701  Economy / Speculation / Re: I'm All In - Sold My House! on: January 25, 2015, 07:31:13 PM
Well I guess the value of that house turned into the value of a car Sad
And it can still turn into value of whole skyscrapper.
702  Economy / Speculation / Re: weekend dumps? on: January 25, 2015, 07:29:49 PM
The explaination is simple, payment processing companies and other ones that accept bitcoin dump once a week most of the times.
703  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Anyway to put price ticker in signature? on: January 25, 2015, 07:16:47 PM
No, you can't put a price in your signature. Roll Eyes

Of course you can.
Just program a bot to change your signature every second/minute/hour.

Sure but what's the use of buying a server for this sort of things, anyone could just go to a online ticker, problem solved and no time is wasted for coding the bot.

Just to show off to others, I like it. Besides, you don't have to buy a server for this, there many free alternatives which you could use.
Might program it myself Smiley
Be sure to provide us the link after that, i'd like to see it how it works.
704  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: bitcoin UK on: January 25, 2015, 07:11:28 PM
LocalBitcoins.com is the best way but i'd rather go for online deals than face to face ones.
705  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it worth using faucets to pay for transaction fees? on: January 25, 2015, 06:56:12 PM
But how would you be able to pay fees from other address than the address you are sending the money from, that isn't possible right?
706  Other / Meta / Re: bot made accounts on: January 25, 2015, 06:33:37 PM
I wonder when will they stop, if they ever? It's just boosting member count with no purpose.

There is a captcha to create an account, how do they go over it?

Xrumer and many forum posting bots has built in OCR or Optical Character Recognition which enable the bots to read the captcha.

Can those get around the more sophisticated captchas though? Even I have trouble deciphering them sometimes. Also, what about the ones that ask you to solve a simple puzzle or question?
There are sites that pay for captcha solving, and it seems that site uses same captcha after few refreshes.

708  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: January 25, 2015, 05:54:17 PM
A pull back to $sub-240 is not only plausible but also healthy. I think we will test $240 today.

Sorry but there is nothing healthy in falling price, especially in bitcoin world where price is vital for its expansion. Only healthy thing would be stable growth, not volatile prices like now but ofcourse that would be not fun so nobody is interested (except people who are actually doing something useful for bitcoin economy).
Prise rise should happen after vital steps not prior them.
709  Other / Meta / Re: And we are Back!! on: January 25, 2015, 05:46:23 PM

ROFL guys this thread is about site beign down not the price discussion.
710  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Payment Processor "EgoPay" Confirms Hack, Insider Suspected on: January 25, 2015, 05:23:59 PM
Wasnt EGOPay a Fiat money transmitter?

I know the BTC community used it but it was all fiat at their end.

So stop blaming BTC FFS
They operated in a similar way that bitpay operates. They receive bitcoin on behalf on merchants then sell it on an exchange (also on behalf of merchants) and forward the merchant the fiat equivalent they received in bitcoin.

What appears to have happened is that someone apparently was able to get people to send bitcoin to addresses that egopay did not have the private keys to, so they never received the bitcoin and cannot sell it for fiat
That means 1.5 milion loss just for few hours while the exploit wasn't detected? Then they should be able to cover the losses as 1.5m per few hours has to have some fees.
711  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I put zero fee & it's still unconfirmed after 66 solved blocks on: January 25, 2015, 05:18:01 PM
This is getting annoying, I have been waiting so long to move $7 worth of BTC and no confirmations. Miners didn't accept my free transaction & now miners don't accept my transactions after I included a small fee. It's greedy of them to ignore it when they don't think my fee is high enough. What's wrong with 1000 satoshi? Wat do they want 50000 or something? Roll Eyes The miners should include all transactions, it's not like the fees support the network. The fee amount is tiny compared to the 25 they get every 10 minutes. Miners are earning hundreds of BTC per day and they are so greedy they won't put some transactions in the next block unless you are paying the highest fees. They would rather screw people over leaving them waiting days while we wonder where our money went. I didn't even specify the fee amount, I used whatever the wallet default was WTF.  Angry

Dude you are greedy to put atleast 10k satoshi fee wtf is up with you? Just use 10 or 20k and it will be confirmed really fast.
How is that greedy? Who cares what he is paying to, it isn't your business.
The point is, if a guy don't want to pay a fee it shouldn't be this hard and it should still go through.
Maybe they don't have the extra 20k to give.
Wow at that response, did you read the whole thread prior to attacking me? He has it on gambling that he will loose probably anyway and he doesn't have 2 cents to pay fees? U serious.
Yes and obviously you didn't comprehend "who cares who he is paying to."
The point is transaction fees, not who they pay or how they spend it.
everyone is all big about paying the tax. man up and pay it for him.
Pay it for him? Lol and how? And why? That's retarded argument.
712  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do with a VPS? on: January 25, 2015, 04:58:52 PM
you can use it to setup a bot that auto rent for you, will make you money indirectly, if the rented rig is pointed at some profitable coin
rig? he is talking about vps it's probably weak in hashing.
713  Economy / Speculation / Re: Short now = make lots of money? on: January 24, 2015, 04:59:53 PM
Ok I short at $245. Wish me luck. Tongue

Do you have an exit strategy? Never open a trade without one.
At what level of loss will you accept your original decision was wrong and get out?
No exit strategy. I'm really brave.
Plan on taking profit around $230.
Alot of soldiers etc have been brave and all they did was die. Beign brave isn't the same as success.

but if you want to success you need to be brave Cheesy
Or just be wise enought? Smiley

716  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Re-ANN] iCoin - Democratic Coin Under New Management on: January 24, 2015, 04:25:01 PM
i don't like the Algorithm  Scrypt.

What's wrong with scrypt? If you have a better algo, let us know. We can have the community vote and we can find a developer to fork the chain to a new algo.
Look into groestl algo.

I will look into it. If we can get another option or two and a developer, we can put it up for a vote
Well you gotta search for it and not hope that he will show himself magically.
717  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Payment Processor "EgoPay" Confirms Hack, Insider Suspected on: January 24, 2015, 04:13:32 PM
Luckily i already spend all of my balance in my egopay account to buy BTC
But, no investigation or reverse transaction ?

I hope they can recovery soon

I don't see what they could do beside that , really . We are talking about bitcoin here it's not like they can catch the guy by tracing transactions on his Credit card or his Bank accounts . Not sure if the amounts hacked are in BTC tho Shocked
The ammounts are in US dollar.
718  Other / Politics & Society / Re: 'Designer babies' debate should start, scientists say on: January 24, 2015, 04:12:12 PM
the problem here:

who will get the designer babys?

the 1 %.

who is profiting from it?

the 1%.

who will not profit from it?

the other 99%

i think this a pretty realistic prediction.

Yes, but, if we get enough good designer babies from the 1%, they will gradually replace the 99%. As they replace them, they will push the 1% to 2%, and then to 4%, because they will be designed smart enough to gradually out think, out perform, and out live the weaker, 99%. after awhile it will be freedom for all, because all will be designer smart, and there will be nobody who can outsmart any of them into slavery.

Smiley
So you mean that "they" will be the 99% and "we" the rest 1%? That would suck...
719  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: What to do with a VPS? on: January 24, 2015, 04:04:34 PM
I just got a VPS and it's currently running as a Bitcoin node..
Right now I really don't know what to do with it.

What can I do with my VPS that can earn me some money?
You can host mmorpg server there if you can develop some good vip system for money Wink

Oh yeah, be creative. There are many way to earn money Cheesy
Hey, how about use VPS as a bot for trading Bitcoin? Maybe it possible Grin
It would be but what would it be good for? Trading bots suck until u have big ammounts that could manipulate the numbers.
720  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Payment Processor "EgoPay" Confirms Hack, Insider Suspected on: January 24, 2015, 03:59:33 PM
So all they did was kicking the suspected persons and not doing anything about it? That's sad, like come on, no investigation?
The authorities dont care about any of this it seems, for they to care Bitcoin would need to get more formal regulations and I dont know if its worth it.
There are regulations set in alot of states already, aren't they?
