You can see on the link of preposter, that password wasn't changed. So your account wasn't hacked. You simply forgot your password, I guess.

No, because I also wrote down the pw.

I put in the pw many times, still said incorrect. The last time I tried it went so slow, one finger...

I think maybe most people are not being hacked currently. There is just a weird bug where you cant login with the correct password.

Thanks everyone for the feedback though.

It looks like the only way to secure your account is with a bitcoin address so I'm going to make one especially for bitcointalk
I had this issue on some mobile browsers like opera mini, because the current typed password was changed by the wrong typed and also the numbers of the time field went into password field. That was an issue by missinterpreting browser. .So, if you will have your issue again, then change browser or clean cache. Maybe you had the same issue.

You can see on the link of preposter, that password wasn't changed. So your account wasn't hacked. I searched the whole page. Nothing Smiley Only showing your password reset. You simply forgot your password, I guess.
BTW: If someone changes your password, you get a notification via email and a link, that you can lock your account.

Maybe you could put together here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2954878.0
This member has the same issue.
Are you fucking kidding me? The query was asked 4 years and 2 months ago. Pretty sure the user who asked isn't going to care much on your reply. The link that you have posted has a totally different scenario. Not only are you spamming, you're posting off-topic reply and bringing back a really old topic back to life.

Oops, didn't see the date of first post. But I didn't bring back an old thread. Kindly read the threads carefully, before accusing other members in a rude way. Mistakes can happen, but obviously not that often good manner.
104  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: February 16, 2018, 05:02:10 PM
There is an issue, when beeing downgraded from full member to member. The member is wearing an avatar from a company and now can't remove it. With the merit system , a quick upgrade is not expected. So it is not only a problem of the member, but also of the company, who's avatar the member is wearing. Maybe there could be found a solution for such exceptional cases.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2954878
It seems, that more cases appeared.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=370157.new#new

Those two threads have nothing in common.

And if someone got down-ranked due to deleted posts they still have their original merits. So the upgrade back to the same rank is not going to be affected by the lack of merits.
Maybe in the first case the downgrade was earlier. Avatar should disappear, because it is not his own.

I prefer with answers like this, not only support the merit system but this if it can be a consideration and one of the BUG in resulting from the system that does not work properly.

You might not like my answers but I told how the problem occurred and the only way to remedy it. I'm trying to save you from wasting time here. You may have noticed that none of the moderators or admins has replied and I would think it is very unlikely they will. It's not a bug or a system not working properly, you're not supposed to get your rank demoted.

I do not open an account or active in this forum when I open and play again I am very surprised how can my ranking go down when I do not feel delete the post or post deleted by the moderator it does not leave any trace or notice at all. how can you call it not BUG? it is clear that it should be for the account that down the rank of full member to the member then it should be automatically will hide or delete the avatar that exists, while this avatar is still installed it is clear this is a BUG if you know a system.
It usually was no problem.Sometimes threads are deleted and all, who posted there, got their posts deleted with no notice. It was no problem to uprank, before merit was implemented and there was no need for a correction. But now we have another situation.

I looked for it but did not find it  Undecided Cry
A'right kiddo. Did you try doing this??
Go to https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=avatar;u=1158794 (the link is already adjusted as per your UID,don't need to change anything)and you will be able to change it *hopefully*.
You should be getting a screen like this:

Hope this helps.

still not able  Undecided

The idea was great by Pugman. Too bad it did not work.

That is weird. The avatar should have been disappered, when you were downgraded. Maybe a search could help. I think, that could have been happened also a few times before and there is maybe a solution.

what is the solution? I think only people who have high positions here that can provide a solution  Undecided

No, the avatar would not disappear when an account is downgraded. Originally all accounts were allowed an avatar but that the source of an exploit when the forum got hacked in 2013. That's when the restriction was put in place but accounts that already had avatars kept them.

In the end, it is down to you that you got downgraded from Full Member either by deleting your own posts or posting things that needed to be deleted by the moderators. That's why the administrators will not help you and the only way to resolve this is to rank up again.

I think nevertheless, Theymos should find a solution, because it is not only an issue for the member, but also for the company, who's avatar he is wearing.
109  Other / Meta / Re: How to change avatar ? THEYMOS please help ! on: February 16, 2018, 02:16:48 PM
I think, it should be corrected by theymos. Before merit system was implemented, it was no problem, because it was no long wait, when beeing downgraded to become full member again, but in new cases, the avatar should automaticly disappear after downgrade.

111  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: hashflare.io best mining pool setting (Do Not waste your money) on: February 13, 2018, 08:30:14 PM
i purchase feb around $1480  total waste of my money forecast revenue show i will lost 25% of my investment. specially scrypt !,sha 25 show i will earn +/- 100 by contract end and ETH as well but the scrypt show a loss.
and we talking about one year . and employee of hashflare and affiliate post alot  fake review all over net. i rather work at MCD for a week i get over $200 after taxes Sad
Do not waste your money i rather buy from gdax/or coinbase
You are right. We only can do a damage limitation with these settings and hope, that hashflare will payout, when the contracts end. The best is, not to reinvest and payout as soon as possible.
112  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: [Warning] About Coinomi on: February 13, 2018, 08:54:40 AM
I went through the steps, posted by coinomi.
https://coinomi.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/29000009717-what-is-the-recovery-tool-and-how-do-i-export-my-private-keys-
As I remeber right I used airplain mode, because the mnemonic converter also works offline.
113  Other / Meta / Re: Chances of signature campigns being removed from this forum on: February 13, 2018, 08:39:44 AM
I read comment by the admin that if the merit system fails to reduce spam from the website, he might take decisions like removing the signature campaigns. This is scary for me.  I am not eligible for any campaign yet but I was hopeful to get enrolled in one. If this is going to be implemented for sure, I might not be comfortable participating in discussions. I will though read posts by other members for information needed.

Anything can happen but can you quote the link where theymos said this statement.  Do you even know what a Signature campaign or bounty is ?
-snip-

Here you can read it:
So what are you proposing that be done against shady behavior regarding the merit system? Nothing? Or are you simply saying that *we could/should* tag them, but that some of the tag's by actmyname were unwarranted?

I think that tagging may be appropriate in particularly obvious cases, or particularly egregious cases involving hundreds of merit points and several posts. But generally you should start out by assuming good faith, and only change that opinion as the evidence really piles up. Tagging someone immediately after an instance of apparently-inexplicable meriting is too trigger-happy IMO. Even if it is a case of illegitimate merit, even hundreds of illegitimate merit points are not much of a problem IMO, so you have to ask whether it's worthwhile to possibly make a mistake by tagging someone who is merely suspicious.

Now, I'm not 100% sure that actmyname's ratings are outside of what I would consider appropriate, which is why I didn't take action to immediately remove him. But from what I've seen, it does seem likely that he is too trigger-happy.
114  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where can I buy Ethereum with Fiat money? (Not Coinbase) on: February 13, 2018, 04:48:39 AM
Bitpanda.com gives the opportunity to buy Eth with fiat through several payment methods and with moderate fees. My own experiences are good.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Candy - WTF????? on: February 13, 2018, 04:41:54 AM
I didn't hear about Bitcoin Candy before and I thought first on a fake fork as I read their name. But they address a problem that should not be underestimated.
"Among the many questions about bitcoin, the rapid development of quantum computers is like a dark cloud far away from the horizon, which seems distant but disturbing."
In "About" on https://cdy.one/index_EN.html#home
Interesting would be, if they really have a solution.
116  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Exchange or Wallet? on: February 13, 2018, 04:31:22 AM
I follow two rules: Little funds to exchanger  - big funds to wallet. If a wallet is secure depends on the fact, if you own your private keys. A third party wallet is as unsecure as exchangers.
Here you can find great infos about wallets:

117  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Crypto of the day - new app for rating crypto coins! on: February 13, 2018, 04:26:14 AM
It seems to be a kind of crowd prediction with additional news. I would prefer, if there was no need to register. Just gor predicting or viewing news I wouldn't hand out any data. But nevertheless the app may be good and useful for others.
118  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Ebay and Litecoin coming together ? on: February 13, 2018, 04:20:51 AM
A friend of mine suggested me that this is a good time to buy litecoin. I asked him why and he replied like this.

"In the year 2020 the deal through Ebay and Paypal will finish and Litecoin creators are talking with Ebay in order to have as a payment method something called Litpay based on Litecoin"

Before I buy some Litecoin for long time holding thought to ask here first as without verifying the news I don't think will be a good move.

He is wrong that "Ebay and Paypal will finish". All Ebay have said is that instead of exclusively requiring payment via Paypal, they will enable other payment methods.

They haven't said what these methods are - it could be that they just enable credit cards. If they do enable crypto, it will be bitcoin, ethereum and bitcoincash as well a litecoin. Not litecoin exclusively.

I second your opinion. Why would they go exclusive with litecoin? Unless someone at the litecoin team sucks someone at ebay off, I don't see this exclusive crap becoming a reality.
Even if it would be not Litecoin exclusively, it would give it a good signal, if it was one of a possible cryptocurrency for payment there. So it would go up, like his friend presumed
119  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Where You Can Buy Cigarettes Online With Bitcoin on: February 13, 2018, 04:15:04 AM
That is a really interesting thread. I guess, we have the same duty rules on shipping as on travelling and may for example order 40 packs of cigarettes to germany for free. I will look into this and maybe try out.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Scam] Just like Bitcoin's hard fork, LiteCoin is gonna fork into LiteCoin Cash on: February 13, 2018, 04:03:43 AM
Many thanks for your warning. You are right. Lightcoin Cash wouldn't make any sense as Litecoin already had a great update and doesn't have problems on slow transfer and high fees like Bitcoin had.
