I disagree that Lisk will need to take time to rise. ETH did most of the work for us by creating a viable bitcoin replacement. I think it is pretty clear Eth will surpass BTC this year.
Not saying Lisk will peak out of the gate but its gonna move fast.
Blazing fast.  Cool
1042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LISK] Lisk | Decentralized Application & Sidechain Platform on: May 19, 2016, 10:37:14 PM
I have watched this board and have seen the crazy high projections that many have put forth but I have always thought that Lisk should be valued somewhere between 10-30% of ETH. Last week that meant around 60 cents to $1.80 per lisk, but this week it is double that. I guess we will all soon see.

It took ETH 8 months. Its 1st wave took it to a 90M cap. why do you expect that Lisk will NOT take time. Dreaming of a 300M-500M cap in week one is an illusion.

Lisk is a whole new animal.

Lisk's innovative design (JavaScript, SideChains...) will go mainstream much faster than Ethereum Solidity, Serpent, SmartContracts that are still useless BTW:

Yeah and also the Lisk platform has been in constant development for over 2 years.

not to mention lisk has been mega updating the code and has substantially improved onto the Crypti code in the past few weeks.  A crazy amount has been done with not a penny spent.
Thats amazing!

Guys what is the launch date? Is it June 1st right after ICO? I got lost with such a long thread..

Dev can I guess confirm if it is literally next day June 1st or not......I would assume yes?  Unless it's not "on" exchanges yet then only option would be if they drop new wallet release.

ICO ends on May, 31.  After the ICO is over tokens can be withdrawn from the ICO platform
★ Development timeline and ICO timeline
- Lightweight Client and test net will be launched before the end of the crowdfunding campaign, in May, 2016.
- Main net will be launched in late Summer - Fall 2016.
- The crowdfunding tokens can be traded at decentralized NXT Asset Exchange and centralized exchange partners before the Mainnet launches.
After its launch they will be converted to corresponding WAVES balances.

Waves platform launch with main features - summer 2016 correct.

Withdrawing and traiding right after the ICO. Yes.
Hell yeah! My body is ready!!!  Cheesy

I'll be very happy with 0.5$ in the first few month and if all goes well we might see $1 and if all still goes well then yes, we can see 2 and 3.
Yeah I can easily see Lisk hitting $1 during first week of launch.

Exciting times ahead! 5 days until launch! My body is ready!!!  Cheesy

Well, I took my own advice (I might have deleted it), signed up with Bloombit & bought 501 of their IOU-Lisk in the hopes that the post-launch price will be at Yobit's price or close to. I know it's a risk, including the counterparty risk, but I had to try.

Fingers crossed...
Wow nice move. Hope it goes through well. Launch is going to be chaos lol. Bears vs Bulls showdown of EPIC PROPORTIONS!  Smiley
1052  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [PRE-ANN] WAVES. Ultimate crypto-tokens blockchain platform. on: May 19, 2016, 02:42:24 AM
I bought Waves two different times during the ICO. I am thinking about getting more Waves before the ICO ends.

 Wink

Funny that we're in a Laffer Curve framework here. Too many BTC means too much dilution, but too few BTC means inadequate development funds in re the plans. I hope we end up near the optimum. Smiley

I think we're past the optimum now. Beyond a certain point increased dev funds do more harm than good, (why work too hard, we're already rich), combine that with IPO investors constantly whining that price is well below ICO, and you have a recipe for disaster.

Ideally what you want is hungry devs who can see the prize ahead, but it's out of reach, and investors supportive and active with the same feeling (the prize of increased marketcap is in sight, but needs time and support to achieve).

With WAVES I can see an avalanche of post ICO negativity as everyone who wants into WAVES will be so up to their balls, so price is heading south, and the devs tolerance for complaints, and hunger for 24/7 startup work ethic will not exist after a few months, as they're already rich.

I agree with the idea that there is probably a "sweet spot" for BTC raised. I liked the quote: "too many BTC means too much dilution, but too few means inadequate development funds." That sums it up well.

You make some really good points to consider. But I'm not sure we're past the optimum now. But we certainly could get there.

The devs to me seem full of ambition and vision. I'm not sure they would be inclined to take things easy just because they are "already rich." I sense they have a lot of integrity and a strong desire to bring their vision to pass. I think they know their reputations are on the line and they will probably push and push until all their goals and dreams are realized. Also, I seem to remember that in order to implement their loftiest visions will require a lot of funds as some of the licenses they seek can be very expensive to obtain. I don't understand this world that well to provide the details, but I'm sure some people could.

I've thought that breaking the 10k BTC milestone would be ideal for this project. It looks almost certain that will happen. I'm not sure we should blast through that to something like 15k or beyond, but there might be hidden benefits to that outcome that I can't see. For me something like 11k BTC would still feel right and good. Past that, I might start to share the concerns you stated so well. Smiley
I would say 10k-15k BTC raised is the sweet spot for ICO's today. Not too much but not too little either. Just right.
