what exactly do you mean by dosnt work? error message?
what flavor of linux are you using?
Sorry, heh. No, I mean the *link* isn't working (the btcnetwork.com server isn't responding).

The link to the 64 bit linux binary doesn't seem to be working, is there anywhere else it's available?

You're right about the confusion.

I get a random amount of free bitcoins every 24 hours from dailybitcoins.org. the payout is low, but there is a (slim) chance of a jackpot payout. (I believe the jackpot is at 10 Btc currently. I usually end up with .001 Btc per day from the site, but its .001 btc I didnt have to start with! yeah, checkout my sig. they arn't really free. You bash them, yet the link has your referral code? Hmmmmmmm.

Does dropping the memory clock affect the overall hash rate either up or down? In my own testing it seems to not affect it one way or the other, but I haven't been very scientific.

Thanks for all the input. I'm messing around with it and learning all kinds of things. One question-- how does memclock affect things in terms of energy usage and hashrate?

encrypted password list
If you're referring to how passwords are stored server-side, then it should be hashed, not encrypted (huge difference). Also, they should be salted and hashed with something like bcrypt with performs key hardening, not a hash primitive like sha256.

In terms of advertising on this, what is the reach/number of readers?
Hi btc_artist, We just opened last night and have over 100 + readers so far and is growing rapidly so whatever you feel the value is of that to a small donation to get listed is up to you. I'll be coming up with some statistics after the first email launch - even able to determine the "bitcoin buying power" of the readership! Great question if you have more let me know. Thanks for the info. I have a project I'm thinking about, but it's not quite ready to advertise yet.

Is the community better served by sharing code or supporting proprietary businesses?
As much as I like *free* software, I think we need to support proprietary businesses if Bitcoin is to go mainstream. And I don't see that conflicting with my ideals or the Bitcoin ideals. I think an LGPL license would be ideal for libbitcoin. Proprietary programs can use/link it, but if they make any improvements to libbitcoin itself, they must be made available to pull back into libbitcoin. I think it's a perfect compromise between a GPL license and an MIT/BSD style license.

Watching (because I'm using cgminer).

I'd love to see what someone's cgminer.conf file for a 5970 looks like. I'm trying to learn about all the options in cgminer for a 5970, and I'm a tad bit lost. "intensity" : "7,7", "gpu-engine" : "0-830,0-825", "gpu-fan" : "10-85,10-85", "gpu-memclock" : "300,300", "gpu-powertune" : "0,0", "gpu-vddc" : "1.050,1.050", "temp-cutoff" : "95,95", "temp-overheat" : "85,85", "temp-target" : "75,75",
Thanks. How many MH/s do you get with that setup?

I think we need merged mining with Bitcoin as the parent chain so that people can merge mine BTC/NMC/DVC all together, otherwise people won't switch from NMC to DVC for profitability reasons.

Note that depending on the item shipped and the destination country, duties and importing fees can be prohibitive.

I don't think bitcoin needs marketing until we have something better to offer in terms of desktop and mobile clients, and mobile clients fully support easy-to-use POS transactions.

Have you implemented any (more) of my suggestions?
