1021  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do you know whether its your lucky day? on: August 14, 2017, 09:09:42 PM
It's hard to know if today is our lucky day or vice versa, I just feel when i'm in good mood and then I will enjoy to play, and sometimes can affect the results obtained, but again can't the predict the lucky day.
I agree ,no one can predict if it is our lucky day even ourself will don't know it unless it already happens .Good mood will have a good effect not only in your playing but also have a positive outcome in your life.
There is no specific way to predict whether it is your day to gamble or not. Optimism has a deep affect on your life. If you are having some positive vibes before playing, then it does really makes the whole thing quite better. In other words, being lucky or unlucky is just the game of your own mind. If you feel lucky, then obviously it would increase the chances of winning.
1022  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you consider yourself as experienced traders? on: August 14, 2017, 08:03:24 PM
I can say that I am by no means an experienced trader. I've made some amount of money in trading cryptocurrencies but I've also lost big chunk of money out of it too. It can be, most of the times, like a gamble to me. I'm definitely interested in what you proposed here but I think, people would want more information about your project. Would you be able to provide more infos about it here?
Experience comes with mistakes and falls. All humans have different reactions to ups and downs of life. Some may learn while others get depressed. There is no need to be disappointed in you. With time, we grow. One day you will be also a good trader if you stay patient and try to learn where you were wrong.
1023  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How much fee for a $2 Coffee transaction at the end of this Aug month? on: August 14, 2017, 06:29:03 PM
I mean after segwit is activated of course.

Also how does this fee compares to bitcoin cash fee? Which will be cheaper to the consumer?

Also if bitcoins are worth $millions in the future and 1 satoshi equals $1 then how do you buy 50cents gum/candy? Or does bitcoin anticipate that in the future fiat inflation is norm meaning cents pricing will be gone in the future.
Eehm…did someone just comment the price for BSegWit chain around end of August would be around $1.1? I made a “high priority” transaction on 7th, and it seems like I was charged close to $2. Well, I’m still okay with it, but it better not go higher than that. Note, I didn’t say I was charged $2, I said it seems like it was close to $2, after I checked remaining balance. Don’t forget I said “High Priority”.
1024  Economy / Economics / Re: Putin's Aide Seeks $100 Million to Rival China in Bitcoin Mining on: August 14, 2017, 05:41:06 PM
I wish I live in Russia. Love Putin Smiley

Russia will dominate crypto currency world sooner or later.

The best thing about russians is that they are so open minded and they are giving every shot in every new technology. I've read about a news on how putin banned the rothschilds banking cartel in the russian grounds. Its not good to know that our country is having the hard time believing what is cryptocurrencies. Those who pioneered it earlier will have the success and I think our country will be behind in these field again. While praising how good the current system is someone is busy improving and implementing beyond what the present system can offer.

It definitely is an opportunity. Those countries that realize this early, will profit greatly from it.

When it comes to Russia, mining Bitcoin and promoting its use makes a lot of sense, given their long-term goal to get rid of the USD as a world reserve currency.

In my view, Russians overall are though, a bit crazy, but clearly intelligent. So I'm not surprised if they are among the first movers.
Quite a good move by Putin. Watch and see Russian entrepreneurs skyrocket if this works out to be a success. Would be really nice for them. Entrepreneurs are one of the people that can make a change in a country, and I wish my own country is taking such move.
1025  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally Bitcoin is in the schools for students to explore on: August 13, 2017, 08:28:47 PM
I just came across this great news,

* Australian Primary School Students Explore Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technology.

According to the article,

"The ‘School on the Blockchain’ Program Provides Young Students With Many Opportunities to Explore Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technology".

Let's appreciate this move and I am sure this would make it easier for next generations to learn and explore this new technology. What do you think about it?
A good way to make things quite easy for the next generation. If this should continue to secondary, I believe the children will be more than the present generation.

Quite a good move for Australia, hope other countries adopt the same scheme of work.
1026  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin transaction fees fair? on: August 13, 2017, 07:09:08 PM
Man you get loads of return on your investment because of Bitcoin price and you care about those cents meh Huh
At first I believed the price was unfair, maybe due to the fact that we weren’t being charged at first. But after some time, I reasoned out a few cents is a little to pay compared to the amount of profit we make from the platform, though not everyone. But I read that the price will still be increased, so if they do that it will be unfair.
1027  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Is Bitcoin's Value So Volatile? on: August 13, 2017, 02:18:32 PM
Bitcoin's value is volatile because there are not enough users/money invested worldwide.

Even a multimillionaire can have an effect on the price because if he buys lots of Bitcoins the price will go up.

Also if someone with lots of Bitcoins from 2009 or 2010 comes along then he dumps his coins there can be a global price drop.

But when there is more money invested (over $1,000,000,000,000) then no one will be able to affect the price a lot. Not even the richest people in the world. This is when the volatility will stop.
Indeed, this is the actual reason behind the volatile nature of Bitcoins. To become stable, it still needs much more support around the globe. The pace at which Bitcoins are becoming popular, it would not be an exaggeration to predict that within a decade Bitcoins will become the most stable digital currency worldwide.

This isn't even the whole of it. The lack of liquidity due to its small total valuation (yes, this is small) makes the uneducated investors respond with more effect. Dips become dumps; natural growth gets misinterpreted and then exaggerated.  A perfect example of this is what happened with BCC as it became available after the fork. People couldn't arb because everything was janked up, so the price started varying wildly per exchange (250 on hitbtc, 700 on Bittrex).

For whales it's hard to move your position around without making the market react.

And for those that say a billion is too high to manipulate, remember, rich people can work together Wink
Price for everything in the world is volatile, even the goods and food stocks you from the market.
Their price is likely to increase, and sometimes you see their price going below the rate you had expected. All these things are due to exchange (correct me if I am wrong).
1028  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the world really needs virtual currencies on: August 12, 2017, 07:19:22 PM
I came across an article this morning that, to me, really shows why the world needs a virtual currency. I'm from England, and there's a saying here that goes: "When America sneezes, the rest of the world catches a cold." The article discusses the history of the Asian Financial Crisis, and how we may be heading toward something similar.

It amazes me that we have a currency that can potentially protect us (working people) from global financial crises. This is unique and incredible time in history!  Grin

https://www.rt.com/op-edge/398890-financial-crisis-asia-curency/

I think bitcoin is needed in the future because we need a secure type of currency. The way we are now, there are a lot of hackers and criminals that want to get our saved money online, they will  be doing a lot of research and knowledge on how they can hack your account. Also, the discovery of blockchain will be a help in the future.
There is nothing such as a secure currency, rather there is a secure commodity, I don't know how bitcoins is going to react when there is a major financial crisis in the entire world, but am very confident and sure thay when that happens investors will flock to Gold and that in my opinion is a secure commodity.
I don’t understand why the world would face major economic crisis and even if it happens, that would not be because of bitcoins. Bitcoins are the future of the world and soon their legalization is going to take place. I guess the true traders will never ever go to gold.
1029  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: which is the best? Blockchain or Coinbase. on: August 12, 2017, 06:31:52 PM
Blockchain and Coinbase? I won’t even waste time to mention Blockchain as the best. Yes, Blockchain is more better than Coinbase. Coinbase is the third on my list of favorite Bitcoin wallets, cause I prefer Xapo over Coinbase. The 2 Factor Authentication is quite an advancement in their security, and that makes it more secure than most of the other wallets out there.
1030  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: Is blockchain.info wallet safe? on: August 12, 2017, 02:44:03 PM
Yes it is safe and ive been using it since i do engage and know about bitcoin. It is safe as long you didnt give any informations about your wallet and setting email verification and 2fa would really a good security into your wallet and now blockchain would really give you the access on your keys which is really nice feature as of now unlike in the past that they dont give they keys but now you can able to do such thing.

It's not as safe as a desktop wallet, and it's much less safe than cold storage. I've read about potential JS attacks that make blockchain.info vulnerable. The fact is, whether potentially devastating attacks are currently known yet or not, you don't control the software which controls your keys on blockchain.info. That should worry you. I'm certainly not sophisticated enough to understand the potential attacks, but I feel much more secure with my encrypted desktop wallet.

You can add 2FA to an electrum wallet too, if you want. BCI is better than a straight up 3rd party web wallet, but it's definitely not great for holding much value.
Yep, what you said is all truth. Web wallets are not really that much safe, though some of them can be highly secured, of course, but to a certain level. Their security is not guaranteed to be 100% safe (not sure if the most secured is even up to 80%). So if you want to save a large amount of bitcoin, I suggest you adopt cold storage for that. Use online wallet for a certain amount.
1031  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Being Unemployed Drives People to go to Bitcoin on: August 11, 2017, 08:15:44 PM
I believe that you need to use bitcoin as an opportunity to earn money at any age, but still you need to take care of the permanent job that will bring a stable income.
Certainly, bitcoins provides a way to easy earning and for many people it has been a solution to their unemployment. It is absolutely correct that bitcoins give huge profits to their holders and have changed their financial status in a dramatic way. But it is more preferable to have a permanent job if one does not have a great business mind. Also, it is good to earn money from more than one means.
1032  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why the future of bitcoin is brighter then any other currency in the world. on: August 11, 2017, 07:46:34 PM
The question or statement in your title doesn't match the subject of what you typed about. I thought you were going to explain why bitcoin is better than other currencies or possibly ask why other people thought that way. To answer the actual question in the subject, I'd say buy and hold.

The grammar nazi in me can't resist. The title should read "Why the future of bitcoin is brighter than any other currency in the world."
Haha...I appreciate the way you corrected the title but if the message is conveyed one way or the other, I think this much mistake is permissible. If the question is why bitcoins are better than other digital currencies and all such sorts then it's obviously because of its decentralized nature which provides high standard security and ever increasing value. Moreover, investing in this currency guarantees long term profits. I believe so...
1033  Other / Off-topic / Re: Young people should go all in on bitcoin on: August 09, 2017, 08:07:19 PM
To possess a great amount of bitcoins one need to invest fiat money to buy them. If someone is living with their parents, they might not have so much money to invest in bitcoin. But yes, the teens of now, if they start early picking up satoshis, they might get rich in the long time !
if they only realize how big bitcoin can bring for their future for sure they will save some fiat to buy btc and hold it, bitcoin is really good for a long
term investment and young people should think about it in order to have a much better future ahead. lots of us who came in with btc are really aiming
to hold much bigger numbers.

I have noticed that most people that are in bitcoin care about getting earnings but that is not what impulsed them to bitcoin, they knew deep down that something was wrong in the economy and it was due to that they discovered bitcoin, a person is not going to adopt bitcoin fully if he thinks everything is right with the economy.
Majority would really see on that way on which they do see bitcoin as a way on earning money without thinking or seeing the other aspects on what it makes it special. People should engage on bitcoin to increase it adoption rate together with its value but don't go all in because its really be a risky thing for us to do because theres no really assurance on cryptocurrency and even on bitcoin itself.
I don’t think so there is any big risk involved in trading with bitcoins or other crypto currencies.
Bitcoins are the safest digital coins world has ever been introduced to. In my opinion, all people should invest in bitcoins to have secure and bright futures.

I can't say that young ones should not engage in bitcoin at their teenage years but it is an opportunity. Bitcoin is here to provide for us. As years passes by, bitcoins price is getting higher and higher. It would be very wise of you if you invest some of your time in bitcoin.
I'm a young boy, and I'm feeling lucky when I know Bitcoin. Because it helps me from an unemployed have a job can make money and have a source of income stable every month for my family. I think other young people as me will happy if they know Bitcoin can change their life.
You're right but don't go all in ,it is good that you know bitcoins earlier you can make more money with bitcoins .Save and hold it so that you will become rich in the future .Bitcoins price will go higher by the next years to come.
Yes, they should go into Bitcoin, but that doesn't mean they should start ignoring their studies and doing things that won't benefit them, because “Education is the Key”.

Bitcoin is always capable of supporting us even as a part time opportunity. Moreover just buying and saving bitcoins we do not need any considerable big amount of time at any point of our life.
1036  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How am I supposed to get over the anxiety and depression involved in all this? on: August 07, 2017, 08:26:11 AM
1) I'm not sure if I believe your story

2) Hire a data recovery professional to try to retrieve your wallet data

3) Try to get a job (if you're currently jobless)

4) It's never too late to buy BTC
Yes, it is never too late to purchase bitcoins but the value he had in the past was much bigger.
50 BTC for now is a big amount and you can even purchase a good car with it. OP, you can try to hire professionals to retrieve your lost data.
1037  Other / Off-topic / Re: What's your way of spreading Bitcoin knowledge? on: August 07, 2017, 08:03:26 AM
I only spread the word of bitcoin through family members. Because for me, its much better to explain to a someone close than a total stranger. Of course in the beginning you will received a lot of questions and even criticism. And I can even share them my personal wallet that I used to store my bitcoin so that they will understand why I love bitcoin as a way to earn and as a means of investment.

The best way to teach someone is by giving them examples, a good way to use especially if you are a teacher. I don't spread bitcoin to my friends, but if they ask me, I tell them basic things like it is a digital currency created by Satoshi Nakamoto, it is a good asset if you want to invest your money. Just by saying that they will be asking more and more questions but I point out these site because it gives a lot of info about bitcoin.
I agree io that, the best way to teach someone is by giving them an examples about bitcoin. In addition to that, I also create some blogs and article about bitcoin to spread the knowledge that related to bitcoin. I also talk to the people personally who really want to know what bitcoin is.
Yes, a perfect method to spread bitcoin knowledge is to show them some good examples. It would surely attract many more users. You can also give them the url of bitcointalk forum and it will surely help them to understand some big knowledge about bitcoins
1038  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: can bitcoin wallet be hacked by hackers? on: August 06, 2017, 08:21:57 PM
can they hack into our wallet. There are many professional hackers out there. What are the chances? Also what is the safest way to safeguard ourself?
Yes, your wallet can be hacked by professional hackers out there.
To be safe try to use a multi signature wallet  and also try not to expose your actual available balance. We can't actually find any such hacker so its good to be safe on our side.
1039  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The reason that keeps me from investing in bitcoin on: August 06, 2017, 06:25:52 PM
Hello everybody.

I would like to invest some money in bitcoin, I don't use that money and I don't need it for the next 2/3 years.
I thought I found in bitcoin the perfect way to invest. BUT when I see the fees applied I don't see how the bitcoin will become mainstream! The fees are around 1mBTC which is approximatively 3$. Therefore what is the point of bitcoin?

The only thing I see : big amount transaction

But bitcoin won't be the money you use to buy your sandwich with those fees!

I saw a post saying: yeah burger king is willing to accept bitcoin in russia. Hopefully mcdonald will follow ! But why would someone pay 3$ fee therefore a third of his burger king menu in fee?

Will segwit may lower the fees?

Thank you Smiley
If you do not want to invest in bitcoin then no one is forcing you to do so, but I think it is very obvious that since this is a bitcoin forum most user are going to be pro bitcoin when it comes to investment, read the forum and you will understand why we are so positive about bitcoin but at the end is your call whether to invest or not.
Lmao…you did read that post perfectly, and good reply too, he said that he thought  he found a perfect way to invest his money. Yes he did. Fees shouldn’t be a problem, what you have to do is make bigger transactions whenever you want to and at once, cos making small transactions will lead to loss due to fees.
1040  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: August 05, 2017, 06:12:19 PM
I do not think that bitcoin will destroy ordinary money, because there must always be an alternative and by 2022 very little time, especially for poor countries, that they start using bitcoin.

Ordinary money needn't be destroyed. People could start using bitcoin along with Fiat money. Even if that happens, Bitcoin's price will shoot to the moon. Plus it will become the currency for international travel.
Price for bitcoin is even now raising a lot. Price for bitcoin was about 0.52$ in 2009 but now it even crossed 3000$. Even now many websites are using bitcoin as a payment method and so will continue and will definitely increase in future. It will be used with fiat and will not replace fiat. As well,  if so happens, price for bitcoin will touch moon
