21  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker Probability on: November 19, 2020, 03:39:47 AM
This is why I never win playing with poker, bad odds, bad at bluffing ain't got no future for this game lol.

You must be overconfident in doing these, a do-or-die decision,  so as not to give your opponent to think that your bluffing.  Grin

Do you think the professional poker players memorized this? Does this increase the chances of determining the correct hands of the other players?

Surely they don't memorize this in order to increase your chance of winning. I've watched some poker matches where the poorest hands are able to get the other player with better cards to fold with their bluffing skills. Even Kevin Hart did it succesfuly. The odds will be the same no matter how you memorize this table, it's a mix game of skill and luck as OP said, skills to bluff and luck for cards, that's what makes you win poker base on what I learn from watching videos and reading OPs post.

Sometimes this is more of a psychological game, but if you are good at analyzing those cards you may have a better chance of winning. The more cards are open, the better the probability that you can compare with your on hand and determine the odds for winning. Skill and luck is really a deadly ingredient combination to win.
22  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin in a good shape? on: November 19, 2020, 01:01:13 AM
Guys I haven't been here for a while and I'm wondering if Bitcoin is in a better shape than last time I checked 2 years ago.

Thanks
It's been a long time for you if it's 2 years ago. If you invest in bitcoin last 3 months ago for sure you already earned profit this time since the current price of btc is already touch above $17k. Bitcoin is in a good shape and if you observe the market it's soaring high and this means those who invest before are earning already.
and now bitcoin will break over 18k or break the previous ATH in 2017
if you buy it in 2018 then you are one of the lucky people who can get big profits
maybe at this time BTC is trying to break the resistance line and finally BTC great again

Hopefully, I am expecting BTC to reach $20,000 by yearends. It nearly touches 18k already and its still early. Bitcoin is really in good shape right now, and we expect it to slowly rise not a sudden surge where correction will be big too. Yes, 2018 is a good year to buy as far as I can remember it has a dip lower than $5,000.
23  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gamblers lose more money than win. on: November 18, 2020, 07:32:28 AM
Gambling is all about luck so to lose more money than to win is normal for me. If you think of gambling as a way to earn profit then you're just wasting your money.
There may be some people who earns a living from it but gambling is not a career for everyone. This is why gambling ruins some of people's lives because they think it is their ticket for success in life.

Indeed,  and I think its better to play and enjoy than after for the winnings.  If you're after the winnings, chances are you will lose more. But playing for entertainment, is much better because whether you lost or not that's not your goal. Winning the reward  is just a bonus. But most gamblers I know, lost more and even they win a bigger amount, money just passed by in their hands and ended up nothing.
24  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto Goes Mainstream: Will Facebook And Google Support Cryptocurrency Adoption on: November 18, 2020, 05:20:56 AM
Facebook wanted to create a coin of it's own. It's main motivation was to use an advertising coin for all it's platform. Making it easier for users as well as the facebook platform to make deals and evade taxes. They could have allowed buying and selling of their coin through other crypto. Google has a working payment gateway called google pay, they too could further transform it into blockchain based token but as they are already facing restrictions from a number of government around the world, google too won't be transforming soon. I don't think both of these platform would readily accept crypto anywhere in the near future as they are heavily advertisement based industry which are also a good tax generating platform.

What happens to their own Facebook cryptocurrency project? I heard this too years ago.  These government restrictions and bureaucracy hampers growth and innovations.  But, engaging these 2 big companies in crypt is huge jump on bitcoin itself and I am expecting them in  adding bitcoin and other cryptocurrency in their platform. As part of adoption, this should be pursued and hopefully this company sit up with government to iron out this discrepancies.
25  Economy / Economics / Re: Look like covid is over Once we take loans on: November 18, 2020, 02:59:34 AM
If after everyone takes the loan the virus will end then, i think ... you believe with conspiracy theories.  taking a loan without being able to return it then they will only lose.... not that simple this virus will end. because the impact is not only on the economic sector, but on health, education, and people's habits.
indeed when this virus spreads many conspiracy theories that might make sense but you have to be able to filter which ones are right and which are not, maybe you can find the truth first so that you won't be affected by bad things like other conspiracies, at least life will be better if not take a loan with an amount that exceeds our ability.

Its better to be decisive in these trying times. Covid-19 is real and millions are dying and adding more daily. Though its seems new cases are declining but still millions are suffering. Conspiracy stories are there we cant control that, and I hope government will be guided scientifically  and can render decision base on facts and what's happening. I am okay with loans as long as it is necessary and badly needed to curve the spread of these virus.
26  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Should I accept Bitcoin for payments on my online store? on: November 17, 2020, 03:45:46 AM
@ts you should accept bitcoin, if you have the opportunity to do so. Nowadays, cryptocurrency is widely acceptable that even airlines and some government agencies accepts it. Its another option your customer to choose so, and hopefully you should attract more customer. Furthermore, accepting bitcoin help add adoption on cryptocurrency acceptance and reach.
27  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An Indian boy committed suicide after losing money by Betting in IPL on: November 15, 2020, 01:21:01 AM

He's so young. Is there any threat if he can't pay the debt from his friend? Or he borrowed from others, not from his friend? I already read the post, but the details he borrowed from his friend are missing in the source. Honestly, this is possible he commit suicide because he loses a bet with a large amount of money. But it's possible too that he committed suicide because he borrowed from a bad lender who will do something if he can't pay the debt. This is a serious case. Many would follow this event if their authorities didn't make a move to prevent this from happening.

Could even be the humiliation he felt for himself. He could have lend that money for something else like study or business but put it all on gambling and as he lost, he saw no way out of debt and humiliation in front of his friends and family.
Unplanned gambling and gambling with borrowed funds is a sure way to destroy your life. It's difficult but people need to control their urge to gambling their life savings.
Many lives and families were destroy by uncontrolled gambling addiction, they really need help. Also, much better if he is the one who accepts his vices and ask for help, his cooperation is also needed.

Your words are absolutely true. Gambling without a plan or borrowing money is destroying our life and careers. Those people who borrow money for gambling most of the time they are addicted to gambling. If you borrow money and gamble, you will never get rid of this addiction.

I think that's already addiction to gambling. Sad that it is happening, gambling addiction should be addressed so that not to destroy more lives. Gambling as a form of entertainment is fine, but uncontrolled spending even borrowing money  to gamble is another story that needs professional advise.
28  Local / Others (Pilipinas) / Re: Maging mapagmatyag at maingat on: November 14, 2020, 08:29:24 AM

Kahit na very old na tong gantong method of scamming dapat padin talagang ma ipublish at mabigyang awareness yung ibang tao.

29  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: US Company Now Lets Travelers Pay for Passports With Bitcoin on: November 14, 2020, 06:12:09 AM
This sounds good, but how many people will actually use this feature?

That's the question, but you might be surprise since demand for using bitcoin is increasing. This is for convenience  too as others needs option and bitcoin is the right choice for tech savvy who wants ease and secured payment. There are many business wo are using the cypro platform and its  no surprise that government agencies  and major companies are slowly adopting this new financial derivative.
30  Economy / Economics / Re: Still confused why bitcoin is so bullish? on: November 13, 2020, 11:41:52 AM
There is nothing to be confused about because crypto gets better every year, all those who belittle crypto in the past are now embracing the technology even PayPal now fully supports crypto, no one saw that coming, so yes Bitcoin will be damn bullish because of these.

I agree noting to confuse, there is YoY year on year growth and is all good. Also not only paypal from recent news but the DBS bank of Singapore and many more are into bitcoin now. Slowly, more institutions are jumping into bitcoin because of market volatility. Just monitor news and most are favoring digital transactions, especially this pandemic.
31  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Great News: Nigeria Launches Digital Portal and Mobile App on: November 13, 2020, 09:38:13 AM
good movement from Nigeria, things that should be imitated by other African continent countries, I think the African continent has the potential for cryptocurrency that will continue to grow and develop.  they don't want to be left behind with other continents. in developed countries, the development of digital money and applications for buying and selling transactions involving cryptocurrency deserves continued attention.

Indeed,  and its good  more African countries can benefit  from cryptocurrency. They will have access to digital currencies for ease of transaction worldwide. It will also create more opportunities to its people. Hope government should fast track and create more policy friendly towards cryptocurrency.
32  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Billionaire Hedge Fund Investor Reveals That He Owns Bitcoin on: November 12, 2020, 05:11:48 AM
when megawhales want to buy. they will not tell the public. they dont want a competition fight over the price

when megawhales have bought in, they wont tell until they are sure they are all the way in and happy with hoard

when megawhales are ready to sell. they will tell the public they bought in. to create the competition of the public making the price rise so they can profit when they exit

in short
when rich guys want you to buy. they want to sell

Make sense, create a hype to FOMO when they want to sell. This is this part of the trading psychology?  Wink

There are many whales that secretly bought bitcoin , because they too sees opportunity with it. Some are publicly attacking bitcoin knowing that after years they are buying bitcoin too even integrate bitcoin in their platform. If the cant resist the popularity, they join it.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will Turnoff Happen to Bitcoin on: November 11, 2020, 01:53:20 PM
This is only a matter of time, each bitcoin integration still needs adaptation time, for problems with delays or a little transaction problem, over time there will definitely be updates, which will have a positive impact on the integration of bitcoin transactions.  if it looks easy and there are few problems.  I think it's very good.

Bitcoin has its updates also always, and hoping that this concern can be address. Maybe some people, will be temporarily turn off or lie low for a while regarding the outcome but in the long run,  bitcoin is still cannot be ignored. This problem is I think temporary and finally in the future it will be completely diminish and solved.
34  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ICO, IEO! Which one do you want to return again? on: November 11, 2020, 01:01:14 PM
IEO for sure. Though ICO is exciting and very popular, there are many scammers who join the bandwagon and disappear with money they collected. While in IEO, though there are  "failed" project but at least it is being screen in exchanges and fraud is minimized. Sad to say IEO is not as popular as ICO during the 2017 boom, imho.
35  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BUY 32 ETH on: November 11, 2020, 03:40:05 AM
Of course, Ethereum 2.0 is an improved Ethereum, but it will take several years for it to fully work

Of course, its upgrade is staggered and implementing phase by phase. It started from Phase 0 and will be launch next month December 1,2020. As of now, many are buying Eth to store to avail of its staking feature. In order to gain from staking you have at least 32 ETH, which I think a great move for Ethereum to move forward since people are holding their ETH.

More updates here from Cointelegraph
36  Economy / Economics / Re: Waiters/Waitresses/bellboys etc just lost their jobs on: November 11, 2020, 02:58:44 AM
In the era of technology, many said that everyone would lose their jobs, but on the contrary, the development of technology would make human work simpler and more efficient. Maybe here we have to continuously develop our talents and skills so that we don't lose to technology in the future. Not all human jobs will be replaced by technology, no matter how sophisticated technology still requires human control and also monitoring it.

I agree, we need to upgrade skills  at par with technology. Technology and innovations are fast that we are being short of talents, especially the technical ones. Also, when the right time comes we also  need to have a  basic universal income to all especially the seniors, that way at least they can sustain life and address poverty.
37  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does Bitcoin price rise affect your gameplay? on: November 11, 2020, 02:10:24 AM
This is why if you like to gamble it is a good idea to have a small stash of altcoins that have very cheap fees and that you can use in the case the bitcoin and the ethereum network get really busy, litecoin and dogecoin are good options for this, especially dogecoin which not only can get you a fast confirmation but the huge amount of dogecoin I get for my bitcoin makes me feel I am betting a lot of money when in fact I am just betting a few dollars.
It is a fact that i am mostly wagging with dogecoin or XRP whenever the price of bitcoin starts to rise and especially when the network is congested i will always go for alts that could confirm in a short period of time. The price of bitcoin does affect my gambling as i will tend to take less risk when waging with bitcoin whenever there is a rally but i care less when waging with doge irrespective of the market.

Same here, usually XRP and doge for transaction. Bitcoin price is a big factor when it comes to my gameplay. Though I seldom play, but when it does I check the conversion rates first. Same here, that spending bitcoin looks expensive especially when price is mooning.
38  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Casino workers forced into unpaid leave on: November 10, 2020, 10:25:12 AM
Nowadays that there's an ongoing pandemic its not new anymore.
Casinos and other companies are still struggling to survive, the virus is still existing therefore people are not allowed or has a restriction when going out.

So we're not yet back to normal thus this kind of situation is already expected. It seems unfair but we cant do anything about it, they need to operate with less employess to somehow recover their losses and to not end up closing down permanently.

I though so, many are being retrenched because of this pandemic. Many people I know  that their company are closed  and did not know when too open as the management instructed just find another job for the meantime.  I pity those  casino employee who are forced to leave and hoping this pandemic will end and to start a fresh beginning to all of us.
39  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Payments Giant Paypal Says Its Customers Can Now Buy and Sell Bitcoin on: November 10, 2020, 06:46:57 AM
PayPal seems to be very serious about their decision, and are serious about crypto and the development of this direction. But will people be interested in it?
It's depend on the users of that platform more users means more potential customer  in their platform.

Currently paypal has 305 million active users
source : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/PayPal#:~:text=As%20of%202020%2C%20PayPal%20operates,funds%20in%2025%20currencies%20worldwide.

Do you have any idea what will happen if at least 1% of it's users  tried to buy or want to own Bitcoin and use their platform to buy it?It will add more demand to Bitcoin and other crypto currency they need to grab that opportunity if they want to be one of the business earn from crypto .

Good point sir, this PayPal's move is an additional adoption of crytpcurrency particular the bitcoin. We are glad that many institutions and looking to include bitcoin in their services, this is really admirable. Paypal  is popular money transfer platform and adding bitcoin will boost their transactions too. Its a win win  move to them also.
