821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Miner's Official Coin LAUNCH - NUGGETS (NUGs) on: July 20, 2013, 11:36:21 AM

I have had over 30 dreams which have come true with exact details the very next day, but these predictions are based on not dreams, but sheer education, experience, knowledge of politics and the human condition and a deep feeling of things to come.

You sir, are master troll.
Please get some rest. Take a day or two off. Please.

Cheers

But you can at least mine XRP with less resources.

You can't mine XRP period.  Even the creators didn't mine it.  They simply (like fiat) said "Let there be 100 billion XRP" and there was.  Then they decided unilaterally (he who holds the money makes the rules) that they would keep half of it as profit and transferred the other half to a OpenCoin.  OpenCoin has given away some unknown % of their half.  There is no mining of XRP, there will never be any mining of XRP.  It is like saying "at least you can mine Amazon Coins or Facebook credits with less resources".

Aah looks like I must add Tongue with that sentence. I wanted Vlad to mine XRP so he stops writing.
I even declared few posts back "I failed, I quit"

Cheers

That's why I found a PhD programmer who actually worked on the original Bitcoin code and said that was the hardest work he's ever done and I'm meeting with him tomorrow.  That's why they wanna kill this thing soon.

Satoshi, is it you Sad

Since, the usage of the testnet (demo accounts) is almost NIL on our site from past month and not much new activity, we are sorry to announce that demo accounts would be suspended. In case there is requirement of demo accounts we will restore the demo accounts in the future.

Can you publish trade volume etc data, for the exchange if it is not a trade secret. It will help everyone here to understand current Bitcoin market in India. If you can not, I can understand.

Just so he stops writing, I asked him to mine XRP.

Well have fun mining XRP. How many asskisses does your rig put out, anyway? Or are you using a sockpuppet engine to mine them?

I want HIM to mine it.. Tongue

These are words of wisdom Vlad, try to read the above post a couple of times and then think 10 minutes before trying to reply.

I'm calling it, this will just get an off-topic long-winded reply about his family and anecdotes about growing up to somehow prove he's not a scammer.

And you won, where do we send you oscar ?

Cheers

Indeed, he half read the post and waited exactly 0.05 seconds before replying. This guy is just crazy. I guess we are just wasting our time in the worst possible way.

Just so he stops writing, I asked him to mine XRP. I failed, I quit...
God bless every one...

Or here is another useful idea: get the ability to be "themed" added to more and more bitcoin clients, so that anyone who thinks a soccer mom theme or a catholic theme or a 200 years ago gold miner theme or whatever will increase adoption or be popular or whatever can theme a reasonably secure chain, a reasonably valuable currency, to target their target audience instead of scamming their target audience with a house-of-cards ridiculously insecure pyramid scheme / ponzi / tulip-mania scam?

-MarkM-

That was my basic premise for a popular household name with a soccer coin or catholic coin but everyone shit on it like everything else.  I think people just lack imagination or guts thinking nothing will work where I think anything will work if you lush hard enough and have a sound plan and strategy. And God'a blessing of course I otherwise its all hopeless, like my coin now which I was certain I had His blessing so I'm confused.

Ok, see you hopefully in a few days.  Hopefully with NUGs still alive.  Thanks again.

It never crosses your mind that maybe is your approach that is totally wrong? Don't you realize that when everybody agrees on something, maybe the one that is mistaken is you?

@Rampion, you sir, have all my respect.. You are still trying.

Cheers

@Vlad2Vlad

Do you really want to be part of this ALT Crypto revolution ? Start mining Ripples, XRP.

Cheers

Sorry ripple are a scam.  100 billion premined coins with 50 billion kept for insiders.  I got torn to pieces for .5%, half of 1% of premining when I said I'd use lots of it for bounties and only half of the premin actually worked and people still blew up.

No. Ripple is a banker getting rich which quick and lots of those smart end pro devs will be coming.  Guys like me you'll never see in this business.  I hope enough people see that.

Good luck and hopefully I'll feel refreshed in a few days and come back here and if VGB works I will most likely be much nicer of the senseless and usually baseless attacks stop.  Take care.

But you can at least mine XRP with less resources.

Just an advise, if you are going ahead with exchange idea I will advise you to first eye for customer acquisition. Get them used to with your platform, let them setup their accounts, setup payment channels and get comfort level with your platform, support and money in-out system.

In any case you will not have awesome volumes at the start, so you can offer them free trades for few months and concentrate all your efforts to get more and more people on board with carefully designed  marketing campaigns to get people in. Start with referral program based on number of leads it generates.

Just my two satoshi Smiley

2) 50 BTC.. If you want monthly average it is surely more than 1500 BTC Smiley Let me give you hint BTC goes down you get buyers, BTC goes up you get sellers.

In an exchange isnt the No. of buyers= No of sellers.

No. For trades yes, but in general you will never find no of buyers = No. of sellers.

To get trades you need liquidity and to get liquidity you need enough trades.

You will get more sellers when BTC is going up trying to cash out profits and you will find more buyers when BTC is going down. Here is the basic issue lies. When BTC is going up you will not find a lot of traders who want to buy and when BTC is going down you will not find lot of sellers. But all of this is related to traders who knows what they are doing.

There is one more class of users. Newbies Smiley They always buy at rallies going up and sell when BTC starts going low. They are what you need most to get liquidity. The issue at the moment in India is you will not find good amount of newbies.

buysellbitco.in essentially buys from users and then sells them instead of acting as a middleman. Am i correct?

Exactly. We do not act as middleman and we are direct other party in any trade. Running exchange you dont need to bother much about rates. But as Over the counter shop we are vulnerable to BTC ups and downs and have to keep very tight hands on our stock.
833  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2013-07-18; Coindesk; Gambling site SatoshiDice sells for $11.5m (126,315 BTC) on: July 18, 2013, 04:08:00 PM

I dont think Eric is going to cash it out.

Full article :
Quote
Blockchain-based betting game SatoshiDice has been sold for 126,315 BTC, which at the time of writing was worth around $11.47 million.
SatoshiDice (S.DICE), which claims to be “the most popular Bitcoin betting game in the universe”, was launched by its operator Erik Voorhees in late April 2012. The company’s shares have since been traded on MPEx, the Romanian Bitcoin securities exchange.
Yesterday evening (17th July), Voorhees announced the sale of the company, stating: “I believe this to be a solid, desirable, and fair outcome for those who have put their trust in S.DICE.”
This is interesting news to the digital currency community as, to date, this is the first major acquisition of a company in the bitcoin space. What else is unusual is that the company was bought with bitcoin, not US dollars or another fiat currency.
The sale price works out at 0.00126315 BTC per share ($0.12), however, Voorhees said “for the good of the MPEx holders and for the sake of the general Bitcoin community, which the site always has intended to support and nurture,” SatoshiDice will pay MPEx holders an extra 0.00223685 BTC ($0.2) per share, which brings the total to 0.0035 BTC ($0.32) per share.
His statement continues:
“This is a 277% premium over the sale price and a roughly 175% premium over the current market price of S.DICE shares on MPEx. It is also roughly equivalent to the average price of S.DICE shares at IPO (though BTC was $12 back then, and over $90 today).”
On top of the price per share being paid out, a small amount will be added to compensate users for the BTC that were deducted to fund development of the website.
Responses on bitcointalk to the announcement have been varied, with some forum members supporting Voorhees and others criticizing the move.
Forum member chriswilmer said: “Wow, that’s awesome! Congratulations!”
However, TraderTimm was not so complimentary: ” Well, thank you Erik for showing once and for all you’re just a profit-chaser – you don’t care about bitcoin, well, only enough to get your money out of it.”
John Bridge, MD at BitCapital, told CoinDesk he was somewhat surprised the site sold for such a high amount.
“I presume it’s a significant existing gaming institute that’s bought it. If it has gone to one of the major players in the gaming industry and they’re looking to expand beyond the SatoshiDice model, that would be positive for bitcoin as it would give it greater exposure to people who don’t currently know about it,” he said.
Bridge went on to say and he’s surprised a lot of the major operators in the gaming space haven’t jumped on the “bitcoin bandwagon” already, for example by adding it as a method of funding accounts.
“There are no transaction fees, it’s irreversible, it’s just perfect for the online gaming industry,” he added.
Darragh Browne, founder of Blockspin, said the effect of the sale really depends on whether shareholders want to cash out to fiat, or reinvest their windfall in the bitcoin economy.
“We have already seen the price drop a little today, but I’d imagine that is mainly due to speculation. The fact that there are still reports of Mt. Gox’s on-going problems processing fiat wire transfers is a slightly larger concern for bitcoin prices than SatoshiDice shareholders cashing out,” he added.
Browne said there is a possibility investors in SatoshiDice may now look to re-invest their windfall in other assets, such as bitcoin securities like ASICMiner shares.
“We could see a bump in share prices on Bitfunder, BTCT.co and Litecoin Global, and it’s worth watching the price of alternative cryptocurrencies such as Litecoin, PPCoin, Namecoin and Primecoin,” he concluded.
What effect will the sale of SatoshiDice have on bitcoin? Let us know your thoughts by leaving a comment below.

The volume on a per day basis is still below Rs 1 lakh. I  am not using any cash channels, all the business is done through NEFT only.
Though I cannot say that it will be payment gateway in a full sense, merchants in India can now get their customers bitcoins sent to their specific address and the amount will be deposited in their bank accounts daily.

My experience so far is ...the volumes are low....test your ideas...if it not fully automated...make a semi automated setup...but the get service out. the true validator of your business are the customers not the regulatory agencies.

1) What is stopping you from setting up a payment gateway?

2) Would i be wrong to say that 50 coins change hand every day in India?

1) We will be announcing this service in less than a month.

2) at INRBTC the avg volume per day is 10 bitcoins that too because we only buy bitcoins for now. Buysellbitco.in can give a better picture.

1) Awesome.. Feel free to ask any help needed. That is brave step but someone has to start and I appreciate you are trying for that. We need at least some AB test going by bow Smiley

2) That is good volume you are generating and I am sure you will be able to do more as people nowadays are using more and more online shopping in India. Your service is much needed to stay as it actually adds some value to economy. Only buying and selling will not help Bitcoin much in India.

Cheers

1) Payment gateway, means you want shops to accept bitcoin via processor you provide them, like bitpay ? Well, nothing stops you for doing that as far as I can think. The only thing is will it justify the cost you will incur for the infrastructure and running these operations ? Frankly speaking it will not at least now. There are three types of major bitcoin users in India and operating in India
a) Who speculate and  invest it for future, holding their breath that it will some day go to sky and they will be able to book profit.
b) Those who mine and want to sell as long as they are making some profit as per the BTC rates
c) Middleman like us, Bit_India and lot more who works as meeting point for a and b and gets their cut

There are several other minor users in India
x) Traders. They do not operate in India. They directly work with MtGox, Bitstamp and X, Y, Z. But normally does not worrk with C in above. Why ? Well the % cut of c in India is a bit ted high for them and they can not justify it. They do a good volume, more than 50 BTC for sure. If you want to open exchange try to eye them. It will be very hard for you to get them in as they are used to work with liquidity which will be chicken egg problem for you.
y) Buyers. This segment buys bitcoin to purchase something Smiley I dont know about their numbers as they do not want to get verified.
z) Hobbyists. They know about bitcoin and want to do something about it and own some bitcoins. They normally do not take part in trading etc and they are not the segment you should look at. They are good for brain storming and getting help.

Try to find out the best customer segment to pitch for payment gateway.

2) 50 BTC.. If you want monthly average it is surely more than 1500 BTC Smiley Let me give you hint BTC goes down you get buyers, BTC goes up you get sellers.

received today BFL 60ghs miner, powered it by Corsair PSU 750TX. there was power adapter in the box, but ... well it did not look so good as miner. Fixed it on my proxy machine running Debian and cgminer, 60ghs delivered as promised.
thanks BFL one more happy miner.

Congrats dude, you are making too much money lol.

I am sure, Pinwheel does not agree with me, but I believe mining now days is kind of zero sum game. BUT if there is any ASIC that can justify the price at this very moment its BFL ( Please I am not talking about Inaba and all that shit.. ).. nothing else.. But again, every one knows, I dont mine and hopefully now will never mine Tongue
