201  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: bASIC not shipping / change of owership / refunds etc. on: January 15, 2013, 02:41:24 PM
got my chargeback today too.

Until BTC has more protection for buyers, I don't see myself ever buying any big-ticket items with them in the future.  It seems scams are just too easy.
202  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Anyone still buying GPUs? on: January 02, 2013, 10:44:19 PM
For what? Gaming or mining?

Sorry, I should clarify.  It's for mining.  Wanted to gauge the community sentiment on if purchasing old GPUs for mining is still worthwhile.  My rough calculations at today's difficulty- a 5870 would need about 90-100 days to pay for itself.
203  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Anyone still buying GPUs? on: January 02, 2013, 08:35:46 PM
I've been combing my local B&S web sites and see prices for 5800 series down to sub 100 dollar levels.  Would any of you still buy a 5870 card for a hundred bucks at this time?  Thanks.
204  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [70 GH/s] BTCOxygen.com - Pure PPS | Stratum Support | Low Fee on: December 30, 2012, 07:38:55 AM
I have been at payout threshold under this same username and it hasn't paid out yet.  Is the pool still working?

working great so far here

Hopefully your family and yourself are okay.  Just seeing the storm on TV is chilling.
207  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Look at wut I just saw on Facebook. BFL. on: October 30, 2012, 03:33:00 PM
Heh maybe Avalon may ship at the same time as all the other asics.

Is each tower a stack of bASICs?
209  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Sucker born every minute on: October 29, 2012, 05:27:27 AM
I use Cavirtex and they sound similar to what this company is doing.  Just have a secondary chequing account that has limited funds you can lose if something does go wrong.
210  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will we be able to mine Litecoin with ASIC's? on: October 29, 2012, 01:55:25 AM
I wonder if any ASIC manufacturers out there could be working on a LTC ASIC?  They could get into a dominant market position like BFL did if they got in early.
211  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 28, 2012, 06:58:54 PM
Hopefully the answer is yet.  It would ridiculous if it was 60 per device...
212  Other / Off-topic / Re: Already delays in BFL shipment plans? on: October 27, 2012, 06:55:31 PM
I think that's all conjecture at this time, since there has been no official taping out etc from Tom regarding the bASIC either.  It's still up in the air who will ship first right now.
213  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: AMD Layoffs on: October 25, 2012, 10:38:50 PM
Investmentwise, AMD is probably near rock bottom at the moment.  Anyone buying AMD at this time?
214  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Parallella: A Supercomputer for Everyone (Ending Saturday Oct 27, 6:00pm EDT) on: October 25, 2012, 03:17:52 AM
but will it mine?
215  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 24, 2012, 11:34:21 PM
pretty sure people could file fraudulent chargebacks with their credit cards if Tom has verified tracking info to an address other than the billing address.
216  Economy / Economics / Re: When I hear "people should spend all of their money" instead of saving... on: October 24, 2012, 09:33:36 PM
what about the stockmarket?  would you consider buying them saving?  It's like you're spending fiat to try to gain more fiat.
217  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Re-purposing of FPGA boards made for mining on: October 24, 2012, 03:40:01 AM
would anyone consider a bounty for a WPA cracking firmware like what Cablepair had organized for an improved modminer quad fw?
218  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 23, 2012, 10:58:12 PM
I ordered something from the US to Canada last year using DHL and one advantage is that their brokerage fee was around 10 dollars flat instead of a climbing one like with UPS.
219  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 23, 2012, 07:30:26 PM
Tom, since so many people are asking for it.  Would you be able to clarify what we should do to get express shipping?  Thank you.  Figure I'd do this before emailing you.
220  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: High Efficiency FPGA & ASIC Bitcoin Mining Devices https://BTCFPGA.com on: October 23, 2012, 07:11:58 PM
Is overnight shipping even an option?  Thanks.  It wasn't available when I ordered.
