1181  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: VisionTek Radeon HD 6950s are GARBAGE! on: April 24, 2013, 02:04:35 AM
I disagree.  They were definitely worth the price, and mine are still running fine since I bought them.
1182  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: VisionTek Radeon HD 6950s are GARBAGE! on: April 24, 2013, 01:59:23 AM
I got a few of these and mine have been running fine for a while now.  I get up to 460khash on some of these cards.  I'm really glad I bought them.

Plus, some of them came unlocked which is kind of weird but it is nice for mining.
1183  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Gigabyte 7970 Ghz Edition is bad - What's good? on: April 20, 2013, 06:15:57 AM
Yeah I can either run at 1.170mv or 1.256mv but I cant undervolt  Cry
1184  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: WTS two Gigabyte 7970 on: April 20, 2013, 04:02:27 AM
I have 30 days to return them for full refund. You can flash the bios to unlock the voltage. Gigabyte locked it cause the stock core is already high and people were pumping more volts in them for higher clocks then RMAing them when they burned out.

This is not true, it is HARDWARE locked. Nothing a bios flash can do.

Incorrect. I have been able to unlock the voltage control by flashing a new bios, but according to the forums I seem to be the minority.
1185  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Gigabyte 7950 card may not be the one to get now? on: April 16, 2013, 05:37:18 PM
Is 7950 the most cost effective, or just the most powerful chip that is still considered efficient?  There seems to be huge piles of conflicting data about performance compared to efficiency.

7970 is faster than 7950, but after overclocking the 7950 can get pretty close if not faster.  This coupled with the fact that it is 100 dollars cheaper and uses 50w less power makes it the go to LTC mining card.

Hmm I have a 7970 and multiple 6950's running.  Could you give what configs you are using?
1187  Economy / Services / Re: Introducing bitmonstermining.com - Mine without building a mining computer! on: April 16, 2013, 04:38:57 AM
I do have the hash power already and currently I am mining with it.  I was planning on selling my rigs anyways because it is becoming a bit of a hassle, but I figured if I could sell them for their hashing power this way, it would be worth it.

1000%

I'd do it if you didn't have a problem with waiting 100 years for a payout.
1189  Economy / Services / Re: Introducing bitmonstermining.com - Mine without building a mining computer! on: April 16, 2013, 02:35:28 AM
How much would you like?

I'll change it to 150%.

What is the deal with BTCJam?  I invested in a few loans and some of them are overdue.  When I look at the rating for the users, they are 0.  When I made the investment, they were 15.

Have you guys been getting scammed too?

1193  Bitcoin / Mining support / What can I put my GPU's on? on: April 08, 2013, 02:18:33 AM
In order to fit more GPU's on each motherboard, I have to put them out of the case, and for future rigs I probably won't even bother with cases.  My question though is what can I set my GPU's on?  I was going to put them on a sheet of plastic but I am worried about static charge.  Is there anything I can do to prevent shocking my cards?
1194  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: My LTC mining build - looking for any tips/advice on: April 07, 2013, 04:58:37 AM
I don't know if you are only going to be mining on the comp, but you could have done a lot better as far as price/khps goes.

For example, check out this build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/OUll

2580khps per rig

How do you drive all 6 cards with that board? Am I missing something?
You can use adapters like this one to run x16 cards from x1 slots:
http://cablesaurus.com/PCIe-x1--%3E-x16-Adapter-Extender-Cable-w-Molex-Connector
Apparently the bandwidth between motherboard and GPU isn't s bottleneck when mining.

Yeah.  But you can get those cables way cheaper on Amazon btw

I get 650ms on btc.  What incentive do you have for doing this though?
1200  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: Pls rank these videocards for mining on: April 05, 2013, 07:04:23 PM
I have a few visiontek 6950's that I use for LTC mining.  I got em for 170 each on tigerdirect and they mine at 450kh/s
