There are two parts at play. And should be considered separated.
Part One : funding the design and first run ($cash sponsorship/investment/backing) = the pre-buy project
This means a designer, minting production, and retail platform.
Calling ... bigtimespaghetti ... Anarcoins
Part Two : underwriting (UNO backing) = the insurance project
This means that the Un preloaded is solidly backed. Think 'insured'. This requires transparency of the production plus other parties acting to refund in case of breach of the contract implied in the physical kgs of UNO.
part 3 ... Casascius Bitcoin Analyzer (some useful tool like that) ... reports opened/claimed and active coins

Casascius Bitcoins are backed by just the 'full faith and credit' in Casascius the person. One point of failure.
I am suggesting going to an even more strong standing, backed by faith and credentials of both the producers and another party the insurers. So 1kg UNO physical can be verified by checking the address on it, plus the another address of the underwriter. So it is basically double backed. And if it is minted in silver, triple backed.

don't see the point of removing asics. its only a small part of the coin and it was the original intention. I'd change something, if there would be over 50% asics, but as it is now, I find it ok. Marketing is the key.
agree ASICs provide security. You get hashes by the Terrahash. It makes the network stronger. If you want to fork MYR leave the asics, just add more x11 / x15 flavors to water down the distro share to the asics. |

True dat. UNO is the long play. For real investors, not short flip speculators. I like to see it spike up but I know that leads to spike downs. Slow and steady is better. For 180 days UNO has held a rather solid floor of 250,000satos. Very few (if any) other coins have such a stable 180 day support line. Plus UNO has survived 1-2-3-4 combo punches direct to the plums just as it starts each series of rebounds. And this long down pressure would wipe out most ALT coins. UNO is still solid.  One Pro Miner and POOF goes the wall ... all cleared for launch. |

Those tiny micro sell orders on Cryptsy just piss me off. Such clutter, and it obscures the order book.
At this moment on Cryptsy, I can only see the sell book from 0.00312778 to 0.00349278. It's all clogged up with junk orders 1 satoshi apart. Its hard to trade that mess, you can't see what's ahead.
I have a dream that some day we the UNO community will have our own just UNO market. [also because in the future setting up an exchange will be open source copy-pasta easy]
