com *** Merged Mining! *** on: November 29, 2011, 06:06:35 PM
A quick heads up to my fellow miners in the greatest pool on earth! Smiley

I am going on a cruise this friday for a week and in the sake of promoting marital bliss I have decided to shutoff all my rigs while I am gone.  My wife would worry otherwise (although IMHO over nothing).  I have learned to pick my battles and this isn't one of them. Smiley

Grr I am going to hate passing up that ~90 BTC.  Since I push up to 10 GH/s the pool hashing power will take a little hit didn't want anyone to worry.  I am still sticking w/ BitMinter and will be firing up the rigs as soon as I get back.
Answer 1: If she is worried about a fire starting, I don't see how the odds are all that different if you are away for a week or away for an evening.

Answer 2: Marital bliss is more important than some BTC. Smiley

What is the address of the property?

So if they have no software capable of 1.05 GH how do they know it can do 1.05 GH?
I mean 1.05 GH not ~1GH or at least 1 GH.  1.05GH indicates some level of confidence and validation that obviously doesn't exist.
You can validate the subsystem .. e.g. you give it a work unit it and it completes all 2^32 nonce values in XX seconds. without having a completely working system.  Doing so you can be relatively confident of the performance of the final system, as much as you can be with any pre-production setup.
But they still should have qualified the performance specs with "expected" or "estimated", no?

Watch.

Seems to me, if this is a real company with a product that can do what they claim it can do, they would not have originally underpriced it so far.

How many ounces of gold is this?
It's gold plated.

PHP is powerful, but usually poofs out randomly after a few thousand loops. Smiley

Common... Facebook is written in PHP, I'm sure PHP can handle a lot more than few thousands loops ;-).

Disclaimer: I has been using PHP for years, but Python is much more powerful!
Only problem I have with Python is whitespace.

most scammers don't hand back the money once they have it....
They might if they want to perpetuate the scam?

When does the party start?  Oh, never mind.
633  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Poker and the shared pot at the table in a decentralised network on: November 29, 2011, 02:48:20 PM
Decentralized poker.  This needs some thought.

we have some of the toughest gun laws and I thank God for them.
Do you think they actually help keep violent criminals from obtaining weapons?  Honest question, not trolling.

So long as people don't want to die, laws work. That's changing more and more everyday.
That doesn't really answer my question.

But you're right.  Laws work for people who obey laws and they don't work for people who don't obey them.  Violent criminals, by their very definition do not obey the law, so why would they obey gun control laws?
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin has a lot of interest outside of the USA on: November 29, 2011, 07:00:05 AM
Hopefully interest around the world will grow and keep growing.

It would still be nice to have a native iOS client.

639  Other / Off-topic / Re: Alright, I am going to go through the source code. on: November 29, 2011, 06:55:49 AM
There aren't a lot of comments, but it's a relatively small code base and most things are fairly self-explanatory.
