The question of adding in PoS is still open. If it is added; it will not take the place of PoW, but be a minimal amount (~1%) to add an extra layer of security to the chain. Anyone opposed? Nope? ayes may have it. If you really want to stay true to the algo, I'm fine with normal 'bankers' interest of 0.125% apr. Yes the point of the POS is to protect our neat sized network. Small enough for any one to mine if they like. But I would advise rapid payout on the stake. 12hrs? Even if it is just 0.00000123 EMD paid daily it is nice to get quickly rewarded for staking. |

You honestly think this will save rabbitcoin? Or any other coin? How about POSv ? But with a cavet ... if you leave your rabbit without moving in 90days it is half dead. Now for a magic trick. The block chain stays light. (easy on the hard drive, QUICK to download) That is all blocks over 90days deleted. The 'half dead' bunnies rotate backover into the newest block, and stay alive for another 90 days. Repeat. Imagine a conveyer belt, if the bunnies don't hop to another wallet in 90 days then, they get cut in half and moved back up to the front. -- Feature #2 eliminate the decimal. fractional bunnies can not exist. only whole bunnies. lets not be greedy there are already 100B. for the half life thing. odds go in favor of the account holder or tossed into a dev/maintaince pool. okay if you're still whinning. really good idea. What competitions did you have in mind? Well, people who already have their lives mostly on the Internet. Gamers are the 1st thing that come to mind. I also really, really like the idea of making it a morality thing, like the Nobel Peace Prize and whatnot. Maybe the best 'alternative' news (free media) source? A 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place award scheme for each: Most neutral reporting, most beneficient/effective reporting, and the best full-disclosure/revealing reporting over the last year. Most informative reporting? Maybe have one for rookies, too! Have a Hero-of-the-Year competition for actual doers. People who save others from certain danger. People who come out and whistle-blow on perps and corps of all kinds. People who actually come up with some new idea that they implement and make the world a better place. True leaders, if one can be found. Etc. For gamers, unrelated to the free media and Hero-of-the-Year possibilities, it could be best new game of the year; most popular game of the year, etc.; most unique, novel, or new; most educational; etc. What else? CRYPTOS: Best new crypto website. Best new crypto company. Most user-friendly and useful crypto app. Music: etc. Art: etc. Website design: etc. I don't know....What else? What could be as big as the Oscars or Nobel Prizes? Maybe just bottom feed the idea with a swimsuit competition, etc. People would probably pay to see and vote. The votes fund The Blue-Crypto Award Why not? Reserving funds to sponsor the Crypto Academy Awards of 2020. The altcoin market is currently saturated and stagnant. There aren't that many impressive altcoins at the moment and most are just rehashed versions of other coins.
Those of us who've been here long enough will know that altcoins move in stages. Every 2/3 months there is a MASSIVE gainer in the altcoin market, and subsequently the clones follow suit trying to bank on these massive Gainer's success. e.g.
Auroracoin, which started the country coin phase.
ReddCoin and Heavycoin, which stated the IPO phase. (Not that good market wise)
DarkCoin which started the current Anonomity phase
If you bought into any of the above coins early, you would be very, very rich if you sold them at their peaks. And even if you missed the train for those coins, if you get into the first two or three clones you can still make a ton of money

(BBQ, FTC, Mega, World) Peercoin, started the 51% attack is bad phase, and "Green Phase" Primecoin started a brief botnet mining phase. Quark started multi-algo phase.
