You might also end up with nothing what so ever  from what I have seen in past few weeks apparently market doesn't want to adjust to halving and refuses to shoot the price up. Either way still hard to say if some one can be rich in future or not. There is that risk. But I think the price could be higher with more possibilities as long as we use the bitcoin. It could be true. The bitcoin price has risen steadily in the last 18 months. That is due to the adoption. |

But somehow! Price isn't fall. Its just stable on 600$ and more. I think This itself a good news for the bitcoin users.
Everyone was waiting for the price to skyrocket, the price only fell a little bit, and it's "good news"?  The price rose more than 50% in the last 3 months, so I think the halving already has its effect on the price. |

if you want to retire in 20 years you need allot of bitcoins if the bitcoin value will still be the same as now off course.
|Otherwise the price of the bitcoin needs to be that high that you only need a couple of them but we should never know what the price will be

So 1 million divided by 10 BTC. The price has to be $100,000 each bitcoin. The timespan is long enough for me to safely to say that this kind of price level will be achieved by the time.
Simply because fiat currencies depreciate over time instead of appreciate. And bitcoin appreciates.
if the price double on each halving it can double only other 3 times before 2030, this is not enough for 100k i think, but it can be enough for 10k, but with only 10 btc you will not be millionare i believe that a lot of us who have invested in bitcoin always have this dream of becoming rich from out investment, or at least this dream of making a very big profit. but i doubt if anybody who is logical enough thinks he can become a millionaire just by holding 10 BTC, a simple math can prove such a thing impossible. It is not possible to be a dollar millionaire in 10 years with 10 bitcoins. But it is very possible in 20 years. It depends on the price of bitcoin.. even if you have only save 5 btc ,but price per bitcoin is 100000$ ,you can be a millionare, But in the other hand,you save almost 1000$ btc but the price is only 50$ ,,then its frustrating. I think the bitcoin price will be more likely to rise than to fall. It will be $1000 later this year, $2000 in 12 months. |

It totally depend on the strength of the bitcoin if the bitcoin remain strong as it is now then he should have about more than 100 bitcoins and if the value of bitcoin will not come to a high value and the price started to drop down then he should need a million of bitcoins.
100 bitcoin is a good amount, because we do not know, will be in the range of what the price in 20 years. In 20 years, the price of bitcioin will be at least $100,000. So 100 bitcoin will make that $10 million. |

It will rising slowly now and that can be nice for the people who already have Bitcoins and are waiting for a price increase after a long time so it is nice for Bitcoin itself and that is good, but you never know what can happen.
There are also a lot of people that is saying that the value of Bitcoin wont even rise after the value.

Earning 100 bitcoin in a 20years time is really simple. At the same time when one earns few bitcoin the remaining grows automatically. It is not that simple to earn bitcoin directly. I mean your employer pay you bitcoin directly. it will take years. |

Semiconductors will be hitting an area of limited gains shortly and the same with mining technology. It may not be worth to spend the 2 hours of labor swapping out a unit to put in a new unit for minimal energy savings and possibly new downtime.
Is the limit in the 10 nm range? That is 100 times the size of an atom. The latest chip is about 14 nm as far as I know. |

With all the changes I started some new ROI spreadsheets. My ones from a few month's ago seem to optomistic with difficulty changing so much.
I had not added up till today the past year's electricity. I was focused on month to month (as my gear channges buy new get rid of older). Only thing for sure i my new set of ROI spreadsheets is the electric company must love me.
I think the realistic difficulty rise should be at least 15% for the next 6 months. The 16 nm miner will increase the hash quite a lot. |

After several block reward halving, the mining income from the transaction fees will domininate, so the total income might reduce, the difficulty rise will not be so high.

I am pretty sure guys with 1000 btc will be millionaire that time but 10?
I mean 2030 seems too early for that.
of course has 1000 BTC will become a millionaire, even today if it has 1000 BTC at current prices can be called a millionaire I find it funny to see that no one seems to believe Bitcoin can rise by 200 times in 14 years while it has done much bigger things before. If only 1% of the world population will use Bitcoin than the price will have to be several orders of magnitude higher than it is now. $100,000 is absolutely nothing. Even with $100,000 per Bitcoin we would be a relatively small currency. So what if a handful of people become billionaires overnight? It's not like this has ne ear happened before in tech. Did Facebook not get the billionth member because "oh no, if Facebook hits a billion members mark zuckerburg would become one of the richest persons of the world so a magical force will prevent Facebook from growing that big". No of course not. A few people might become billionaires overnight, deal with it. Most whales will have sold by then anyway. When the bitcoin price is $1 million each, the market cap of bitcoin is only $21 trillion. This is much lower than the current monetary supply. |

The bad thing on the retirement project into bitcoins is that we dont know the price that can be bitcoin tomorrow soo thinking into 20 years ,sure its a long time and bitcoin can be worthing less then todays or even much more then before the fact is todays 200 btc would be enought to retire for me.
I have the different opinion. We do not the price of bitcoin next year, but we know the price will rise next decade if the adoption is increased through the years. |
