1261  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: PSA : Final Litecoin LTC GPU miner released !!! on: March 16, 2012, 10:40:32 PM
Is it just me or does this not seem profitable for 5870 series cards due to slow memory I/O Huh

300 khash/s vs 440 mhash/s Roll Eyes

Hashrate is irrelevant since you are mining with two different algorithms on Bitcoin and Litecoin.

That is correct but I was referring to the profitability that each hashrate can bring.

Just did some calculations right now.

400 khash/s for one 5870 mining LTC scrypt : 0.3 BTC / 24 hours

440 mhash/s for one 5870 mining BTC SHA256 : 0.3 BTC / 24 hours

SO what to do now ? LTC or BTC ?

http://allchains.info/calc.html

Mining LTC means you will make roughly .03-.04USD a day more then BTC.

Yep, my node got hit by it for a little bit too.
1263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] The Litecoin PPS Pool - We pay for stale shares! on: March 15, 2012, 11:37:38 PM
Pooler, is the lack of reaper v13 having long polling hurting you at all with the increased stales?
1264  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC mining with Reaper on a 7970 on: March 15, 2012, 11:29:45 PM
Am I right in thinking a 6870 has 1120 shaders,4 threads so 4480?

Yeah, the 6850 has 960 shaders according to AMDs site.

So 960 * 5 = 4800
I get exactly 250kh/s at aggression 17.

With it at 6144 I get 259kh/s with aggression 17 and 250kh/s with aggression 16.
1265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC mining with Reaper on a 7970 on: March 15, 2012, 08:08:19 PM
Funny, I get higher kH/s on my 6850 with 6144 then I do its optimal number (3840).

I fixed up the hardware page on the wiki and split the CPU and GPU sections!

I updated the Wiki page to include GPU/CPU Sections, and overall cleaned out all the old listings. Please add your GPU's here:

https://github.com/coblee/litecoin/wiki/Mining-hardware-comparison

I may have added a few of yours already (I think I copied one 6950 from here). If you see it don't list it down twice!

6850 Stock Clock = 775Core/1000Mem = 203kh/s
6850 Overclocked = 923Core/1025Mem = 256kh/s

Config:
Code:

worksize 256
aggression 16
threads_per_gpu 2
sharethreads 18
lookup_gap 2
gpu_thread_concurrency 6144
1269  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC GPU Miner Source Code Reward Thread on: March 13, 2012, 07:47:28 PM
Try lower aggression.

Yes, I did that. I also played with all the other settings. The result is the same: 100% stales all the time.

I had trouble with worksize, anything under/over 256 would break my miner, making it report MH/s rather then kH/s and it wouldn't send any shares. Try 256 worksize. Also, as bad as this may sound, you could mine a litecoinpool because it pays for stales. But you would only be benefiting yourself, so I wouldn't.
1270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC GPU Miner Source Code Reward Thread on: March 13, 2012, 10:20:28 AM
Any of you guys solo mining LTC with reaper?

I'm not submitting any shares in reaper but GPU is @ 100%,just wondered if this is normal. Huh

I told you, when you solo mine duckie, one share = a block Cheesy

Therefor you will have to wait awhile. Or, you know, you can point your miner to my ltc p2pool node. :~)

Edit:

Looking at litecoinpool, you have about 300kh/s if it is correct. Therefor, it should take you about 4-7 hours per block. (Variance is a killer though)
1271  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: P2Pool Server List on: March 13, 2012, 04:06:14 AM
Well, 01BTC10, You inspired me. I threw up a p2pool node on my VPS, if anyone wants to mine with me!

Code:
Los Angeles, California::USA::http://litep2pool.sytes.net:9327/::%0.25::LTC::LiteP2Pool::Tittiez

Its in LA, but I live in PA and still have ~90ms latency, so it should be good all around North America. I don't really take much of a fee (.25 of 1%), as I will be doing my own mining here myself. Payouts work like any other p2pool node! Its LTC only, so don't be pointing your BTC address here.

Website:  http://litep2pool.sytes.net/

I think I can guarantee 99% uptime, other then when I say that I will be taking it down for maintenance of sort.
1272  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC GPU Miner Source Code Reward Thread on: March 12, 2012, 07:32:40 PM
Well, as pooler said, it's not really profitable at this point to LTC GPU mine, unless you don't pay for electricity. Some may choose to mine, but if they pool mine, they will get less than BTC mining.

Wrong actually, I am making a few more cents a day LTC GPU mining. http://allchains.info/calc.html
1273  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: LTC GPU Miner Source Code Reward Thread on: March 12, 2012, 10:16:09 AM
Anybody can upload Reaper 13 to other sites please? Cannot access zerosignalgame.com   Sad

Win x64

http://www.mediafire.com/?9mtd7l1ntl9f5uk

Thanks, Taco!   Grin

Edit:

I'm getting "The procedure entry point inet_pton could not be located in the dynamic link library WS2_32.dll".

I'm using WinXP 64.

Edit #2

Tried the 32 bit version (thanks, Ahimoth). Works fine doing BTC and SC but not on LTC. It exits right after finishing compiling the kernel. Anybody able to run Reaper 13 Beta 2 on 68xx?

My post at the top of this page is with a 6850 on Win 7 x64 using the 64 bit version.
1274  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: P2Pool Server List on: March 12, 2012, 05:55:42 AM
Alright! Let's mine those coin!

Ouch, 16% stale. Should the stale count be similar to actual p2pool, or should be be like regular mining?

Quote
Stales
P2Pool stales don't work the same way as stales on centralized pools. On a centralized pool a stale is work which is too old to be accepted by the pool's Bitcoin node; this kind of stale is very rare in P2Pool because each user runs their own local bitcoind.

On P2Pool stales refer to shares which can't make it into the sharechain. Because the sharechain is 60 times faster than the Bitcoin chain many stales are common and expected. However, because the payout is PPLNS only your stale rate relative to other nodes is relevant; the absolute rate is not.

There are two reported kinds of stales in P2Pool: "DEAD ON ARRIVAL" shares and orphan shares. Dead shares were too old by the time they arrived at your local P2Pool. Very high dead rates can indicate miner misconfiguration. Orphan shares are shares which were not extended by the rest of the P2Pool network, because some other miner's share was accepted first. Very high orphan rates may indicate network connectivity problems.

From the P2Pool wiki: https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/P2Pool

I know, what I was asking is if I should have high stales if I am pointing my miner at a node. My CPU Miner only has 1.75% stale, so I know that reapersv13's broken longpolling was causing all the stales. Once mtrlt fixes it I'll point my gpu back to you.

For now I cannot mine, as reapers longpolling is broken for me (That's what is causing all the stales). Once its fixed I'll point my gpu back at you! I'll leave my cpu pointed at you though (20kh/s).
1276  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: P2Pool Server List on: March 12, 2012, 01:51:13 AM
Maybe it's me. I will check my settings and come back after some more testing.

Fixed the previous problem (dunno how, but I did).
