Verification requires a scanned passport? That's a bit.....extreme......I'm not sure there will be many users who are keen on that

Yes, I've already found two open source projects allowing to setup a block explorer and a mining pool. I will tryout to setup each of them on a virtual host asap. It would be great if we can get trade support for SIL/BTC or other pairs on any crypto exchange. Existing mining pools are welcome to add (merged) mining support for 611 (SixEleven) I don't fear the CPU-mined blocks during the development phase as anyone can check the GitHub commit history (and DNS records) for the development steps taken before the announcement on bitcointalk: https://github.com/fflo/sixeleven/commits/master.611All main functions of 611 (SixEleven), especially the DNS related features are working fine since beta2. Searching the Web for 611 (SixEleven) it also seems that we have a good basic price level of about 60$ per SIL at the moment. So as long as no miner is going to sell SILs for a lower price level I think this coin can be good investment for (merged) miners $60 is not a bad price tbh, but I do expect that to rise as more miners adopt the coin - not that I'm into exchanges, I don't trust'em

I think you also have to include Slush in the category of trustworthy pools. The list you provided was pretty short, and i'll bet incomplete. I expect Antpool is trustworthy though I have no direct experience.
Slush has no official support thread on this forum & Antpool provides virtually zero support here, as well as deliberately mining empty blocks. If Antpool/Slush or any other pool done a Nexious with your hard earned BTC, will you know where to go in China or whereever to get your earnings, or who to contact?

Because of that, you can't put P2Pool and Eligius in the same boat regarding trust.
Absolutely. IMHO there are only 2 ways to mine that are completely, 100% trustworthy: P2pool. Solo mining. ..and only a few pools that are run by proven trustworthy operators: Kano.is ckpool (solo) Bitminter. (& BTCGuild - RIP) I pointed an S3 at this scam pool for less than 2 minutes & I feel cheated God knows how miners who spent days/weeks on here must feel.......

well unlike nexious
kano pays ck pays bitminter pays f2pool pays
P2pool always pays

And by any chance, have you heard of the BitClub Network (BitClub Pool). They look to be "trustworthy" but would like to have a more expert opinion from someone who heard about them Read this: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1152263.0Mine there at your peril.

I am not at liberty to provide my details just yet....
You most definitely are if you want the personal details of others.

This is a funny thread Will dev be sending his personal info to everyone who is daft enough to send him/her theirs?

Well, I just pointed an old S3 at it to see how things go - 2 minutes later the site went down

Regarding the latest Bitcoin Core version 0.11.2 - I've been running it on my node with the latest p2pool git version for over 24 hours now without issue, it runs fine & is finding shares. Matt has also released a new version of the relaynetworkclient, which is also running well. Nice to wake up to another BLOCK!

They re-enable cgminer to submit stale shares, as p2pool can find blocks with stale shares - as well as other stability improvements. And yes, you can use them on other pools too, no problem, but you're better off failing over to another p2pool node really, as your shares are stored in the p3pool share chain & can be transferred to any node - thus you won't lose any if your node goes down. All clever stuff

i think you have the wrong coin this is no ico / and i would never have anything to do with one I remember making lots of profits during the ICO of this coin about 3 years ago until the creator came out 2 weeks later stating he had paid a bunch of people to put together the coin and that he couldn't code crap, the rest is history Probably thinking of this one?: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=825607.0I can't find an avatar/icon of this coin anywhere - I'm sure there was one though. Maybe we can set up a bounty for some artistic crypto enthusiast to do their thing......

You will get a lot of disconnects when first starting p2pool as many peers are dropped for using outdated p2pool software, as well as having to download the share chain. You also need to allow port 9333 through your firewall & router to the host running p2pool.
Just start it normally and wait a while - the errors will gradually stop as it settles & finds good nodes to download the chain from.
Thanks, will do. No problem. It can be a little disconcerting when p2pool is started up for the first time, but as your node gradually downloads the chain the errors will stop - but it does take a while Currently the share chain is at 17372 - you should see shares on your node gradually increasing.......

for god sake someone should do pool for this coin or tell me how to solomine with antminers
You can merge mine it with p2pool

You don't need python-argparse if you're running python 2.7 (which you will be with 14.04). You do need python-zope.interface python-twisted python-twisted-web. Maybe that will help You also don't need to make - just run it straight from the p2pool directory.
