That is indeed good to hear! However, after the bitmain debacle regarding their supposed version & support of p2pool - I'm a little wary to say the least. After all, 21 Inc. is a business, & businesses don't do anything if there's no money to be made doing it. If I used twatter - I'd follow him though

Are there any DNS related functions, tools or features you are missing at the moment which should be implemented into the next beta of 611 (SixEleven)?
It would be nice if the wiki linked to a 611 guide instead of the namecoin one, which is a little basic. Maybe a more detailed guide could be done explaining all the functions & "how to's" in laymans terms (with screen shots) for us newbies to make understanding the coins DNS features would attract more users?

Hi p3yot33at3r,
indeed it has shown that using the passport for verification is far to impractical, so we opened up for everyone to register until we find a better fitting solution.

Good idea Crypto users are a shy lot Being required to upload personal & privileged documents to an unknown entity pretty much goes against the whole principal of crypto & decentralization IMHO.

It's a tough nut to crack.......

Yeah, I read about that. Unfortunately it seems it's easier/cheaper/less risky for miners just to up & leave instead of being prepared to "chip in" towards a long-term improvement - which at the rate the diff is rising, I can't say I blame them

I'm not sure, but why don't we raise funds for the development team that can do this (maybe it's a bad idea). I think we should act more active rather than passively wait for volunteers.
This has also been discussed many times in the past, but finding a coder willing to step up (huge task) as well as people who are willing to donate has proven impossible unfortunately. I've read through this thread many times & it seems some users think that either there is no need for development because it's perfect already, or that it is some kind of crime to even think about it - so nothing happens & miners go elsewhere. **waits for torrent of abuse**

This version is not -ck's, but it is using the mainline cgminer.

ty but fan go to 100%....normal?
Only on startup, then it calms down otherwise re-do it.

thank you I have 3 s5 ... you can write me the command ssh for install? ty S5 binary install: cd /tmp wget http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/antminer/s5/4.9.0-150105/cgminer chmod +x cgminer mv /usr/bin/cgminer /usr/bin/cgminer.bak cp cgminer /usr/bin /etc/init.d/cgminer.sh restart
This is NOT persistent - re-do after reboot. Or you can use this firmware version: https://www.dropbox.com/s/a3qqhgh3awcrw1i/SD-S5-20150107_cgm_4_9_0-queue_1_submit.tar.gz?dl=0Which is persistent through reboots.

Runs fine yes, but the bitmain driver throws away what could be potential block solves on p2pool...
the problem is only for s7? or even s5 - s3....? There is a discussion that contains all modified antminer drivers for p2pool? .. but it certainly isn't the only one . Do you think it's just bad luck or other? Antminer binaries: http://ck.kolivas.org/apps/cgminer/antminer/Bad luck, rising diff, crap firmware, lack of hash power - all of these are contributory factors I'm afraid, although bad luck & high diff affects all pools, not just p2pool.

With all these S7's flying out the door, p2pool is missing out due to the usual bitmain firmware that broke cgminer.
I'd like to suggest starting a bounty for kano to do his magic on the S7 as he did with previous bitmain firmwares - I think it would encourage more miners to p2pool if they knew their S7's worked properly here.
We need moar powa!
No point sending me any BTC Until I get the S7 that was supposedly gonna be sent to me ... ages ago ... I'm just gonna wait on that. Though maybe Bitmain didn't like the idea of me getting one before they pushed the network above where I wouldn't lose money mining with it more than 9hrs a day I was thinking if I got it in the first batch I'd be able to mine 18hrs a day, but now it's already approaching a loss for me to use it anything more than the 9hrs each night when my elec is cheap ... but they don't really care either way anyway, my fixes have been in master cgminer for more than a year and a half now and they aren't in the S7 either ... How about if you had access to an S7 via ssh? Or I could volunteer one of mine for testing purposes?...... EDIT: Or could I install the mainline cgminer into an S7?

Should maybe remove Nexious pool also? It turned out to be a scam & went **poof** as soon as it found it's first block, without paying miners

Blockchain.info is notorious for being inaccurate - as long as your wallet has connections, you are OK. It also helps to forward port 9333 to your host running p2pool, as well as running the relaynetworkclient: https://github.com/TheBlueMatt/RelayNode

It is sad to see people so quick to jump on the dogie-hates-spondoolies bandwagon for no other reason than SP-Tech not selling any miners atm. What they do with their business & how much they pay their employees is precisely that - their business. I'm not interested in any of that stuff, & it certainly isn't a justified reason to try & lynch them. Spondoolies took mining to another level with quality equipment that, in my & many others case, is still running strong. I have had nothing but good service & communications from them & still do. Even if they never make or sell another miner to the public again, I will still hold them in high regard, which is more than I can say for other mining manufacturers. Times change quickly in the mining world. Businesses can change their plans like everyone else. If anyone thinks they have been ripped off by SP-Tech they should open a scam thread like everyone else does instead of peppering this thread with "they earn this" & "they done that" posts. SP-Tech bought some much needed competition to the market place & done a lot of good to the mining community in general - don't let one bitter individual change your perceptions over something you have no control over. It is what it is, accept it. In the meantime, we can only hope that they do decide to sell retail again, those SP50's are a beast! You all know you want one
