241  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: "Avalon" ASIC, announcement & pre-order. pre-order over. project started. on: October 14, 2012, 08:25:03 PM
Since it's from China, coming to Canada, any estimation of duties that will be levied?
242  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [SALE] Discounted Icarus FPGA [UPGRADABLE to Avalon ASIC] on: October 14, 2012, 04:03:49 PM
Trade-ins only apply to the future full price of 1999 according to NZhang's thread and not the 1299 price.

400 Ghash wow...so when asics do come, what will happen to the old equipment?  Unless it's all BFL stuff that will be traded up.
244  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL is shipping out August FPGA orders on: October 13, 2012, 05:30:43 AM
The asics and FPGAs are probably released at different manufacturing process/facilities.  It is likely safe to say that delay on the FPGA doesn't mean asics are behind too.

Bitcoins are still totally speculative at this point.  Likely very few of us will get rich but most of us wont have total losses

This may fool complete bitcoin noobs that are shopping for BFL products.

Just glad I'm in the queue for one.  Looking forward to the news!

are wpa cracking firmwares allowed to be released publicly?  Or are there laws against it?

do you block people from the same IP address from playing on the same table?  i think most other poker sites do.
251  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [ANN] Protect your future GPU mining earnings with CoinLab's 95-97% PPS Pool on: October 07, 2012, 05:09:44 AM
Are you planning on adding merged mining with nmc?

+1

getting an extra 0.5% or so for free would be a bonus incentive to hash for your pool
252  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Thoughts on Pyramining? on: October 06, 2012, 09:36:16 PM
Where do the returns come from?  Are you basically paying an unknown person BTC so they can mine on your behalf?
253  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: power line (mains) noise (dirtly electricity) from Power Supplies HEALTH HAZARD on: October 06, 2012, 04:22:23 AM
BFL has been announcing features out of thin air left and right, but if they could include one of the filters that Mad7Scientist is selling, I would quickly cancel all my other asic orders and load up on their Singles.

Which company can give me the fewest spots/Gigahash?
254  Economy / Gambling / Re: SealsWithClubs.eu - Biggest Bitcoin Poker Site - Ring games, MTTs and Freerolls on: October 05, 2012, 07:41:40 PM
Any thoughts to a bad beat jackpot?  That would help draw increased traffic to ring games.

Secondly, will there be consideration for deposit bonuses that required x number hands to clear?  I know if I had put in a bunch of BTC for the bonus, I would be playing a lot more plus it would give me something to work towards clearing.

Finally, is there anyway to connect to the server via port 80?  I can't connect from behind my work's firewall  Embarrassed

could also be someone just trying to mess with the community and stoke rumors.

It would be nice though if Avalon had the enduser in mind and disallowed transfers of orders to make sure their product ends up in miners' hands and not in scalpers.

258  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: GPU MINERS: What is your Electricity Cost? on: October 05, 2012, 12:07:11 AM
Just under 15 cents/kwh here in Alberta.  Though the fees add up.
259  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: What are the chances Bfl. Basic. Avalon. Etc use the same gear? on: October 04, 2012, 12:17:53 PM
60 first cropped up probably because the Avalon  makers wanted a 50% boost over BFL's initial single offering.
260  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: 3 GPU fans died on me this month. Someone please help me. :( on: October 03, 2012, 12:14:30 PM
reoiling can help a little bit but I found that once my reference fan started making the grinding sound, eventually it wouldn't spin properly despite how much grease I tried to reapply and had to replace it.
