2441  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Buy for another person on: August 19, 2018, 11:51:32 AM
Stompix,

Sorry that you did't understand me.
We discussed about transfer money to my account, of course!!! But he did it using another person's account, so his name doesn't appear in my bank account.
And I never said that I'm Californian. I said that I live in California.

This is a big red flag!! This is only a scam and you should not do that again. For me, it sounds like you're acting as a middleman who's supposed to wash money from a scam. I've read something about that before. The fraudster sells something as an example on eBay, receives money for the sale on your account and sends no article. You trade the money for Bitcoin and the fraudster remains anonymous in the background. Only your name appears at this scam. Think about it, if you really want to join in something like that.   Shocked
2442  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What is your opinion about cryptocurrency market now? on: August 19, 2018, 11:18:49 AM
Dear everybody,
In this year, I seen that the cryptocurrency market is very bad. Downtrend is the main status. Although I always believe it will recover at the end of year but I feel worry when see the diagram of the market. What is your opinion about cryptocurrency market now? And it will recover next time?
Please share!
Thank you!

I know such times already from earlier. There was a deep fall already after a big price increase. That's why what's happening with the market is nothing new to me. It's not a good time, but you still have to stick it out. So far, at some point, a new price rise will come and that's how it will be again this time. It is difficult to say if the new price increase will come this year or next year but either way it will definitely come back. Therefore, this time just survive and at some point, the market is recovering again. That's my opinion about the current situation. Wink
2443  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Main] Bitcore- BTX - Are you ready for the future? on: August 19, 2018, 10:59:52 AM
About new format:

I've downloaded new 15 version of wallet.
Of course, backup of old wallet was done before.

So, I start new wallet and do nothing.
No changes of 'wallet.dat' file or so on.
And my new (BitCore BTX v0.15.1.0) shows me everything o.k.
I see all old transactions, etc.
All addresses started from '2'. Even for old transactions (before format's changes).

So, do I need to do something or everything o.k. and I have new wallet in good conditions?
Thanx in advance for any help bro's!

Sounds like everything is ok and the new wallet works properly. Otherwise you do not have to do it. Smiley
2444  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: SLeepless nights doing bounty campaign is it worth it? on: August 18, 2018, 12:51:09 PM
I know that there are other members here working day and night doing bounty campaigns. But i think that doing bounty campaigns is not worth it especially if you had a lot of work during the day. Some are just boasting on their bounty campaign earning wherein fact maybe because they are lucky to receive those awards but somehow do not wish that you could be like them because some of the ICO project that you will going to work will not give bounty rewards and some of it will fail, or just pause. So no reason for sleeping late at night.

There are apparently many bounty campaigns that are not worthwhile. At the same time, there are still good bounty campaigns. If you do not overdo it and only take one or two bountys in the month, you can do it easily alongside the normal work. It does not make you rich, but it is still fun and the work is manageable. Still, I would not sacrifice my nights for that, but that's just my opinion. There are certainly people who are trying to earn money properly. Some will certainly do it, but many will not. Everyone has to decide for themselves whether it's worth it or not.  Wink
2445  Other / Archival / Re: Hhampuz Campaign Management & Escrow Service | Available! on: August 18, 2018, 12:27:10 PM
I can say only good things about Hhampuz. I have participated in two signature campaigns and in a reddit campaign, which he led and there have never been any problems. He is reliable and takes care of the campaigns. Thumbs up for that. That's why I recommend him as a bounty manager. I trust him for his good work. Smiley
2446  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ethereum will overtake Bitcoin on: August 17, 2018, 01:55:47 PM
In the following year ETH will overwtake BTC as the number 1 cryptocurrency. I would dump your bitcoin while despite everything you can.  Undecided

I somehow do not believe that. Currently it does not look like that Ethereum can do it some day. Of course everything is possible in the crypto world, but nevertheless I think Bitcoin will remain the lead currency in the next years. I put my investment in both coins, so I'm on the safe side. I think both coins will have a successful future and thats why I'll keep both.  Wink
2447  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Status of WEX (World Exchange Services) on: August 17, 2018, 01:38:01 PM
It's a pity that such an old exchange seems to break more and more. I am glad that I do not do anything there anymore. Just before the first fall of BTC-E i withdrew from the platform and so far it seems to have been the right decision. Nevertheless, it is very sad that Wex has such problems. Hopefully at least all people will get their coins back. I wish to all customers good luck.   Smiley

The thing to have been aware of was that they never did solve their old issues. They promised to do so, but people waited. Meanwhile, they launched a new exchange in Singapore, started paying back old debtors from new funds, and people stopped complaining. Yes their prices were always better than other places so a lot of early traders thought they were being smart,,, but this is like a ponzi scheme. Get in early good for you. Get in late, lose everything. Just stay away and pay a bit higher prices and fees at other better exchanges.

If they did it all so, it's no wonder that at some point the thing fails. Still a shame that one drives such a money press against the wall. I was really lucky that I separated early from BTC-E. And you are right, fortunately, there are currently better exchanges and I can only advise anyone to keep away from Wex.  Wink

Of course. I am just so surprised people did not learn their lessons. If it is too good to be true, then it is and stay away from it,,, people should have seen that from 2 big warning signs. The first when prices started to become so high on WEX and the second, that you could buy cheap coupons for redemption later on. There is no such thing as easy and free money,,, and now WEX tries to make it even more scammy by making USDT so expensive on their platform. God knows how many more people will fall for such a ploy. Keep warning everyone, hope they see this.

Yes, for me it sounds like the planning of an exit scam. That's why the high prices to lure people into a trap. Hopefully not too many people fall for it. Even if the site would be fully functional again in a few days, i still would not trust Wex anymore. I also hope that this warning will read a lot of people and not fall into the trap.  Sad

Dude - the hash for POW went to almost 0 for a couple of days
https://chainz.cryptoid.info/hbn/#@diff

Yes, on this part of the blockchain we have no PoW for this timeframe, but on the other part of the blockchain (in a fork) we have a lot of Pow blocks. But you can not see that in BE anymore.  Smiley

right, right ... the hash didn't disappear it forked to another chain.   Makes me think a single pool somewhere, is all the hash.  (A pool I do not know of)  It's basically a 51% attack without the malice.

Yes, that is possible. If the checkpoint server had not failed, it would not be the problem with these PoW blocks. But now everything is running again and in a few weeks, there is no PoW mining possibility anyway.  Smiley

where i can see bounty thread ?

At the moment there are two bounty campaigns from Bitcore. A signature campaign https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4236229.0 and a Reddit campaign https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4236484.0   Smiley
2450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will Bitcoin's Lightning Network destroys alt coins(currencies)? on: August 16, 2018, 02:24:03 PM
There are lot of crypto currencies that were created to compete with BTC

BTC lightning network is implementing due to the scalability issues the chain is experiencing with high 'fees' and transfer times..

If lightning network is implemented in Bitcoin will it destroys these competitors?

I do not think that the lightning network will change anything about the existence of altcoins. They will continue to exist and they will continue to try to solve the scalability problem in other ways. As long as there will be Bitcoin, there will be altcoins too.  Wink
2451  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Main] Bitcore- BTX - Are you ready for the future? on: August 16, 2018, 01:56:34 PM
thank you CoinEraser.
personally I think the same about exchange's wallet vs. old personal wallet, but I'm not sure.
So, that means I need to spend a lot of time to read all about this new wallets pluses and drawbacks on weekend.

BTW: other theme.
Only now (I know how slow am I  Cheesy )
so, now I see that on coinmarketcap BTX rated only in BTC on graph (and in the same time they have BTX/ETH under 'markets').
What is the reason for this?
All other tokens/coins on the same CMC have ETH graphs (if it is applicable).

The update is really easy. First close the Bitcore wallet. If you are on a Windows system, then exchange your old .exe file with the new .exe file from the latest wallet release and thats it. Now you have the new addresses. Smiley

Unfortunately, I can not say much about your question about Coinmarketcap. I do not know why this is so.  Smiley
2452  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][Main] Bitcore- BTX - Are you ready for the future? on: August 16, 2018, 12:59:26 PM
Short question to ALL.
(I read something about wallets|addresses updates/conversion but without attention to details).

If now I will send BTX from bit-Z exchange's wallet (with new address starting with '2') to my old wallet address (beginning with '1') - what happens?
Am I miss my BTX'ses or they will be transferred without any problems?

Just don't want to convert old wallet right now if it is possible.
And, in the same time, I don't want to store anything on exchange for more than some days.

Thanx in advance!

As far as I know you can not send coins from a "2" address to a "1" address. You should update your wallet and use the new address with "2".  Smiley

If I'm not mistaken, the .conf filename must be hobonickles.conf. I believe the rest you have done so far right.  Smiley

HoboNickels.conf

Ups, thank you for correction. I should just look what I write so.  Cheesy

The checkpoint server is now up and running on the following chain.

I am working on a block chain download right now. But it will be a few hours before it is ready.

Thank you Tranz for your work. Now everything seems to be going right again. Well it was not an attack and only the checkpoint server.  Smiley

Actually there was nothing wrong with the CP server. It just shutdown on the 10th, and then something crazy happened, on the 13th?. Not sure if it was just bad luck or some type of attack. But I beleive it was due to PoW, which is now on it's last leg.

The main thing is, everything works again as it should.  Smiley

2455  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Questions for Bounty Hunters on: August 15, 2018, 03:29:33 PM
I'm doing some research on bounty hunting and I would like any information bounty hunters and campaign managers might be able to offer me. I'm looking for your experiences, earnings successes and failures, experiences with scams and fraudulent projects, your outlook for bounty hunting for the immediate and long term future, etc. Any posts would be appreciated and any information you offer would be held confidential. You can reply in this thread or PM if you prefer. Thanks for any help you can give me.

You really have to be careful which bounty campaign you are participating in. There are a lot of scams in this area and there are more every day. Before you join a bounty campaign, try to find out about the project you want to promote. Check if it's a scam or not. If it is proven that it is a scam project and you still advertise, it can happen that you get red trust for it. Sometimes it is good to pay attention to the bounty manager. There are good and bad bounty managers. While this is not a guarantee that a project is not a scam, it is still a good sign when a project can pay an experienced bounty manager. Hope that helps you a little.  Wink
2456  Economy / Economics / Re: Has Crypto Changed? on: August 15, 2018, 03:05:53 PM
If crypto has fundamentally changed over the past few months and whats “in” this month in cryptocurrencies?

https://www.asiacryptotoday.com/has-crypto-changed/

I can only confirm it, crypto has really changed. There are now many more people who are interested in and using crypto currencys. There are now many more crypto projects or the whole ICO boom. Unfortunately, the number of scam projects and shit coins has also increased and that's bad for the crypto world. In addition, the anonymity of crypto is broken up by KYC and I do not like this development. So a lot has changed in the crypto scene and it will certainly change more in the near future. Hopefully there will be more positive changes in the future than bad ones.  Smiley

can someone help me out with mining HBN?

it has been about 6 years since I've solo mined a coin, and I dont want to piece it all together.  This is what I'm thinkin

1 - I create a .conf file - but i'm not sure what its name is supposed to be.  wallet.conf, hobonickle.conf ?
2 - I put the RPC information in there - the u/n p/w port and IP address
3- Then I point the Asic to the local IP address of the QT wallet, with the u/n p/w and port number

Is that it?

Might help stabilize the network some, and there's another 61K blocks until POW goes away, so ... why not.

If I'm not mistaken, the .conf filename must be hobonickles.conf. I believe the rest you have done so far right.  Smiley

2460  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: I'm lazy to work on the signature campaign on: August 14, 2018, 03:35:46 PM
I see the potential for new ICOs to emerge very far from expectations. even looking at the market price has made someone not want to continue longer with the signature he uses.
what should I do to be able to be excited about the bloody market conditions. just like the situation I am getting bored with the bounty campaign, especially the signature  Embarrassed

I would not give up so fast. Yes, the market does not look good, but that should not scare you. It will take some time, but there will be another good time for the crypto market. That was always the case and will definitely be like this again. As long as the market is so bloody, you can stock up cheap with coins or tokens. Even a signature campaign, in which you does not seem to earn much now, can turn out to be very good financially in a few months. My advice to all is, go ahead and do not be put off. Only then can you earn well. I speak from my own experience.  Wink
