3661  Other / Meta / Re: Requesting theymos to serve a notification regarding MMM on: October 18, 2015, 01:01:34 AM
MMM is a declared Ponzi run by a guy named Sergei Mavrodi. In 1990 he made a disruption in Russian economy. According to Wikipedia from 5 to 40 million people lost up to $10 billion. Then he was jailed, but after coming out he made two more Ponzi MMM-2011 & MMM-2012. Both have failed. Currently he is running MMM Global which is spread across South Africa, India, Indonesia and many other developing countries.

I recently came across MMM Global Republic of Bitcoin through a reddit post. It seems many people are buying into bitcoin across the globe just to be part of this Ponzi. BTCC CEO Bobby Lee said the same to CoinDesk.

When this MMM Global Republic of Bitcoin will collapse, the effect will be catastrophic. Please do not confuse it as other petty Ponzis that run on Bitcointalk. It'll not only drown those who invested in the Ponzi, but may also take down the bitcoin price at ground zero. Please note that Mavrodi's Russian Ponzi was many times bigger than bitcoin's total market cap.

Hence, as theymos controls bitcoin.org, bitcointalk.org & /r/bitcoin, I'd request him to pin an awareness notification in all these sites.

This MMM is also popular in my country. I believe there is really a need to notify people that this is some kind of pozi because as I can see it, people who joins MMM doesn't even have knowledge in bitcoins. It's just a tool they use to earn profit. They claim it to be a mutual fund sharing and thus people are enganged to join.  Undecided

3663  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is there any female BitcoinTalker around you? on: October 18, 2015, 12:26:41 AM
I am a she! lol. Cheesy How do I put this in words? Well it's not true that only nerdy people (regardless of gender) will have interest what bitcoin is. I know a lot of people who has interest in bitcoin, not that deep tho. They take bitcoin as a way of earning online.
3664  Other / Meta / Re: Why my Account is Locked [ Help needed ] on: October 18, 2015, 12:22:14 AM
So its been 5 days now and I still didn't get my account back
And also no reply
Just keep sending them a PM and email every few days.

Should I still send him email because I can't access my email ?
Or I should try sending with another email ?

I don't think badbear or theymos will notice your email if you use a different email other than the one connected to your account. I doubt you will recover it that way   Undecided

Have you tried sending pm to badbear or theymos here?
Also don't send multiple emails. You get least chance of being notice because of that.
3665  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will grow, if we create opportunities for people to earn it. on: October 17, 2015, 11:53:23 PM
What is the difference between "earning bitcoins" and earning dollars and buying bitcoins? I don't see a difference so I don't understand why it is important to "earn bitcoins".

I had to agree with this. Earning $ and BTC is the same. You use fiat to buy BTC . Isn't there already a way to monetize BTC?

The problem why people wont still use BTC is because they are not fully aware. Yes if we give them the coins and teach them where to use it, they will use it some time but what about the votality? If they don't fully understand how the bitcoin thing works then they will not replace fiat with it. We need to educate them as the same time. Not just give them way to earn BTC.
3666  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Give me Ideas on: October 17, 2015, 12:59:13 PM
What do you want to be created? Post below. If you like one of my Ideas, use the Poll!

Android Appstore would be a great idea however it may need several developers because to first make it popular users have to create their own unique games and add them their , and on the same time they can make in game purchases which are related to that store with BTC.

A freelancer website would be a great idea as-well if you have enough money for advertising etc ... because we see few websites out there however they are pretty dead and not known at all .
Currently, I teamed up with Coinbuddy, and we're working on http://www.bitappo.com/
It is an appstore, and I'm the developer there

Can you give us more details as what is this that you are developing? I'm quite confuse as the OP says what I want to be created but I saw the above post that tjere is already a site?
3667  Economy / Services / Re: Teespring Designers on: October 17, 2015, 10:58:35 AM

Hey bro could you send me details of the designs that you want on the tshirts? I used to design our school tshirt way back before high school. I may be able to do this one for you.

3668  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Has anyone else heard of this website claiming to sell stuff and accept bTC??? on: October 17, 2015, 12:07:37 AM
Just stay away from faulty websites. If they are not well built enough then the only possible reason why the site is down is they are not a legit one. If you want to purchase goods, there are plenty of ads here in the goods section. You might find what you are looking for in there. You should check that out. Wink
3669  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's stopping people from using bitcoin? on: October 16, 2015, 02:47:01 PM
They lack confidence in bitcoins, I guess? It's like if you were to choose from something you have been too familiar with for a long time and something that is new to you. I also think awareness is not enough because if they don't full understand what bitcoin and the potential of bitcoin with it's advantages, they really won't be interested in using it.
3670  Other / Meta / Re: Seriously? "WARNING: This user is a newbie.." on: October 16, 2015, 02:41:51 PM

Hugroll is right, one reminder attached to first message is enough. But if every next message looks like this, you really appear like a scammer to other members.

Get over it bro, it only takes a month to reach jr. member so if you want to remove that warning message, wait until you turn jr.

Chill. If you followed the topic you know I have been here for 2 years. So how does it work? You are tuning into Jr with a time or with an activity where you are actually logged in?

The quickest way I see it is to pass some certain amount of comments/posts.

If you have really been here for two years then you do know that the activity is not about how many post you make here. It's about the time you spent in the forum, with accordance to the 14 activity every 14 days. Wink
3671  Economy / Services / Re: 1,000 guaranteed real, human visitors to your site for BTC 0.003 on: October 16, 2015, 02:30:58 PM
Uhhhh.. OP went offline without responding to my PM but he was online a while a go. I already sent a payment.  Should I be worried?  Undecided
For such a small payment probably not, could be that he went to configure your site or something. I don't think any person in right mind would destroy their member account for 0.003(that was what you sent right?)

Yea, I sent 0.003 btc to try if it will work on my site.
Well I hooe you are right that OP will not ruin his acciunt here.  I was hoping I'll receive even a small response from him for me to wait for the service but then he didn't respond so I don't know how to feel avout that.

Check out http://adfoc.us/ it seems they are paying with bitcoins by checking their FAQs. It's also pretty legit cuz I know someone uses it but he uses paypal for his payments instead of bitcoins.

I don't know if it's just my browser but I am having an error about certificate authentication?  Undecided

I think it's just you, I just looked at the site and it's working fine. Maybe it's because on your device time, I used to have the same errors(the certificate error thingy) on some sites when my computer's time is incorrect, check it out and update it.

No, I'm using my phone and there is no problem regarding my time. Also I tried clearing browser cache. I may try this one to another device, maybe tomorrow. Anyway, thanks again!

3678  Other / Meta / Re: Seriously? "WARNING: This user is a newbie.." on: October 16, 2015, 10:33:48 AM
Well, if you do business here its a common sense you would like to check the person beforehand. "This user is a newbie" huge text indeed reminds people about it but don't you think it might be a complete turnoff? I don't think admins here tracks reply rate of personal messages from newbies but I won't be surprised if the reply rate is very low due to this red, bold text. This is my main concern.

Let's just put it this way, people here are literate enough to understand why there is a warning and lliterate enough not to complain about it. Get over it. Wink
3679  Other / Off-topic / Based on my avatar, what can you say about my personality? ;D on: October 16, 2015, 10:15:08 AM
So ye, I've uploaded a new avatar here. It looks cool for me and it somehow has a connection based on my personality.

What do you think? Cheesy

Just wanted to share this free Princeton University course on Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies.

I found it very helpful in understanding Bitcoin and other cryptos.

https://www.coursera.org/course/bitcointech

Enjoy!

I currently have this course on my list but I still don't have time to finish it. Btw, thanks for posting this as I've already forgotten about this one. LOL. Grin Maybe I could use some readings now. Cheesy
