I hate seeing "Alert" in that thread because it leaves me wondering "What do you mean??" Unfortunately I don't have enough invested in Bitcoin (yet) to justify subscribing

3,600 to go over 13.80
I'm curious as to why this number has you so worried? It's just another wall. We've seen them before True, but this is the "Wall Observer" thread and he's doing a great job

Dump duh dump dump
intuition this morning told me it was at a peak but didn't sell. wasn't too stupid enough to buy though
I'm not so sure it's peaked. This 1 month chart looks pretty good, and with the 4chan announcement we could see some new interest...

i dont see how that affects if its only a fraction difference
The bot always does it, whether the bid/ask difference is 10 cents or 0.0001 cents. I would guess that not everyone looks at the order book before placing their bids, many will just go off of the values they see on Mt Gox's trade page
That's what this bot is going for. Which begs the question... How much do these bots distort the true market value?

whats the point of some people selling .01 coins a fraction at a little less than the next higher ask price?
Its the bot that places a 0.01 ask 0.00001 above the highest bid to try and suppress the price. how would that suppress price... and how long to take out this 1.4k 13.50 ask wall When a normal user logs onto mtgox and is on the buy tab, they see the price of the ask the bot placed, which can cause them to place lower bids than they would have originally. Plus the bot sells 0.01 at market first, so the Mtgox last price always appears lower than it should. i dont see how that affects if its only a fraction difference I would guess that not everyone looks at the order book before placing their bids, many will just go off of the values they see on Mt Gox's trade page

The depth on the buy side has filled back in very quickly. If whoever unloaded thousands of bitcoins over the past few days was hoping to spark a panic so they could buy more, then they're going to need to dump more bitcoins.
They are probably starting to sweat a little lol Maybe they have no intention of buying more and they're simply setting the stage for their next big dump

You heard it here first folks.
this again I've been wondering about this, after all this attention bitcoin has had in the news recently. Generally positive too, for a change

This has been happening since early September at least. See this post by adamstgBit and my reply: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=82626.msg1180152#msg1180152Confused me at the time but I assumed it was just a difference in the way the figures were calculated. I would have sent a bug report but didn't know enough about it to know it actually was a bug. Seems to be fixed now though

They are not similar tho. The difference in SMA tells you that the context is different for both graph fragments. The big movements around it are different. And the fact that you look at daily aggregates tells you you don't see any details. So the graphs look similar at this particular level, it is the result of dissimilar movements. In other words, you can't make a prediction based on these similarities. It's more like a freak occurence. Ah ok, thanks, I understand now. There's a lot to learn. I only showed a month because it was easier to see the detail and I used the daily chart because I understood that this is the best to see long term trends. I guess it won't be long before we know one way or the other

Last similar cross in march 2012 was with 200k selloff
Hmmm yes you're right, and it looks remarkably similar to the current situation... March: November:
