Both are useful tools but CMC is more popular than Coingecko! Coingecko has something unique features like Exchange trust score, ICO review and many more but CMC only has token price chart, trading view and exchange rankings which also have in Coingecko! But CMC has some strong rules to get listed there where any coin/token project easily can get listed in Coingecko, that's why it has more coins listed than CMC! To me, this lot of token listing is a drawback in Coingecko!
This is true, Coingecko provides you more information about cryptocurrencies and also on Coingecko you will find also more coins, that are not listed on Coinmarketcap. But, I am used to use Coinmarketcap website, like most people here and that is why I use Coinmarketcap more often (everyday)  . I have used both sites for checking the daily turnover and volumes for the major altcoin pairs but the CMC information is more reliable. The requirements for listing the token in CMC are not simple and the $100k daily volume altcoins can apply for listing in this site. The Coingecko has more choices and the simple, smooth user interface attracts the traders too. |

I don't think it's 100% accurate because we are witnessing fluctuations in the vue of bitcoin and altcoins will only improve when Bitcoin's price increases without any dump, But as you mentioned if we want to go for long term investment then this is the right time to buy altcoins when it's low.

I think most of the new traders are just attracted because of the possible profits and not with the passion on trading. I am not sure the price of LTC is currently affordable for buying a lot, the situation can change to even worse if the market participants don't want to wait for the pullback on the crypto charts. Clearing the market with natural selection is the best possible option IMO. Using liberal choices will not give the expected results due to the unpredictable market conditions. The daily volume of the small market cap altcoins doesn't exceed 30% of the daily volume of the crypto trading AFAIK. I don't think the IEO scam accusations are more than ICO's scam accusations, the difference suggests to join the IEO. Black chains covered the ICOs, so as a majority of the crypto investors I prefer to believe in the IEOs. The scammers can take out the hands even after the token is get listed. To me lending crypto is easy of course if know who will going to lend it. This is some kind of low-key business to me or partially making money while earning and accumulating bitcoin primarily. It is not all about the rewards they offer but the success of the project itself, since the bear market started after 2017 bull run its a bit hard to find good campaigns as most of them have no concrete plans on how to survive during the market down trend that will led for their token to fall its price.
if a project has no way to survive when the market goes down I think they have failed in developing their project, and it needs to be recognized that many projects fail when the market goes down that makes the project die. the concept of a project must indeed be perfect in any condition or they will die. From the mentioned coins, I strongly believe in the future potential of BNB, ADA. There is no need to find the altcoins from the top 50 coinmarketcap list, the potentially good altcoin are the coins which are not found by the majority of the crypto traders. 1) The reasons are obvious: HODL which defines why investors don't look back when they add the new altcoins to the crypto portfolio. 2) Market cycles repeat, learn to trade the chart patterns before they get formed. The ATH prices are not the next target of real crypto HODL-ers they look for $100k before 2021. 3) The dominance of BTC may affect the total market behavior and the altcoins have trading pairs in the BTC or ETH. 4) No idea, everything builds upon the skill and market experience of the investor. |

What I witnessed the majority of the volume is fake by the trading bots, never fall to the illusion that all volume indicators show the interest domination by the day traders. The day traders buy X token and they wait for the correct exit price which can be observed with different trading tools. After closing the last trading deal jumping to the next altcoin will increase the profitability. I call this one of the reasons in the daily reality that traders observe on the different crypto exchanges. |

As a huge social media company, the road can not be completely closed for the Libra project. The consequences of the dropped partnerships will show a bad effect but I doubt the developers will not continue to do what they are planning to do for the future of the Libra as a stable cryptocurrency.
