1061  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XRP] Ripple Speculation on: July 14, 2018, 08:45:22 PM

coinbase added few coins but not XRP? lol

the bitches up there must have been trying to collecting more than a billion of xrp before they will try adding it. can't blame them for doing so, xrp has been added to any exchange we know. impossible to think they won't.
Hi Electron...spot on m8....
imo , theres more to this....
https://www.marketwatch.com/story/coinbase-says-its-exploring-adding-5-news-coins-to-its-platform-as-bitcoin-slips-2018-07-13

main point being...
On Friday, the company in a news blog said it can’t guarantee any of the assets mentioned will find a permanent home on its exchange.

So i think coinbase wil be throwing out a few more names of other coins and not all named coins will be chosen.
As for XRP...coinbase already know the high demand/volume it can bring, we all saw what happened on the last rumour.

The work Ripple and SBI are doing with XRP, will be so big, coinbase will have to list it.

work such as....
One of the specific functions of XRP is as a bridge currency, which can be necessary if no direct exchange is available between two currencies at a specific time, for example when transacting between two rarely traded currency pairs.

Now many wont understand how significant this is for XRP, but i think i do and its all making sense to me....
XRP has a very good chance to become #1 coincap...

pro tip.....BUY AND HODL XRP ASAP.  Kiss Cool Smiley

Shocked Shocked :oIt will not just be a trading pair
Elaborating on the collaboration, it was described by Ripple that SBI VC will not just hold XRP/JPY as its first trading pair, but that the exchange is also going to actively join Ripple’s global payments ecosystem called xRapid, which facilitates international payment transfers using XRP and Ripple’s enterprise solutions.

It was explained by the company that through this system, SBI VC will facilitate “payment providers and banks who are transferring money into and out of Japan” by allowing them rapid transfers between JPY to XRP and vice versa. By implementing this practice, SBI VC will look towards benefitting from xRapid’s high liquidity and timely transfer solutions in international payments, especially in new and emerging markets.

https://www.bitguru.co.uk/crypto-news/sbi-holdings-exchange-selects-ripple-for-first-trading-pair/

They bring the same liquidity to XRP like it would be traded in a FOREX market.  Needless to say that it will improve some value for this undervalued gem.

Havent they always talked about liquidity and volume for XRP? Miguel did a great job(0doughnuts) volume rose from 2 million since he started to 200 million on average daily.

Great points MB
Id say the whole XRP team has excelled in delivering what they promised ..

How much does a Bloomberg terminal cost per month?
Bloomberg is now charging $24,000 a year for a single terminal subscription. The closely held company doesn't publicize its prices, which are the most expensive among financial data providers.

I see DCR over $2bill, should be heading around top 10.

Ok just here to share a thought....
DCR Decred imo meets all of coinbase criteria for listing a coin and wiess also recently gave it a high and well deserved rating.
I would expect DCR listed on coinbase.

If you have bought crypto on credit and still owe.... pay off the debt and dont use credit cards.

http://fortune.com/2018/01/13/credit-cards-to-buy-bitcoin/
recent poll shows that nearly one-fifth of all Bitcoin buyers are using credit cards to fund their investments, likely paying hefty fees for the privilege. A large portion of those buyers then carry the balance instead of paying their cards off, implying that they’re highly leveraged – but confident that their investments will grow in value.  <---THIS  ( it will eventually grow sure, but can you live and pay the debtors until it happens)?

Right so ...crypto pumps , credit is allowed to buy at ath....
crypto begins dump...credit is restricted....when crypto is cheap in the future you wont beable to use another credit card as they will all add new T&C stopping crypto purchases.

people in credit card debt will not be saved by crypto, instead they will be the biggest losers.

This downtrend will continue and the debt for some will keep increasing.
Dont buy crypto with money you dont already have and can afford to lose.

Good luck.

Bitcoin Price Has Hypothetical Value of $1,800: Federal Reserve Report
“Although Bitcoins do not possess any real intrinsic value, from a commodity valuation perspective, we can estimate a hypothetical value based on its production costs. Recent estimates regarding the energy involved in mining a single Bitcoin by professional energy-efficient mining rigs put it at about $1,800 when mined in China (where 80% of the currently mined Bitcoins originate).

I said a few month back around $2k to mine 1 og btc...
Probably going to go lower than that ( $800-$1400 possible )

The energy is obviously not the only cost of mining, so his hypothetical value is far from realistic.
To mine 1 BTC with 1 Antminer S9 one needs 1223 days at constant (=current) difficulty.
The energy used during that time would be ~40k kWh (cost ~ $2000 at $0.05 per kWh).
S9 price is ~$900-1000, so energy + miner would be $3000, and then there're other costs, like employees, buildings, HVAC, repairs, etc.

True for the average consumer(miner)your prices are probably accurate.
However for industrial scale miners, its not, its alot cheaper.
They buy asics in bulk and get cheaper elec, leading to huge savings.

Also the producers of asics are always  ahead.
While average miners use s9, the asic producers will be using "testing" s10 and be creating s11 always remain a few steps ahead of the rest.

Probably true about the equipment prices, but energy at $0.05 is rather low... at least for US and EU, not sure about China and far east in general.
Also, for the average consumer grade miner there're no additional costs of large buildings, HVAC installations and employees, so the costs aren't much different imo.
We probably both right depending on the miner.
I think we can agree the price to mine 1og btc is between $2k - $3500 , def not the $8k some places have been reporting.
Lets say $2700 is an average price ...that price will 100% happen for og btc and
then more panic dumping can take its price lower than $2k, imo

I wonder if Jihan or some other big mining group will tell us the cost for them to mine 1og btc. Smiley

Yes, your average is plausible, and... No, I doubt big miners will ever disclose their costs  Undecided

I know its from crazy John lols but  here is a recent comment(dec2017) from him regarding cost to mine a btc..

Hmm. Central banker misunderstands where the value of a currency comes from. Defines it in terms of trade balances between nations. Yet in a frictionless environment, it will not be the 'nations' that choose their adopted currency. It will be the people therein.

Personally, once most people understand the nature of a currency that cannot be inflated upon a whim, I belive they will choose such an immutable currency.

Which bodes poorly for his position.

Lastly, if he wants to ascribe correspondence between currency and 'nation', then fine. We are the nation named Internet. Deal with that, central banker dude.
What you say will happen, i agree, but not yet.
I believe it was the central bankers that made og btc so over priced in the first place.
(Davos ,world economic forum 2016 is where it began, btc price was around $500 , they were buying a few month before , around Nov2015 before the forum in 2016 at around $250)

Its very easy for them to scare away people from crypto(short term) by causing huge price manipulation...making fiat seem like the safer choice.
