Sam Williams @samecwilliams Those were ANS-102 bundles, optimised for small files. The new bundle spec (ANS-104) works great for all kinds of files -- small and large. The trick is that as everything is permanent, data can be grouped and committed together -- there are no individual storage terms, etc. Sam Williams Subsequently, the base protocol doesn't even need to know where individual transactions start/end. All it cares about is the merkle roots, and that somebody has paid for the storage. When gateways encounter a bundle they can index it (storing the offsets at which each entry starts in a DB), and use it to route user requests to data IDs when requested. Awesome work, seriously impressive stuff.

Where is the high performance compute in Arweave? It's storage-only. Same as Filecoin, Sia, Storj, etc.
They're decentralized storage protocols. You can do that with a hard drive in your pocket. Compute requires bandwidth, networking, security, etc. Its data centers. Not spare servers and spare laptops. A different game none of them can play unless they upgrade the economic models of their protocols to support the capex intense nature of high performance compute.
Store is building a different world.

Good that you are in profit with ICP now. When ICP was listed I though its too high marketcap, was in top 10 or even higher. Now I think I will buy some
ICP i realised is all about the 10th of every month...they release coins, so what i have been doing is buy a few weeks after, so around 24th of each month and selling just before the 10th of the following month. Today is 10th and price is up 14% Yea bull market taking up almost every coin , the ICP pump may slow down a bit due to coin release today.

Smart move on the AR buy...hodl these gems as tight as you can. ICP lol, i caught that at the wrong time, $300ish i think , luckily it dropped so low ($30) i dca'd my entry price and got back into profits when it went over $50...bit of a pain tbh but thats crypto , cant win every time, but with the right strategy and a bit of luck it can be fixed. AVAX...love it, great progress with the new ETH bridge and alot more...and still so cheap.

Ethereum itself can be used as a decentralized storage system, and in fact it is when it comes to code storage in all the smart contracts. When it comes to large amounts of data, however, that isn't what the system is designed for. At the time of writing, the Ethereum chain is around 350GB, and every node on the network needs to be able to store all 350GB of data. If the chain were to expand to large amounts of data (say 5TBs) it wouldn't be feasible for all nodes to continue to run. Also, this can get incredibly expensive to deploy new data due to the size. Due to these constraints, we need a different chain or methodology to storing large amounts of data in a decentralized manner. When looking at decentralized storage (dStorage) options, there are a few things a user must keep in mind.
