141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Nodum - Masternodes Community on: July 10, 2017, 11:59:44 AM
Is this legit?  Says they are going to drop via ethereum, but when you go to the signup form it doesn't ask for an ethereum wallet address.

What am i missing here?

143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcore - BTX - SEGWIT - BLOOM - ONLINE - CORE 0.14.1 - 62000+ BTX Claimed on: July 10, 2017, 09:52:20 AM
Need 60+ now, could well be 70+ by the time of the snapshot.  Many will be disappointed.

Oho dear lol....
I might not make the rich list anymore Sad

Still possible to buy a few on Cryptopia Wink

Determined I was at risk of dropping from the rich list, didn't want to buy (again) to try (maybe unsuccessfully) to stay on it.

Sold out to those people of Cryptopia desperately trying to stay in - they have pushed the price way up.

May buy back in after the post airdrop dump...will see.

Because the volume is half a freaking bitcoin. Why would they have the slightest interest?

theyve listed terrible  shitcoins in the past ,btx has potential to grow much larger than it is now
i dont know what the prerequisites are for getting into polo .......

how many coins is necessary to make the top 1000 tomorow ?

Here is the top 1000 at the moment. But, not sure if there is any delay on the richlist.

http://chainz.cryptoid.info/btx/api.dws?q=rich

Need about 42+ to be on the "rich list" lol  Cheesy

Is the snapshot at midday in Germany like last time?

Need 60+ now, could well be 70+ by the time of the snapshot.  Many will be disappointed.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Cryptodechange (UK) - any recent users? on: July 09, 2017, 11:06:12 PM
I'm thinking about buying some Amazon GC using Dash from cryptodechange.

Has anyone had dealings with them recently?  They are pretty inactive on social media, and I can't find much in the way of (recent) reviews.
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 09, 2017, 10:57:09 AM
Please come to: http://byteball.slack.com Tell them negerkolle sent you. They will explain everything for you and help ease your mind. They might even give you some free balls like they gave me yesterday!

This may be blindingly obvious to most (I've never used Slack) but when I go there it says 'Contact the team administrator for an invitation' ...  how do you do that?  The text isn't hyperlinked, and I don't see any kind of register option.
147  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: July 09, 2017, 06:45:38 AM
Still waiting also - does everyone get the Airdrop at the exact same time, or does it rollout over several hours?
148  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Bitcore - BTX - SEGWIT - BLOOM - ONLINE - CORE 0.14.1 - 62000+ BTX Claimed on: July 08, 2017, 10:28:44 PM
While I completely agree with you, I think we need to respect the Devs for their decision. If they want a small userbase of whales instead of a large userbase of people seeing more in BTX than just an investment vehicle, so it be.
I made the suggestion to use some kind of progressive system where you get a percentage of coins based on you holdings, the more you have (and the higher you are in top 1000) the more you get.
This would still benefit the investors, but also make room for the small people. However, it was decided against that, and reading that it is wanted that people split their coins, just made me lose all interest. I pulled all buy orders and also turned my rigs off (already a few days ago).

I'm pretty much sure, that this coin will be heavily dumped, at least after the last airdrop has been made. So I would not recommend to invest here (long term) until the last airdrop is done and the dust settles. Just take a look at CLAM coin. One single person was able to dump the coin into the ground and it never recovered. It's not really about the people who buy some BTX, it's about the real BTC whales. There are people with thousands of BTC, let alone the exchanges. If they would claim their BTX (and I'm sure they will because it's free money), do not expect them to hold...

The only positive aspect is the low trading volume which makes it impossible to dump a large amount currently. Anyway, good luck everyone. As usual: only invest what you can afford to lose.

I thought your suggestion was quite good.   With the broken English in the feedback we are getting from them (though I'm sure their English is vastly better than any attempt I could make writing in their native tongue!)  I'm thinking they may not fully be grasping the nature of the concerns that are being expressed.

Noone is going to bother buying a second time after they purchase enough to get in the top 1000 and then when they are pushed out by the wallet splitters - especially when the Devs state that they want that to happen!  Only a masochist would have anything to good to say about the project after that.

everything changed now...it doesnt care if he hold 1000 wallets or 1...2,5% are 2,5%...its always the same...

So we can harmonize now the situation and are excited for the next cheats of our really smart community here! Wink

Greetz
Steve

Steve, you and LimxDev need to read from the same playbook...he recently stated it is 2.5% AND 2.5 BTX.

That doesn't harmonize the situation, the incentive for one big whale to fill out the top 1000 addresses himself remains.

You don't seem to understand that if 100 people are gaining from the airdrops, rather than 10000, then you only have 1/10th of the number of people out proseltyzing on behalf of BTC.  You are handicapping your own project for no good reason.
150  Other / Off-topic / Re: Best VPN service? on: July 08, 2017, 08:58:55 AM
I recommend Nord VPN.

Seconded.  They fight the fight with the streaming services well - h*lu recently figured out a way to block them, but Nord knows international streaming is important to their client base and in a few weeks had it working again.

VPN is worth paying a bit for, I doubt the free ones have the incentive to keep the streaming services working as well.

Not sure about Nord's logging policies, so can't speak too that.  I don't use them for anything embarrassing so am not too fussed about it.
151  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Do you hate christians? on: July 08, 2017, 08:52:01 AM
Furthermore, unlike the Qur'an the Bible is not believed to be the exact or direct word of God, so it could be subject to human error.

Depends on the flavor of Christian, there are plenty who believe the bible is the actual word of god.

152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: bitcoin popularity made it vulnerable to governments on: July 08, 2017, 08:37:09 AM
Chinas government has the power (thru the great wall, internet censorship, etc..) to make BTC very difficult to use if they chose.

The US government has nowhere near that power, and if they tried to obtain it by screwing with the internet it would get ugly (it's one thing to pull out of the Paris Accords, but make it hard to use Facebook and there will be riots in the street).

The chief concerns governments have with BTC are:
1) are these folks making a fortune paying their capital gains taxes?
2) are these BTC being used for money laundering or to fund bad actors?

I'm hoping they manage to find a suitable level of regulation that they can make sure 1) taxes are paid, and 2) anyone so inclined gets busted.

I'm also hoping they don't over regulate and stifle innovation.

It's a tricky balance, I'm sure it's going to take a while for governments to get it right (and their bias may be towards over regulation 'just to be safe'.
153  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: [BREAKING NEWS]: Wall Street Predicting Bitcoin To Hit $55,000 In 5 Years on: July 08, 2017, 08:27:46 AM
Dollar is already dead because of the pensions.

What? The dollar isn't dead due to pensions. Pensioners retirements are dead. How is the dollar impacted directly by the states not siphoning off enough money to fund their liabilities?

Let's consider if this is a credible projection.

First, it comes from a strategist at a firm called Fundstrat. Anyone heard of Fundstrat on Wall St.? Me neither. Ok, so the firm is new (at best).

Second, the strategist is named Tom Lee and has a well credentialed background on Wall St. He's also the lead guy at Fundstrate. Ok, a seemingly credible mind standing by this projection.

Third, the model. We get some glimpses in to his thinking. He's comparing the value to gold, claiming that gold production is increasing while (obviously) bitcoin production is decreasing. This will make bitcoin more scarce. He also cites bitcoins security features as advantageous for storing wealth. Serving as a better option to gold is the primary driver. They don't offer any hint at the math that gets them to the number but do divulge that their prediction range is $12,000 - $55,000...that's a HUGE range. Anyone here think it's impossible for Bitcoin to hit $12,000 in 5 years? Me neither.

Fourth, since Lee has taken incredibly bearish positions and points of view on the US stock market earlier this year he does need to have an answer to "so where should I put my money?" Bitcoin offers a good answer...and his prediction get's him good press coverage.

Finally, it's exciting to see Wall St. take notice to Bitcoin. Let's hope the attention continues to be positive.

Excellent analysis of the article.  It's enjoyable to see there kinds of predictions from creditable folks, but this guy is a bit of a contrarian (I am too I'll admit) so may not make as much impact - contrarian investors tend to get scoffed at a bit.
154  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What fee managment methods do you know? on: July 08, 2017, 08:21:22 AM
It helps that there typically go through more high-priority networks first to get to their desired destination and they aren't going through a bunch of intermediary wallets or whatever before they get to their destination.

What did you mean by this?  Is there some particular way you structure your transactions to get these high-priority networks involved?

in the end, the next airdrop will be 2.5% + 2.5btx for top1000 addresses or just 2.5% ? do we split or keep it all in one address ?

I'm wondering that too, I see conflicting information.  Do the Bitcore guys have website or something where they keep decisions like that current?

It really should be somewhere obvious, not mentioned in passing somewhere part way thru a thread.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TEZOS ICO needs a maximum cap on: July 07, 2017, 10:32:58 PM
Is there a way to start as an UNCAPPED then later on it will become CAPPED? Just wondering.. Newbie here.

It is utterly ungoverned, they can do whatever they way.

Yup, no regulations in effect.  They can come up with whatever rules they want targeting inexperienced investors, and there are plenty climbing aboard.

Just a little example:
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/btx/wallet.dws?8972.htm
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/btx/wallet.dws?9083.htm
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/btx/wallet.dws?8968.htm
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/btx/wallet.dws?8760.htm
and these are just some of the ones listed by the Guesstimated Wallets function, which is for sure just a drop in the ocean.

They're sure gaming the system..you can see those particular wallets listed in bulk in the rich list.

The new airdrop approach doesn't seem to be helping. There is a whole lot of 50 BTX and 10 BTX (perhaps to bump 40 BTX wallets to 50?)  in the exchange order book, looks like all one user to me - the requested price shows a pattern.

Perhaps a whale trying to reduce the spread of BTX by taking up more of the top 1000 slots?

160  Economy / Goods / Re: USB STICKs FOR SALE 16GB. ONLY IN EUROPE on: July 07, 2017, 09:34:56 AM
The usb stick is a 16GB usb 2.0A, size 20,06 x 7,36 x 45,21 mm and color black-red.
PS. Seller, I really hope you don't steal from your employer!
I don't steal, we give them away normally to good customers for free if they experienced any issue with an order or something.
So if i send them out as a gift is no problem at all.
Selling them to random people instead of giving them away to good customers sounds a lot like stealing to me. The buyer's address will also be registered in the company's system. Unless of course nothing ever gets shipped at all.

He was right - he didn't steal from his employer (he didn't ship!).

He stole from the buyers instead.
